The SpaceThe space is its own apartment. The hosts are next door and available to help and guide guests anytime, but the guest has total privacy. Great for a single guest or couple. Guests have access to NYC via bus and train that takes about a half hour. Bloomfield is undergoing major development, home to a college, great restaurants, parks and regional theater. We want our guests to feel at home and comfortable. We live in the house next door and drop off some complimentary breakfast items at the start of your stay. We don't mind questions, text messages work best, and don't want to bother you unless you need something. Kitchenette has: 1- Mini Fridge, 1- 2 burner electric range, 1 electric wall oven, 1 microwave oven, 1 toaster, 1 Keurig Coffee/Tea/Everything Else Machine, cutting board, kitchen cooking knives and utensils, flatware, dishware, food prep bowls, pots and pans. we stock a variety of coffees, teas, hot chocolates, ciders. Guest AccessFrom their completely stand alone studio apartment, guests have access to NYC via bus and train that takes about a half hour. Bloomfield is undergoing major development, home to a college, great restaurants, parks and regional theater. Interaction with GuestsWe wish that our guests to feel at home and comfortable. We live in the house next door. We schedule cleanings weekly and coordinate when you'll be out. We don't mind questions, text messages work best, and don't want to bother you unless you need something. The NeighborhoodBloomfield reminds me of the Brooklyn where I grew up. Affordable, real and convenient to NYC, but a close refuge from that hustle and bustle. Development in the area is very busy. Bloomfield College, just up the street, recently completed a beautiful 5 story dormitory (with a college Barnes and Noble and Starbucks outpost) at the intersection of Broad and Franklin Streets. It, along a new parking deck at the Bloomfield Station is an anchor to a revitalization of the downtown area. At that same Bloomfield station location, five stories of new apartments with retail at the ground level is halfway completed. And soon a new five story residential complex over more retail is slated to start construction across from the college dorms. South of us at Watsessing and Bloomfield Avenues another 5 story apartment complex over retail stores will replace the old Hartz Mountain site. But if you wish to get some peace and quiet and walk, play and exercise in a more natural setting, the nearby Frederick Law Olmsted (NYC" Central Park & Boston's Fens among others) designed Watsessing Park, operated by our Essex County, offers miles of really superb outdoor enjoyment. Another hidden gem is the town park at Wright's Field which you can access from the old canal path at Newark Avenue. A bit south of us is another Olmsted designed park, Branch Brook. It's quite huge and we still delight in discovering it's beauty. Bordering Bloomfield College is the town's officially designated historic district and beautiful town green. Getting AroundThe reason we considered living in this part of Bloomfield is the close access to the NJ Transit Trains. The Midtown Direct gets us to NYC's Penn Station in 25 minutes (that's like traveling from some parts of Brooklyn or the Bronx!) If the bus is more your style, there is the DeCamp line. The #44 to NYC's Port Authority Bus Terminal stops right out front. The #33 is about six blocks up Franklin at Liberty and Broad. Local NJ Transit buses can take you to Newark/Penn Station, Montclair State University and the Willowbrook Mall. Other Things to NoteWe prefer guests that are at least 25 years old. The apartment is NOT wheelchair accessible.

The SpaceWelcome to our guest apartment! This extremely clean, comfortable apartment is private and quiet. It can accommodate anywhere from a single adult to a small family. We are located in Bloomfield, NJ just one block from shops, restaurants, a world-famous bakery, a post office and the NYC bus (only a 30-minute ride to Times Square, NYC!). Three NJ Transit train stations are also located nearby. We are a twenty minute drive to the Meadowlands stadium. The guest apartment is part of our 2-story house but has its own entrance and parking. Access to laundry facilities and unlimited cable and wi fi are included with your stay. The decor is relaxed and fun, as well as (we hope) aesthetically pleasing, featuring contemporary Crate & Barrel furnishings and wall art by Tom Everhart, "the Snoopy guy". (Kids who have visited LOVE the Snoopy art.) This apartment features the world's most comfortable queen-sized bed, as well as a comfy couch in a separate room. In the kitchen, all stainless steel appliances, a spruce-green granite countertop and a honey-onyx backsplash make it a pleasure to cook in, or just relax with a cup of tea. This apartment is cool in summer and warm in winter. A state-of-the-art Mitsubishi heating and cooling unit keeps the temperature and air circulation at whatever level you want. In the bathroom, there's also an individually-controlled heating unit, in addition to the wall fixture, for those who shiver after showers! There are two desks in the unit, for the productivity-minded. And for allergy-sufferers, all of the flooring is ceramic tile, keeping dust and allergens to a minimum. (Only a couple of plush scatter rugs, like in the bedroom, have been provided for your comfort.) (NOTE:) There are 2 cats and 2 friendly dogs on the premises. We hope you will enjoy your stay! Guest AccessYou will be able to access every part of the unit, including the laundry room. Interaction with GuestsWe are absolutely ready to help with any problems that may occur during your stay. We also come in handy with advice and suggestions about the area, directions to the train stations, and answers to any questions, if needed. The NeighborhoodOur house is on a quiet, green, residential street - but it's only 1 block from the Broad Street commercial district, with restaurants, bars, a CVS, gas stations, a Dunkin' Donuts, a 7-11, a 24-hour diner, and more. Getting AroundUnless you want to drive, transit from our area to NYC is by train or bus. Bus service to NYC is one block from our home. Train service is several blocks away, at either the Bay or the Walnut Street station. The train and bus both take approximately 30-35 minutes to NYC. Madison Square Garden is the end point for train service. Port Authority is the end point for bus service. Other Things to NoteIf you bring pets, it's probably best to keep them separate during your stay (though we love them!).
