Set amongst half an acre of Australian bush, in the Lower Blue Mountains, this magnificent house makes the ideal mountains getaway. You can relax on the back deck and enjoy the sights and sounds of the surrounding bush or take a hike on one of the many walking tracks situated nearby. Close to all services. Set amongst the tranquil bush land yet close to the local trains and shops. Within easy reach of Blue Mountains attractions. Share the kitchen and living space or the privacy of a deck area. Beautiful yoga room available. This (email hidden) with a family. The house is large and has three separate living areas, four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Kitchen facilities would be shared and meals can be arranged for extra. Parking bay is private and off the street. Interaction can be according to guest wishes. Meals would be an extra but are an option. We are vegetarian. Set in the World Heritage Blue Mountains and surrounded by towering gums, abundant birdlife, and mountain walks which can lead to majestic views. Shops are easy walking distance and yoga classes can be arranged by your host. Trains going up and down the mountain to tourist destinations are regular and a 7 minute walk away. From the city it takes just over an hour on the train. The train stop is Blaxland. Buses and local taxis operate in the area. As owner and host I am also a trained yoga teacher and could offer yoga classes or local bush walks. PLEASE NOTE: When you are making a booking you must put in the number of guests staying. As this (email hidden) we need to know who and how many are staying. We also charge a small additional fee for extra guests for the use of extra towels, linen and ameneties. We thank you for your understaning and honesty. PLEASE check that you make any cancellations prior to 24 hour deadline as this makes it very difficult on us as hosts to retrieve your funds. Also check that this is the actual destination you seek as we are 30 minutes drive from the main tourist area. Consider a weeks stay as we offer a great deal on the longer stay. There are some great restaurants/cafes within local walking distance. Please ask or check out the local guide. Getting AroundTrains and buses are a 7 minute walk. From the city it takes just over an hour on the train. The train stop is Blaxland. Buses and local taxis operate in the area. Trains up the mountain stop at all stations and run at hourly intervals. The NeighborhoodGlenmore Park is a known as the "Haven of peace" From here you can visit the great tourist attractions of the Blue Mountains, Warragambah dam, the famous Panthers leagues Club and the Olympic venues of 2000 or simply spend a great day at the two adjoining golf courses or go for a stroll around the lakes and parks of the town. Getting AroundPublic transport is available. I am also available to assist when necessary. Other Things to NoteIf you love sport, there are several jogging tracks, free outdoor gyms and bike tracks around the lakes and parks of the town.

The SpaceEuroka Hideaway is perfectly situated in a quiet cul-de-sac less than 5 minutes walk to both the station and the heart of Glenbrook Village and all it has to offer. The fully self-contained accommodation has a modern kitchen and bathroom, lounge/dining area and a good size bedroom. Outside there is a veranda area to have a BBQ or just relax. We are on a large property surrounded by native forest in amongst other houses so there is a feeling of space. The unit is well furnished and has air conditioning, washing machine, electric blanket, TV, CD & on arrival you will find a selection of breakfast provisions including cereal, bread, eggs, yoghurts, fresh fruit, tea and coffee. It is part of a mud brick house and we are happy to advise you on places to go and things to do – I’ve lived in the area for 30 years and enjoy meeting people from around Australia or overseas. Glenbrook has plenty of facilities & a wonderful village atmosphere – lots of cafes, a great little cinema, tennis courts, a newly renovated park, a good range of shops and swimming pool. The Tourist Information Centre is right next to the park and is well worth a visit. The newest attraction is the circular Australian Painted Panorama, situated behind Mountain Blue Café. Markets are held in Glenbrook on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. Blue Mountains National Park is also within walking distance where there are many walking tracks and the Jelly Bean Pool. Euroka Clearing, within the national park has a population of eastern grey kangaroos that normally appear around the campground in cooler times of the day. Glenbrook is a great spot to stay, easy train access to Sydney and a comfortable drive to the upper Blue Mountains. The Norman Lindsay Gallery at Faulconbridge is on your way up, followed by Leura with its famous Mall and many attractions. We are also close to Penrith and the Nepean River – there is a good 6 km Bridge to Bridge walk, Lewers Art Gallery/ Cafe and both the Olympic White Water Rafting Centre and Rowing/Regatta Centre. We speak English and Spanish and have had two guests before - Brazilian boy (18) and French boy (17) for a period of time. We love to offer hospitality and share cultural experiences....mum and dad (us) are both English Language teachers.

