The SpaceWe live on a river in Northern Ontario, it is quiet, serene & beautiful. You can sit on our front porch. We provide chairs at the front for your coffee in the morning. Our back deck is for our use only. It is very serene & beautiful spot, especially for early birds who love sunrises. We have gotten some beautiful pictures with the mist rising on the river & beavers patrolling the river banks for fresh twigs to eat. Our sunsets are also beautiful on our front porch. We have Muskoka chairs on our lawn for you to enjoy Guest AccessThe guest bedroom has a queen sized bed with freshly laundered bedding and is located in our finished basement, with an on-suite bathroom with a shower & a tub. Also available is a living room with a sofa, where you can relax in privacy. We have a Tossimo single serve coffee/tea machine available downstairs with a microwave & small fridge. The only time we would come down is to do our laundry or use our office. Nice & private for our guests to enjoy Interaction with GuestsWe will be around to answer your questions, but will give you your privacy, also. If you want to talk come on up, but not an all night talk, as we have things to do, but we love meeting new people & talking about their adventures The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is very safe & friendly & a beautiful place to walk, if you like that. Just up the road at the end of our driveway turn left & walk up Morgan Rd, there is a beautiful rapid area, where the fast moving water hits the rocks or take a ride down Morgan Road to the right of our driveway, where there are several sand beaches. Getting AroundWe are 1/2 hr. north from Sudbury on Hwy 144 towards Timmins. We live 2 min. to a library, grocery store, Tim Hortons, & drug store & dollar store where they have Northern gifts. There is an awesome restaurant called the "Doghouse" in Azilda, if you choose to eat out. We have an awesome site, if you like hiking, it is called "High Falls", A.Y. Jackson a famous Canadian painter from the "Group of Seven" painted there. That is just a 5 min drive from here. Lots of rivers to kayak or canoe & even fish if you like, but you will need your own gear, as we do not supply it. I have left some brochures of trails, places to eat & things to do in the Sudbury area. Other Things to NoteThere is a Tim Horton's (coffee shop) as you turn right on highway 144, just over the hill in our small town called Dowling, if you want breakfast, lunch or dinner or in Chelmsford where there are lots of restaurants to choose from. We can also recommend some of our favorite restaurants to you

The SpaceA quiet simple getaway in a private guesthouse right by the lake, in a 4 acre developed private waterfront compound. The "Boathouse" is a quaint 20x11 ft heated cabin with satellite TV, stereo, coffee table, and pull-out couch. The cabin has a full front view of the lake... it will be the first thing you see when you wake up in the morning. A new expanded deck right out the cabin's patio door, right on top of the water. Completed with chairs / table, lounge chair, and BBQ. It's the best deck on the property! There is also a mini fridge inside for your food / drink. The Boathouse Cottage is perfect for a simple quiet time while having access to the amenities offered by the rest of our compound, which are in a cluster steps away. You will have shared access to the rest of Washagami Landing which includes: - sauna (wet/dry) + shower building - nature walk - fully equipped kitchen in the main cottage steps away - stand alone 2 piece washroom building close to your cottage - BBQ on the main deck - dock, fire pit, shoreline - washing machine and dryer - we also have a climbing wall (available $25 / person) - canoes for rent @ $20/day - pontoon boat @ $125/day + fuel We are in the Main Cottage a distance away. The cottages are setup facing different directions with no direction sight of each other, you will have your privacy while having assistance nearby if needed. Lake Washagami is a calm and beautiful lake, great for fishing and other water sports. Fish we have in the lake are: musky, pickerel, pike, small mouth bass. Washagami Landing is 40 acres of land (4 developed) situated on a peninsula - great views on 3 sides with no immediate neighbours, unlike most lakes which are heavily populated by cottages. It's a great spot for a private and secluded retreat! We also have numerous nearby ATV and snowmobile trails. The historical Pine Falls Lodge is only 5 km away (which sadly burned down in March). We run on an automatic generator + battery setup thus we ask our guests to be mindful of their power usage (for ex. no long use of electric heating elements such as hair straightener). Our water is from a 200ft+ artesian aquifer... soft and with no additive, completely safe and healthy to drink. We only have weak cellular signal at one spot of the compound... great way to excuse yourself from the constant connected modern life! We do have a landline if you need to make a phone call. Guest AccessYou will have access to all the shared amenities, and all that nature can offer us in the area. Interaction with GuestsWe will be your friendly neighbour living in the main cottage, help making your stay a wonderful experience! Let us know you need anything and feel free to come share the morning coffee! The NeighborhoodLake Washagami is a calm and beautiful lake, great for fishing, swimming, and canoeing. Our lake is within the Chiniguchi Waterway system, a chain of lakes great for portaging. There are only 2 dozen cottages dispersed throughout the lake (none are near us by land). The oldest cottage on the lake is built in the 1930's; Frank Hart, the "Flying Dutchman", had a family lodge on our lake. We also have numerous nearby ATV and snowmobile trails, and a golf course about 20 minutes drive from us. Getting AroundThere is ample space to park around the property. We are 1 hour drive east of Sudbury, or a bit over 1 hour drive west of North Bay. The last 10 km to our property will be on gravel road and without cellphone reception. Please follow the given driving direction. We are off road and the postal code is only for approximation. GPS / online map has a history of leading guests to the wrong places. Other Things to NotePlease note that we have 1 other guest cottage and 1 yurt, we might have other guests on the compound during your stay. They might be sharing the common elements as well. We will let you know if that's the case. If you are bringing your pet(s) there are no extra charge but please inform us in advance. Thank you! We have extra pillows for them if required; pets are not allowed on the bed. Check-in and out time may be flexible, ask us!

