Our guest room has a twin bed, which will sleep one person comfortably.
We provide all bed linens needed. The room is furnished with a large closet, antique buffet, sturdy desk, swivel chair, alarm clock with CD player and quality keyboard. This room can’t be locked from the outside. Ethernet and/or WiFi are available. We do have a copier/scanner/printer which may be used for a small fee.
Guests will enjoy a colorful semi private bathroom, located in the narrow hallway leading to the guest room. The bathroom is not attached to the guest room and on occasions may be shared with one other guest. Towels, a hairdryer and basic necessities are provided.
HOUSE, YARD AND SUCH
All rooms are on one level and we’re inviting guests to share our common area. We have been told we have a beautiful backyard, which we’re glad to share with friends and visitors. You may enjoy a peaceful afternoon reading, play with our dogs* - if you like them, watch an occasional hummingbird or nearby horses and enjoy the sunset, plus a campfire if the weather cooperates. If you like the outdoors, campfires and animals you have come to the right place.
(*Our dogs are usually confined to the front yard when we have guests.)
You may use our washer, dryer and refrigerator within reason. We will provide a satisfying European style breakfast. For example: Toast, jam, cold cuts, cheese, boiled egg, cake, and coffee or tea.
Our family lives on the south side of Grangeville, just outside city limits. The property is surrounded by hay fields and cattle pastures. - Directions will be provided after booking.
Grangeville has an in- and outdoor movie theater, museum, library, outdoor swimming pool, two gyms, restaurants, a nice cafe, two grocery stores, and all essential merchants, plus doctor offices one may need. Visitors can pamper themselves to a relaxing massage or cranial sacral session.
There is no public transportation in town. But we do have a Greyhound bus station. Visitors will need a car to truly explore the area.
WINTER: There is a little ski area, groomed cross country, and snow mobile trails just 6 miles outside of town.
SUMMER: Many people come for steel-head and salmon fishing, rafting and jet boat adventures during the summer months. The Salmon- and Clearwater Rivers have nice beaches anyone can enjoy. Our beautiful back country is vast and suited for mountain biking, hiking backpacking and horseback riding. Outfitters are offering their services to guide you on river-, hunting- and horseback adventures.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST
I am currently homeschooling our 10 year old son, which is keeping me busy until 2 pm during the week. (September through June). I will not have time to visit with guests during this time.
We tend to go to bed around 10 and need a quiet house after that time.
IMORTANT: No smoking- of anything! No drunkenness. We will respect your privacy and kindly ask you to respect ours! Our small family loves people from all walks of life. Sharing your and our life experiences, understanding and laughing can be part of your experience staying with us – if you choose to share.
We are fluent in English and German. Our son is learning Spanish, which he can communicate in, if encouraged and Chinese (beginner).