The SpaceSo folks, it's really important that you read this bit because it's really important that you know what you are booking! - It's called Kookaburra Cottage for a reason; there's a family of Kookaburras who live in our yard and they will give you a shout at dawn. Then they seem to roll over and go back to sleep and so do we. - The bathroom is in the main house, not the cabin, but it is all yours. The main house is visible in the photos so you can see it's not far and there's a light on at night, but it's still important that you know the cabin has no ensuite : ) - You will have the use of your own mini fridge and decking, plus the BBQ on the verandah of the main house. - The cottage is insulated and has a heater and gets toasty in winter, and in the summer there is a fan and fly screens on the windows for some airflow. - We can provide meals if you let us know in advance. $10 pp, per meal. - If you are up early enough you may see the rock wallabies having a nibbly breakfast in the back yard. There are also a couple of King Parrots who live nearby and will eat out of your hand if you are patient enough. *NB: for long term guests, an arrangement can be made to share the kitchen. Guest AccessYou are welcome to access and use both verandahs and the backyard, as well as your bathroom and cabin of course. Please bear in mind that in the main house we live with housemates plus our toddler and baby and a jack russell, so please don't judge the main house - toddlers make it a bit chaotic. Interaction with GuestsWe love being outdoors, drinking red wine, and good banter. We can be as sociable as you like, or leave you in peace. The NeighborhoodIt's a very relaxed, family area with lots of bushland and gum trees around. It's a great base for exploring from. Getting AroundWe're 10 minutes lazy walk from the shops and station. The train takes about an hour into the centre of Sydney or 45 minutes to Katoomba.

Transport links are good; Glenbrook is one of the first villages in the Blue Mountains via the M4, Motorway or the Mt Victoria rail-line from Sydney. By car or train, it's an hour from Sydney and 2 minutes' walk from Glenbrook Railway Station. The only thing standing in your way is the trees you can see from your verandah. At the village we have the Tourist Information Centre, Tennis Court, Glenbrook Cinema, Glenbrook Panthers Bowling Club, Cafes galore, retro and gift shops, Glenbrook Swim Centre, Churches, Schools, Town Parks & Blue Mts National Park. Costs associated with any of these facilities are very modest. You will be staying walking distance from Glenbrook's entrance to the Blue Mountains National Park, and yes, you can see kangaroos in the wild practically on cue. Visit "Red Hands Cave" or you can swim in our beautiful creeks choosing "The Blue Pool" or "Jelly Bean" swimming holes, or take a more urban stroll around "Glenbrook Lagoon", find a hilltop and check the views east to Sydney and west across the expansive Blue Mountains World Heritage National Park. 10 minutes' drive and you can visit the Sydney International Regatta Centre, or canoe, kayak, ski or cruise on the Nepean River enjoying the paddle steamers -The Nepean Belle or Platypus. The launch ramp for all these activities is at Tench Reserve. You can also walk or cycle, bridge-to-bridge on a loop circuit across the river. Spend a few hours or a whole day enjoying this part of the Nepean. Stop in at the Coffee Club overlooking the boat ramp, or the Lewer's Gallery Cafe on River Road, Emu Plains. It features regional produce on the menu and a beautiful garden. Both venues are first class experiences if you love your food and views and want to feel pampered and welcome. There is so much to see and enjoy with Wildwood in the Lower Blue Mts as your home base. Just ask; you're most welcome. Getting AroundJust off the M4 entering into the Mountains, its an easy location for Sydneysiders wanting a weekend away with an easy trip back home. Lots of my guests have a great holiday using public transport. Borrow the bicycles if you wish....take them on the train... ride along the river... For overseas guests, hire cars can be picked up from the airport, or Sydney City locations as well as nearby Penrith, which you can travel to via trains from Central. I occasionally ask my guests about their choice of hire car so I can share current information with future travellers. Other Things to NoteKitchenette facilities are suited to organise prepared and semi prepared food items, and light meals. There is no cook-top provided, the premises are not licensed to have a full kitchen. There are ample food outlets nearby that provide cooked meals at prices to suit all budgets. Please advise me if you have special needs regarding health or accessibility or food requirements, so that we can both check if Wombat's is suited to your needs, before making a reservation. If you are requesting your pet accompany you as a guest; please discuss their needs prior to making a reservation. Close to all main amenities but need a car as there is very limited public transport. Many restaurants in Penrith or St.Marys town centers about 10 minutes drive away. A good base for trips to Blue Mountains national park and Sydney as Penrith is half way between the two locations. Getting AroundWe are located in a rural area not close to public transport so you really need to be in a car if you stay with us. 10 minutes drive to Penrith city. 1 hour drive to Sydney CBDs 1 hour to Katoomba . Other Things to NoteIf you are environmentally friendly you will appreciate how all food scraps are fed to the horses, dogs or birds. The rubbish is recycled, our electricity is solar powered our water is rain water and we ask you to switch off your lights when not in use.

