Pets are very welcome ~ they're part of the family, right? Smoking outside, please. Oh, and no burning candles inside the house. Thanks! Guest AccessGuests will have access to the two-car garage. Everyone who lives on this country lane enjoys the solitude and feeling of living away from the city. Getting AroundYou'll need your car to get into town or to the county trails. There are two bikes available ~ a nice way to get to some of the trails or Moomers (-; Other Things to NoteThe Cottage Manual will be on the dining room table.

The SpaceThis is a cute condo-style cottage on a private resort peninsula between Traverse City and the Interlochen Center for the Arts. It sleeps a couple in spacious king comfort or 4 guests w/ reduced privacy because the floor plan has walk-through bedrooms. It functions better for a family than for two couples because the king room is decidedly preferable to the second bedroom in luxury, accessibility, and spaciousness. There is a newer full-size futon in the smaller second bedroom (No A/C - a big fan instead); king bed in the large loft bedroom, no A/C a big fan instead. Large A/C window unit in lower level brings cooler air up to the loft bedroom. Guest AccessShared swimming area, community playground, and a convenience store up the road that delivers not only pizza and sandwiches but beer and wine! (Marshmallows too if you ask). (Their delivery menu is in your cottage.) Your fire pit is also accessible to guests at Doggy Daze, my cottage next door. Interaction with GuestsYou will probably not meet me unless something comes up. There is a lock with push buttons that I will code for you before your arrival so no key is needed. Be SURE to get your code from me after you reserve! The NeighborhoodThis peninsula is very respected for its old time charm, with log cabins and fishermen's cabins that have been passed down through generations. The campfires glow and the pontoon boats putter around. Traffic is slow, people walk their dogs along the road, and Traverse City is only 15 minutes (about 6 miles). Interlochen Center for the Arts has a concert schedule (online) and is very close by. Getting AroundNo public transportation. You can bring a kayak and launch it at the waterfront or at many sites in Traverse City. Other Things to NoteFido must be past the chewing stage and is housebroken. Linens are not provided. Please bring towels, and sheets for a king bed and a full bed. I provide a few clean blankets and throws to cover upholstered furniture.

The SpaceThis apartment is unique due to its spaciousness, privacy and large upper deck. The bar area and fire pit on the deck provide a pretty view and relaxing atmosphere. Inside, there is plenty of room to stretch out and relax while enjoying the large flat screen TVs or visiting with your friends and family. The kitchen, dining and sleeping area are spacious and well stocked to take care of all needs. All bedding etc. (towels blankets and sheets are washed in an unscented and non-perfumed detergent). The sleeping area accommodates 5 adults (2 queen beds). This is a second floor accommodation. An outside stairway leads to the large deck with your own private entrance. Although we have had children as guests, the apartment is best suited for adults as we do not provide cribs, high chairs etc. We strive to provide an enjoyable time for our guests! Guest AccessComplete access to everything in this apartment is yours to enjoy as it is not shared. Inside there are 2 flat screen tvs with NetFlix, Hulu and dvd capability. Kitchen has a full size refrigerator, stove oven, microwave and toaster (all pot, pans and utensils provided). Bathroom towels and bedroom linens included as well. Large outside deck has a bar area, fire pit (wood included), gas grill and plenty of beautiful stars on a clear night! Interaction with GuestsWe interact with guests upon check in and then let the guest make the choice of how much interaction they would like from there. We've had many guests just come and go as they like without much interaction but we've also sat around the fire pit with guests and enjoyed that as well. The space is very private and separate but we are available if there is a need or concern. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is not only pretty to look at but is quiet, relaxing and has a vacation like feel to it. You'll see boats headed down to the lake in the summer but traffic is never heavy. It is also very common to see joggers, bikers and people out walking their pets. Getting AroundThere is a bus system in down town Traverse City (BATA) although most people would drive their own car here or rent a car. Other Things to NoteThere are so many enjoyable things to do and see in the Traverse City area. We provide maps, restaurant brochures and an app for your smart phone for local information.

