Landscape garden Putney is, comfortably, one of the capital’s prettiest pictures. So spellbinding are its leafy commons and lush, winding riverbanks, it can be hard to look away. Fortunately, no one needs to. Dryburgh Road is a home which gives the great outdoors an open invitation. With its wide concertina doors flung back, garden and ground floor become one: spacious, stylish and wildly bright. Whether you’re lunching al fresco, lounging in the drawing room, or have eyes only for the toys and trampoline, in this home you can do it all – at once. As for the centre of town? A mere half hour away. Look again Your hosts love to keep active, and there are few better places to walk, cycle or enjoy a kickaround than here. He is a stockbroker, she a freelance administrator, and they have three children. All make for Cornwall whenever they can, for its surfing and sea air. The luncheon on the grass Turn key in lock and head indoors. We say indoors, but in a home like this you can never be sure. Certainly not in the dazzling sitting room and kitchen, where concertina doors give a new meaning to the words ‘open plan.’ The landscape view of the garden is a beauty, and, with those doors thrown open, you won’t be able to tell where the lawn starts and the sitting room stops. Tumble into a sofa and awe at the designer lighting overhead, or go for a good roam among the trees and pretty flowerbeds. You can dine inside or out, while the kitchen boasts slick black surfaces and silvery barstools. The drawing room really is as grand as it sounds, with shuttered windows and period ceiling plasterwork. Both the double bedroom and distinctly elegant master boast impressive ensuites, while the little ones can choose from a cute bunk-bedded room, a girly single and a boyish single. You’ve also a bathroom with sloping ceilings and sweet wooden sailing boats. Panorama Pack a picnic and make for the common, home to woodlands, wetlands and some rather pretty walks. Barnes is a riverside village in the city, and you’ve even a farmers’ market to keep you well-fed each Saturday. Pop over Putney Bridge to find Fulham’s pubs and fashion labels, or roam a little further to Chelsea’s snazzy shops and eateries. The trip from East Putney to Piccadilly Circus takes around half an hour. Additional amenities include: video game console, iron & ironing board, hob, toiletries, cafetiere, music player, hairdryer, onefinestay iphone. Cancellation Policy No-quibble cool-off period. Provided you book more than seven days before the start of your stay, you can cancel your booking no questions asked within 24 hours of making it, and we will refund 100% of any charges. Early cancellation. If you cancel at least 2 weeks before you are due to arrive, we will charge you 50% of the cost of your stay. Late cancellation. I would like to rent out my 2nd room with sofa bed and use of the 2nd bathroom. Finished to the highest of standards and french doors leading onto the garden. 3 mins walk away from Barnes station. Use of the kitchen is fine, but the flat stays clean!