The SpaceThere are three bedrooms on the entry level (one single, one queen and one twin) as well as two bathrooms and a study. Three steps down take you to the living level containing a large formal lounge-dining room and a family kitchen TV and dining area. Both living spaces flow out to the deck that overlooks the Glenbrook National Park. The laundry room is down a flight of stairs that also lead out to the bushy backyard. There are plenty of books, board games and puzzles in the home and free Wi-Fi and television are available. It is a clean and comfortable home, fully furnished with towels and bed linen provided. Guest AccessThe whole space will be yours while you are here. I will retain one additional room to keep my personal items in. There is also a separate apartment downstairs that will be tenanted. There is something in the area for everyone. Glenbrook Village, which is just a short walk from home, has much to offer – great restaurants and cafes, gift and old wares shops as well as nice boutiques. Getting AroundGlenbrook is just off the M4 motorway about one hours drive from the center of Sydney. It can be accessed by train, which also takes about one hour from Central Railway Station.

He keeps to himself, is quiet and is usually out most days. He is a smoker and smokes on the balcony with doors/windows closed. If this bothers you, this may not be the listing for you. Sometimes though this may not be possible depending on your arrival and our schedule. We will make other arrangements if need be. The NeighborhoodKingswood is located smack bang right in the middle of the CBD and the Blue Mountains (Katoomba). It's 49 kilometres west from Sydney cbd which takes roughly 1 hour by train and only 15mins to reach the lower mountains. The Sydney international regatta centre is a few minutes drive away. Enjoy attractions such as the nepean river, white water rafting, wakeboarding, kayaking and indoor sky diving which are all close by. Kingswood has an eclectic mix of people from the true blue westie to the students attending either University of Western Sydney or Kingswood TAFE. Getting AroundFree visitors parking, free street parking. Kingswood train station 350m away- 5mins walk. Local buses available depending on where you need to go. Other Things to NoteApartment is located on the second floor walk up. This is an apartment building and most of this side of the block is apartments/duplex/townhouses. There will be the usual apartment noise, mostly it is quiet and you'll hear the birds, but sometimes you may hear music, talking. I have hired a cleaner and now charge a small surcharge for cleaning. During longer stays I provide a cleaner mid stay. There is a pool that can be seen from your room, if it gets really hot, I would suggest just walking over and jumping in! (with clothes of course!)

