Many people consider Belmont Heights to be among the most desirable in Long Beach. It is adjacednt to the beach without being inundated with tourists in summer. In the early 20th Century Long Beach was a destination resort -- a place to escape the summer heat of Los Angeles. Some homes in the now affluent Belmont Heights and adjacent neighborhoods were originally built as summer cottages. By the 1920s homes in Belmont Heights and nearby neighborhoods were built as permanent year 'round residences. Many of the homes are in the California Craftsman Bungalow style. This area became what many call "Bungalow Heaven" because it has the most Craftsman bungalow style homes of any area of Long Beach. You will also find Spanish Revival and Mediterranean homes as well as charming cottage style houses along the tree-lined streets in Belmont Heights. Belmont Heights is less congested and significantly quieter than Belmont Shore or Naples Island and within a few minutes walk to the beach. Just a few minutes down the street you will come upon Second Street it is the heart of the Belmont Shore community and it is busy with locals and tourists from dawn to the middle of the night. Lots of great restaurants and unique shops! Second Street is the busiest shopping street in Long Beach. And there always seems to be a party or something else fun going on nearby

VINA VILLA, Oia, Santorini: I INVITE you to visit OIA, the northwestern village on the unique island of SANTORINI. Shaped by volcanic eruptions over 3000 years ago, the island’s caldera, with its cliffside caves and panoramic views, is an experience you will never forget. VINA VILLA is a spacious, independent, two story house located at the top of the cliff which overlooks the picturesque harbor of Amoudi. Its bedroom balcony has an unparallelled view of the volcanic isles & caldera. The living/dining room has a sofa (accommodating a third person) plus a volcanic stone fireplace ---for those choosing a winter holiday! An internal staircase leads to the floor above with a double bedroom & its lovely balcony. Beyond the living room is a complete kitchen –with an electric stove & oven, a fridge and a double sink. Beyond that is the bathroom, containing a shower, a sink with a marble counter top, & a toilet. There is also a large automatic washing machine. Outside, in front of the house, there is a large deck with another table, director’s chairs and potted plants -overlooking the 250 cobbled stairs leading down to the charming harbor of Amoudi where you can swim, dine in a fish taverna or take a boat tour to the Volcanic Isles and Thirasia. There is also a road to Amoudi, if you don’t fancy walking. The village has a pedestrian marble pathway, high above the caldera with panoramic views of the entire island. It begins above VINA VILLA and ends at St.George’s Church at the Fira road entrance to Oia. It is filled with charming gift shops, restaurants, cafes & wine bars, bookshops, art galleries, private chapels, and mini-markets. Midway is the main square with its blue domed Orthodox Church; a minute away is the Bus and Taxi Square -a short 5 minute walk from VINA VILLA. From here you can begin your exploration of SANTORINI and visit all that the island offers: the excavation of the prehistoric Minoan village of Akroteri, the impressive citadel of Pyrgos,
the black, volcanic sand beaches of the eastern coast of the island where you can swim and enjoy water sports. Or the Hellenic ruins at Ancient Thira, etc. FACILITIES: Twice weekly cleaning service with sheets & bath towels provided; Internet & WiFi connection. Plus local information on places of interest on the island, access to information on car/bike rentals, local tours, boat excursions, etc. Electric heating & fireplace for winter visitors; fans for summer. SPECIAL OFFERS: SIGNIFICANTLY reduced price arrangement for long-term rentals, i.e., a month or more - please ask me directly for a quote. VINA VILLA is located in the village of Oia, Santorini Island in the Cyclades, Greece. The house is at the top of the cliffside, above the harbor of Amoudi, facing the outer island of Thirasia. It is at the very beginning to the main pedestrian pathway that extends to St George's Church at the eastern end of the village -about a 15 minute walk. One must park and then walk to this main path to see the village. Vina Villa is two minutes from the Kinotita/Post Office parking (where taxi wlll drop you off), or from the Kyklos Parking -off the Amoudi Road. Thus it is a very quiet, picturesque spot with a unique view of the caldera 250 meters below. The Bus Square is a five minute pedestrian walk from the Villa. The Supermarkets are located on the BusSquare and Main Fira road. The shops and restaurants and hotels, etc, line the cliffside and main path. KTEL, the national bus system, operates from the hub center, Fira. Local buses connect Oia with Fira every half hour; cost per ticket is 1.60e. The taxi costs 15e to Fira and 25e to either the airport or the port of Athinios (about 30 minutes).

Exploring further afield, visit Middleton Beach and Emu Point, both ideal for relaxing family outings offering tree shade for picnics, cafe amenities and calm beach waters for easy swimming and sand play. Albany town ---------------- Albany is part of what is coined "Rainbow Coast": Albany, Denmark & Walpole on the South Coast of Western Australia. Albany is an historic town, laying claim to several "firsts": being the spot where the first European settlers set foot and permanently settled in Western Australia - predating Perth and Fremantle; and from where the first convoy of ANZACs departed for the battlefields of the First World War. Albany town centre is about a 15-20 minute drive away. Stroll along its main York Street to explore its diverse selection of fashion and homewares boutiques, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Beyond Albany town -------------------------- Many attractions await... enjoy Whale Watching (prime season is between July and September), visit Whale World (Australia's last mainland whaling station, closed in 1978) and being on the boarder to Tondirup National Park, see for yourself The Natural Rock Bridge and The Gap (both once connected to the Antarctic!), Blowholes, Salmon Holes and eco-friendly wind turbines at Albany Wind Farm - all are well signposted and easy nearby drives. Be as active as you wish with a variety of tranquil bush, forest walks and coastal paths to take in the rugged sights, from easy-going strolls to more active half-day treks. Eat well, drink finely ------------------------- A favourite of ours, The Albany Farmer's Market opens every Saturday (8am-12 noon, get there early!) showcasing fresh, local seasonal fruits, veggies, and produce from real local farmers. Albany is one of five sub-regions of the Great Southern wine region, the largest wine region in Australia. Drive a bit further to neighbouring towns (e.g. Denmark) to stop by cellar doors for a wine tasting at internationally recognised local wineries. We recommend checking out the official Albany Australia Tourist Guide Association website for the latest updates on year-round attractions, activities and festivities. Getting AroundOff-street car parking is available next to the beach home entrance and along its private driveway. Albany Town Centre is about a 20-minute drive.