The SpaceThe house is in perfect condition. The walls are all cedar paneled. Washer and dryer in house. TV, DVD and VHS player in living room. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom. Lots of closet space in each bedroom. Only available for a two weekly rental. Great place for a business retreat. Guest Access2 kayaks One small fishing boat with motor. 5 gallons of gas with more available to purchase. Small gas grill. Full run of the island (about an acre) Wild blueberries in season. Long new boat dock with swimming ladder. Interaction with GuestsOwners inhabit an adjoining island. We will not impose and may not even be there. There is a manager on a near by island that is available for help during the weekdays. Either he or an owner will meet you upon arrival and get you acclimated. The NeighborhoodSwim, sun, fish, kayak, hike and explore. Clean water to swim in. Filtered water to wash and drink in the house. Watch mink, muskrats, beaver, eagles, loons and much more. Much of the islands are Canadian Park land and not inhabited. Catch Bass, (large and small mouth) Walleye and Pike in the bay's waters. Getting AroundIf you fly in, Sudbury is the nearest public airport. Rent a car and drive to Stillwater Marina at Birch Island. They have parking and a boat taxi that will bring you out to the island. Details on pricing and contact information will be given at booking. It's a 20 minute boat ride to the island. They can be hired if you wish to go to town and back during the daylight hours. Other Things to NoteAll your food and drink need to be purchased in Espanola or Little Current (the closest towns) and brought out with you when you come. The water in is filtered and drinkable. The water taxi can take you to your car at the landing but we like to stock up so we can spend more time on the islands. For us, cooking delicious meals and coming together at the end of the day is fun.

The SpaceOur little house was built in the early 1940's and is situated in the Donovan, a downtown working class neighbourhood. The suite is a bright basement unit in a single family home and has access to the backyard and covered deck. Since it's a basement unit, the ceiling isn't super high, tall people beware. Guest AccessThis independent suite has its own private entrance inside the house. Interaction with GuestsWe live on the mainfloor of the house and use the backyard every day playing with the dog and letting him do his business. We love to talk up our town, so don't be shy to ask about what's going on, where to visit, where to eat and drink while you are in town. Nous sommes Franco-Ontariennes toutes les deux et aimons beaucoup parler de notre communauté. Faites-nous signe si vous cherchez des activités en français ! The NeighborhoodThe Donovan is an older neighbourhood with a gritty charm, the old meets the new. Every street has a back alleyway which makes for interesting walks. We dare you not to find a church while walking through the neighbourhood (pretty near impossible.) Sudbury also boasts a dozen train tracks running through the city, and one a stone's throw from our house. Gritty charm ! Getting AroundThere is a bus stop thirty seconds from the house (route 14 Kathleen/Collège Boréal) which connects to the downtown bus depot. A parking space is available, which is accessible from our back alley. Downtown is a 10 to 15 minute walk away or a 2 minute drive. The Greyhound station is a 15 minute walk or 10$ taxi ride away. As mentioned, Laurentian University, Health Sciences North Hospital, Science North and Ramsey Lake are all a fifteen minute drive from the house. Other Things to NoteWe have a cat and a dog living with us upstairs. You will most likely meet our dog Alonzo since we go for walks every morning and night. Plus he loves to play in the backyard. He's very friendly and loves people.

