The SpaceThe lovely thing about Grassy Head Getaway is the peace and quiet – plus the ocean and bushland views, of course! Your bedroom is large, with queen-sized ensemble bed, polished parquetry floors, hotel quality-bed linen, your own en suite bathroom and TV. Your breakfast includes an organic local muesli made by our neighbours, as well as eggs any which way, bread/toast and toppers including homemade jam. The wraparound deck is scattered with seating so you can choose you favouirite spot. Guest AccessSitting on the deck is a fabulous way to enjoy Grassy Head Getaway, with tables and chairs arranged to make the most of the views. The property is 7.4 hectares (20 acres) and it's worth checking out views of the ocean, farmland and National Park from the many vantage points. My husband and I planted many native trees on the property to restore the environment and create habitat for wildlife. Breakfast is served on the deck, or help yourselves if you like. For stays of two nights or more, it's fine to use the washing machine. Please check with me about the settings, though, because we rely on rain to fill our tanks and water is precious. Interaction with GuestsPeace and privacy are yours at Grassy Head Getaway. But you might bump into butcher birds, goannas, wallabies, cheeky little wrens, bright golden bower birds and fat kookaburras. I'm happy to tell you all I can to make your stay memorable, and my personal guidebook also details some of the local highlights. The NeighborhoodThis is a small, close-knit community and very environmentally conscious. Our nearest village is sleepy little Stuarts Point, a few minutes drive from here. This area is unspoilt, undeveloped and boasts a natural beauty that you won't find in many parts of the coast. Getting AroundThere's no public transport here, so you'll need your car and/or a bike. Other Things to NoteMEALS Breakfast consists of local homemade Rainforest Muesli with Davison Plums, fresh fruit, plus Tea and Coffee. Gillian will make you a delicious dinner if you like (vegetarians and vegans happily catered for!) for $18 a head for two courses. For example, Creamy Tarragon Chicken with mash and greens, followed by Homemade Frozen Mango Yogurt with seasonal fruit. Otherwise, we'll point out the local eateries for you. There are plenty of good places to eat. Bear in mind that kitchens usually close at 8pm.

The SpaceUninterrupted views of beach from Hat Head to Smokey Cape Luxurious beach house set high on 2.5 acres of bushland backing onto Hat Head National Park Direct bush access to private Connors beach 5 minute walk to inlet & Hat Head beach Hat Head - a remote beachside setting between Crescent Head and South West Rocks - the perfect getaway Whale watching from Panorama's deck Fully equipped 3br house with master bedroom wing with ensuite and private deck - both other bedrooms have access to another private deck with views to the sea and national park. Living room with an open fire for those cooler months. The bedroom configuration is as follows: The master bedroom suite has a ensuite (with large bath and separate shower) and private balcony with beach views and a queen size bed. There are two other bedrooms, each with two single beds and a balcony also with views of the beach and the national park. (In one of these bedrooms, the two single beds are designed to fit together and create a king-sized bed.) There is another bathroom (with bath and separate shower) associated with these bedrooms. The total sleeping accommodation is for six people. The NeighborhoodLocation & Attractions Panorama is approximately 4.5hrs north from Sydney. Hat Head is located in Hat Head National Park being about 25 minutes north of Crescent Head and 35 minutes south of South West Rocks. Also, for the 4WD enthusiast, both Crescent Head and SWR are accessible via the beach from Hat Head. Panorama is located high on a ridge in the National Park on The Gap side of Hat Head. This area must be one of the most unspoilt areas of the NSW North Coast, being totally surrounded on the northern and east sides by beaches and national park to the west and south. The main Hat Head beach is protected and is a beautiful swimming beach. Surfing is best off the point and at Conners Beach (directly accessible from Panorama!). Hat Head is renowned for its fishing and whale watching - being the closest point to the Continental Shelf in NSW. Panorama is an excellent base for exploring the Hat Head National Park, and many a number of deserted beaches are within easy reach. Other Things to NoteLinen is not provided. This is because Hat Head is in a relatively remote location and there is no commercial laundry servicing the area, so I cannot provide a regular linen service. As far as I know, all holiday houses in the area do not provide linen for the same reason. I can however, make a special arrangement for one-off occasions with the cleaner to provide linen (bed sheets, pillow cases and towels) for an additional charge of $60. Please let me know if you want this option and I will make an adjustment to the booking fee.