The SpaceEnjoy the peace and beauty of scenic Long Lake from the privacy of your own lakeside vacation spot! This home is very spacious and features a lovely deck overlooking the lake, breathtaking views of the water from the kitchen, living, dining and sun rooms, and sleeping accommodations for 14. The Home: On the main floor you will find a fully supplied kitchen, spacious dining room, comfy living room and sun room, and 3 bedrooms. A beautiful (but non-functional, unfortunately) double-sided fireplace divides the dining and living rooms. The main floor bedrooms have a king in the master, a double in the second bedroom, and two twins in the third. The main floor also has 2 full bathrooms. In the finished basement there is a third bedroom with 3 twin beds, a sitting area with a queen sleeper sofa, and a trundle bed (2 twins). There is also a twin-sized foldaway bed that can be used anywhere in the house to accommodate an extra guest. In addition to the adult sleeping options, the home also has a toddler bed and travel crib for your little ones. Our home is located on Long Lake Peninsula and we absolutely love the neighborhood. Everyone is very friendly and it's a very nice community. There is a nice playground and park in the center of the peninsula that our kids love to explore, and they even have a neighborhood fun-run every summer! Long Lake is less than 9 miles from downtown Traverse City, one of the most gorgeous and popular vacation destinations in the country. The shopping, dining and entertainment of downtown are just a 15 minute drive away whenever you want to explore the city. Long Lake itself is the warmest, cleanest lake in the area. The area right in front of our house is quite shallow for a long distance into the lake, so it's safe for kids to play without a worry of a dangerous drop off. The lake has several islands, including two with docks, restrooms, and hiking trails. You could spend your whole visit never leaving the lake and not run out of things to explore! Guest AccessThere is a gas grill in the garage that can be easily used in the front or back of the home and 2 propane tanks will be available to guests. This home has terrific water frontage and lake access with a nice dock. For guests who have watercraft, our home is only about a block away from the neighborhood boat launch. We've loads of water toys on hand for use by our guests, including things like foam noodles, floating rafts, snorkels, etc. There is ample space for parking in the large driveway, but unfortunately no parking space is available in the garage as it is used for storage. The home also has a wireless internet modem that you are welcome to use. Interaction with GuestsAlthough we may not be locally available during our guests' stay, our neighbors are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about our home. They are almost always on-hand to answer questions or deal with unexpected problems, and keep us in the loop if anything needs our attention. If your requested dates are less than a few weeks away, we will consider relaxing this policy on a case-by-case basis. Thanks!

Swanky love nest with complementary local wines and an outdoor fire pit. Original art throughout, professional decor, clean, charming, romantic! It has a sister property adjoining it, Blue Moon Hideaway, also on this website, for couples or families traveling together. Shared beach access 1/3 mile (private association). 2 bikes available for use on peninsula only please. This peninsula is safe, historic, and beautifully situated just ten minutes from both Traverse City and the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Completely rehabbed it has a West Indies vibe, an attached gazebo room, a bedroom sundeck, wet bar 1 in king bedroom, an electric fireplace on a glass block hearth, and more classy ambiance than most cottages. DVD player in BR - bring your favorite videos. There is a second bedroom with a new comfy futon on frame which pulls out into a full size bed but this bedroom is accessed by walking through the king bedroom and bath - it is wonderful for secure sleeping for two children - it also works well for an office workspace as there is a small desk big enough for a laptop and small printer . WiFi and cable TV. This is a highly-respected "Up-North" resort peninsula with 4th-generation summer homes. It is on Long Lake, a wonderful lake. Traverse City and Interlochen Center for the Arts are each 6 miles away. Starry Starry Night is owned by a former Washington DC interior designer who has created a little gem for you. I have it treated throughout the season so mosquitoes should be virtually eliminated.