The SpaceYurta is a large (over 250 sq ft) and round tensile structure with 3 windows. Experience camping like you never have before! The inside can fit 2 people comfortably with ample living space. And has room for up to 4 people. **Autumn and Winter** The price listed is unheated. For $30/day we can provide fuel with a indoor kerosene heater. Or if you like you can bring your own fuel and use the heater for free. It takes indoor 1k grade kerosene (a full tank takes 1.9 gallon and burns for ~12 hrs). It heats the inside to 10 C when it's around -30 C outside. Unfortunately we cannot use electric heater due to power constrain. The Yurta has a BBQ and simple outdoor cooking area right in front. 10 gallons potable water by the BBQ (for cooking, washing), and 1.5 gallon potable water inside. There are also (minimum) 4 sets of plates, bowls, cups, and cooking / eating utensils. 2 pots, 2 pans, 1 coffee percolator (with a jar of freshly ground coffee!), toaster, kettle, and a mini fridge. Interior furnishing includes a queen size bed, drawers, 1 love seat/futon, 1 coffee/dining table and set of chairs by the window. One portable outhouse by the Yurta. Private lake access is only metres away with solid rock shore! You can walk into the water or launch your own canoe / kayak. The location does NOT have wifi or cell phone reception! It's an off-grid cozy adventure (ok there is power for light usage but you can pretend it's not there). You will feel in tune with and embraced by nature; it's a perfect place to unplug yourself. Please note: Yurta is hidden in the trees about 200 metres away from our cottages area. Yurta guests usually do not share the main cottage compound unless invited or it's necessary. (The main compound has phone and wifi for emergency use). About our location: Lake Washagami is a calm and beautiful lake, great for fishing and other water sports. Washagami Landing and the Yurta is situated on a small peninsula - great views with no immediate neighbours, unlike most lakes which are heavily populated by cottages. It's a great spot for a private and secluded getaway. There is ample space to park by the Yurta. We are 50 minutes drive east of Sudbury, or 1 hour drive west of North Bay. The last 10 km to our property will be on gravel road. Please follow the given driving direction. We are off road and the postal code is only for approximation. GPS / (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) map has a history of leading guests to the wrong places! Yurta is part of Washagami Landing. It can be rented separately or together with our other cabins. Contact us to find out more. Guest AccessThe Yurta area is all yours. Most of the time you are welcomed to come use the cottage amenities as well (sauna, shower, etc.) unless our cottages are rented out for exclusive use. Interaction with GuestsUnless in emergency, or the rare occasion when we need access to the boat launch (which share the same path that goes in front of the yurt), or to invite you for food / fire! We will be out of sight of the yurt area. Typically we are here, on the other side of the trees, at the cottage part of the property if you need anything (2 minutes walk). You are more than welcomed to pop in and join us for morning coffee or when we have a bonfire! Definitely come say your farewell before you check-out! Yurta at Washagami Landing is a serene getaway in a cozy four season Yurta - a modern interpretation of the traditional yurt. Come relax within the Canadian boreal forest and by the calm Washagami Lake. Far away from the hustle and bustle of city life... At the Yurta you are only steps away from the gentle rock shore sloping into the lake; the floating dock is only 50 metres away. The Yurta is setup as a "glamping" - glamorous camping - retreat. All the necessary tools and furnishings are provided as follows: > Queen size bed with warm flannel sheets > Dining table with 2 seats (with expansion for 2 more) > Queen size futon bed / lounge chair > Small Fridge > Radio > Interior lighting > Cookware: pots, pans, BBQ utensils, eating utensils, cups, mugs, plates, bowls > Toaster, electric kettle, stove top kettle, stove top coffee percolator > Potable water in 1.9 drink dispenser and 5 gallon container (for washing dishes etc). > Dish soap and brush > Paper towel, dish cloth, and toilet paper > Various books > BBQ and cooking station outside > Fire pit and picnic table by the water > 2 portable outhouses nearby ** Winter ** For winter we provide heating at $30/day with an indoor kerosine heater; this fee will be included in the seasonal rate. If you prefer you can bring your own fuel (1K kerosine only) and we will rebate you the amount. 1.9 gallons will burn for 8-12 hours (depends on setting). Washagami Landing is a multi-acre complex (4 developed) within the forest by the lake. We are fortunate to be on a small peninsula with a long waterfront and no other cottages beside us. The entire lake is sparsely populated unlike most cottage countries. We have several cottages on the other side of the trees about 2 minutes walk away. At the cottage compound there is internet and phone if required. We will also be in one of the cottages if you need anything. There might be other guests in the cottage compound. The Yurta is very private and can only be seen/heard from the water or from the shore. We have a wood-fired sauna in the cottage compound which usually is for cottage guests, but most of the time it's also available to yurt guests. Only exception is when the entire cottage compound is rented out for exclusive use. Other Notes: > Check-in and check-out usually can be flexible, please inquire. > We also have canoe for rent @ $20/day, snowshoes @ $10/day, firewood @ $20/wheelbarrow
