Welcome to 'The Old End' in the peaceful village of Sheldon, three miles from Bakewell, Derbyshire in the heart of the stunning Peak District National Park. 'The Old End', new to holiday letting, is a two bedroom character cottage and is believed to be the oldest standing building in Sheldon - a building resembling the current footprint is shown on the Senior Map of 1617 and it is thought that the window on the gable end predates this. It has many original features, sympathetically restored but with modern amenities including under-floor heating, log burning stove and a downstairs toilet. With a pub just up the road serving delicious food - who could ask for more? Please be aware that the cottage has varying levels and that the double bedroom has a quirky, low entry access which we have tried to show on the photos. We provide an initial supply of basic items such as logs, toilet roll, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll, cling film, salt & pepper, cooking oil, tea, coffee, milk, sugar and the yummy, locally made, 'Bakewell Brownies' (when available). It has off road parking for two cars and its own garden at the front with views towards the village and surrounding countryside. Booking notes: We can not accept children under 5 years of age due to the varying levels. PLEASE CONTACT US PRIOR TO BOOKING WITH REGARD PETS. As Fridays and Mondays are our usual 'in and out' days you may experience a problem selecting the dates you require if they differ, please use 'Contact the owner', enter dates starting/ending with a Friday or a Monday that are closest to the dates you would like to stay, add a message stating your required dates and I will then be able to edit your quote.