Private foyer entrance, free off street parking. Reception at Glenbrook rail station-if requested. Some rail noise at night, due to the excellent location within 100 metres of Glenbrook Village and railway station, however all internal and external walls in the building have been soundproofed. Guest Access1 night minimum booking. The queen bedroom with ensuite and front foyer with secure access in main house is offered. I often make up a breakfast tray and leave it for guests in your entrance foyer, then you have extra privacy in your room. Please let me know if there are further items which you need. Placing guest food in the family fridge is possible. All guests have their own private area and you will only see other guests if you enter into my lounge or kitchen area. Interaction with GuestsI will be in residence to assist you, but you will have plenty of privacy as well in your own suite. The NeighborhoodA fantastic relaxing village location at the beginning of the beautiful Blue Mountains region, we are walking distance from the Glenbrook entrance to the Blue Mountains National Park. Ideal for village life, cafe culture, Rotary Food Markets, Bush walking, Native Flora and Fauna, Nepean River, Olympic Regatta Centre, Whitewater Rafting, mountain biking, bush-walking and abseiling. Check the visitors guidebook on my other listing, Wombats@Glenbrook. This room does have some railway noise at night time. I sleep through it, as do most guests. But this listing is excellent if you want to travel without a car, or if you are travelling for work and want somewhere clean, cosy, safe and convenient where you will be welcomed and your travel needs respected. Getting AroundPublic transport is relatively good, we are a very short walking distance from train and bus stops. Free off street parking, including security surveillance. Bicycles by arrangement. There is some railway noise, but we also have soundproofing. there is a heater available for your room in cooler times, but no room air-conditioning at this time. Offering 5 bedrooms and two bathrooms and a third toilet, this house comes fully furnished and equipped with all mod cons and right down to your linen and tea towels. Relax and have a barbecue on your private balcony with bush outlook. King parrots, rainbow lorikeets and other birds visit daily. The house is set high up on the block so the easiest access is via the inclinator or for those more fit you could take the 66 stairs! The main dining room boasts an open fireplace. Reverse cycle airconditioning as well as in the main lounge room. This house would easily accomodate two families and the price includes electricity.     The SpaceThis charming, original home in Glenbrook has everything for a relaxing blue mountains escape. There are 2 generous living areas, in addition to a huge sunroom plus loads of little nooks around the house so everyone has their own space, plus plenty of hiding spots for the kids. There is a huge Springfree trampoline, plenty of toys, books, games, wifi, fully equipped kitchen and BBQ and bushy front and backyards offering plenty of privacy and wildlife. The backyard backs onto bush, with only a few houses having access to this bush, it is very private and offers great little walking tracks and space for the kids to roam free to discover the bush land and creeks. Guest AccessThe entire house is yours for your stay. We want you to feel at home in our mountains retreat, so please treat it as your own. The driveway is long (and beware, it is steep) so there is ample off street parking. We call it our "cabin in the woods" and love coming here most weekends for some time out from the city. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Interaction with GuestsWith small children of our own, we are busy and plan to leave you to relax and enjoy your stay. We don't live in the area, though we are only a phone call away if needed. The NeighborhoodGlenbrook village is a must stop for travellers in the Blue Mountains, and fortunately for you, it is only a few minutes away. With an array of cute and cosy cafes, bakeries, boutique shops and gourmet dining options. Glenbrook is the gateway to the Blue Mountains, 1 hour from Sydney and less from Katoomba and Leura. Though you don't need to leave Glenbrook, as there is fantastic hiking, walking, swimming in natural gorges, or the public pool, eating and shopping all within 10 minutes of the house. Getting AroundThere is a bus stop beside the driveway for services to Penrith. You may also walk quite easily walk to either Glenbrook or Blaxland train stations, both about 15 minute walk, or a 1 minute drive. Other Things to NoteWe appreciate you being mindful of the environment and expenses, and ask that you switch off air conditioning and heating when not at home and at night. The house is usually a very moderate temperate and enjoys fresh mountain air with the windows open. Being competitively priced for what you get, we appreciate you being mindful of this. Please also understand, this is an original mountains home, and is priced as such, so while it may not be up to a 5 star standard, we think this adds to the charm. We provide clean, comfy beds and plenty of space in a prime location, considered 'the gateway to the mountains'.

The host wakes up and goes to work early in the morning, so when I open the garage door at 5 am in the morning some people may find it noisy. Also I go to bed early around 9pm so like not to be disturbed around these times. The NeighborhoodClose to all the attractions of Penrith ; Panthers, Tench reserve, White water stadium and Regatta Centre/ Penrith lakes. 50 minutes drive to Katoomba.