The SpaceThe one bedroom apartment is part of my house and its incredibly private and quiet. The beauty of taking a dip in the river which is just across the road or take a leisurely 10 minute walk to Stuarts Point Beach where you can see a stunning vista all the way to South West Rocks is but a few breathtaking activities you can do in this quaint little fishing village. There is great surf at Grassy Head Beach so bring a board or just an umbrella, sunnies and hat and do nothing but lounge , if you drive for 10 mins to popular Scotts Head beach you have a more gentle and long surf break (great for the kiddies!), most of the beaches here are awesome walking beaches and go for miles... Bush walks right from the house in many scenic directions, one of my favourite ones is from Stuarts Point to Grassy Head, along the river. The other is from Grassy Head you walk up the fire trail to Yarrahapinni Mountain through an incredible rainforest. I also have one bike.... If your'e into scuba diving South West Rocks has a very famous dive through cave...Ive dine the dive and its awesome, highly recommended! There is the option of a BBQ outside and in the apartment we have a two plate little portable stove and grill for easy and simple cooking, pots and pans are in the cupboard. I leave a couple of breakfast items like assorted fruit or muesli, olive oil for BBQ, etc. Or if you feel like getting out and being social you might like enjoying the country cuisine this quaint little fishing village offers a local very popular Bowling Club Chinese and The Yarrahapinni Tavern w bargain $10 meals if you feel like getting out and being social and enjoying the country cuisine. Both have pool/snooker tables and are in easy walking distance.. There is a Post Office, Friendly Grocery Store and cafe (also take out food) which are all in walking distance. Too easy.... Nature is in abundance and if you sit in the back yard you will sight King Parrots, Kookaburras, Lorikeets, Rozella's...not to mention many smaller species. And of course most times you will get to see a wallaby or two. We're not even 10 mins drive off the highway, perfect for breaking up long road trips. Its pretty tranquil and a classically coastal setting. If you have a pet please talk to me and we can discuss the details and see if it would work or not due to me having a cat... :) Ps: I'm happy not to charge a cleaning fee so please when you exit my humble abode, leave it how you found it apart from vacuuming and linen change otherwise unfortunately I will have to charge a cleaning a fee... Guest AccessWHEEL CHAIR ACCESS Interaction with GuestsIm happy to welcome you here and then leave you to your own space. If you need anything or want to know anything about the area please don't hesitate to ask... The NeighborhoodThe serenity....the bush...the river and ocean.... perfection in what nature and life has on after. Coastal bliss, peace and relaxation... Other Things to NoteJust near the caravan park there is a BBQ area which you can use for free and its a fabulous location right on the river at the foot of the bridge..great for picnic-ing!

Situated half way between Sydney and Brisbane, 20 minutes from Macksville and 5 minutes from the coast our rustic cottage is a 100 year old workers hut on what was a dairy or beef farm. It has been partially renovated but is still quirky and unfinished. There is a rough kitchen, a functional bathroom and a lovely lounge area with polished boards and no TV. There are two bedrooms, one with a luxurious king sized bed and another with twin single beds. There is also another queen bed in the main area. Out door living is the best part of life here so the cottage has a big veranda with plenty of seating so you can hang around, BBQ and generally relax. We are 5 minutes drive (30 min walk) through the National Park to pristine Grassy Head Beach....not a house to be seen from the beach. There is generally surf at Grassy so bring a board. Go mountain biking in the National Park, snorkle at the beach or just laze about with a good book. We are 15 minutes from Scotts Head where there is a great cafe and a more gentle surf break. The phone reception here is pretty poor so think of it as a technology free holiday if you wish (desperate technophiles can find a spot with reception on the edge of the veranda).

Beautiful scenery, numerous beaches, and man-made attractions such as Trial Bay Gaol and Smoky Cape Lighthouse are popular tourist attractions. Because of the warm ocean in the area fed by the East Coast current which flows down from the tropical regions it is possible to swim all year round. This also with its natural beauty makes it a sought after holiday destination.
