The NeighborhoodThe Round Lake cottage community hasn't changed much in decades. You will enjoy the nostalgic feel of this vacation community in the heart of the chain of lakes. Because of it's central location on the chain, it does require a 1.2 mile drive off the paved road. The road can be narrow at times as it passes through cottages built early in the last century. You can check out Patterson Drive on the map. Total drive time from the paved road is about 5 minutes.

Located in the center of the highly desired Halfmoon chain of lakes in the Pinckney Recreation Area, Angler's Cove is the perfect choice for those looking for a private piece of lakefront to swim, ski, fish and enjoy the thousands of acres of State forest land this area has to offer. The cottage sits on Round Lake, which is a small, quiet, no-wake lake connected to seven all sports lakes by navigable channels. Connected lakes include Halfmoon Lake with a public swimming beach and boat launch, Bruin Lake which hosts a state park camp ground, Patterson Lake and Hi-land Lake located in Hell, Mi. Why rent a cottage on a lake where you drive in circles all day? Instead come explore the Halfmoon Chain of lakes and boat for hours and never pass the same shoreline. The deep lakes offer wonderful swimming, boating and fishing opportunities. Over half the shoreline of this chain is owned by the State of Michigan, making these lakes much less developed than other lakes in Southern Michigan. The natural beauty and scenery rivals that of Northern Michigan (without the drive). The Pinckney State Recreation Area encompasses thousands of acres of pristine forest land and many hiking/biking trails open to the public. Trails include the Potawatomi and the Waterloo–Pinckney trail. These trails pass through oak and pine forests and glacial features such as eskers and kettle lakes and through swamps and open meadows remaining from fallow farms. The trails offer some of the best hiking, cross country skiing, mountain biking and hunting in the state of Michigan. Enjoy a swim in the clean water, sunbathe in the yard or take a ride in the paddle boat (provided). The dock has plenty of space to park your boat and there is hundreds of acres of water to explore. Pontoon boat rental available for $150 per day (two day minimum) or $1,000 per week. In the evening, warm to a campfire as you gaze at the stars, visit a local pub or explore the city of Ann Arbor just 30 miles to the southeast. The towns of Chelsea, Dexter and Pinckney are all within 15 minutes. Cottage includes flat screen cable tv, wireless internet, full size, fully stocked kitchen with dishwasher and ice maker. Both bedrooms have a quality queen size bed and the kids will love their private sleeping/quiet space in the loft (you'll love it too). Linens provided. After Memorial Day Weekend and before Labor Day Weekend requires a minimum 7 night stay. Check in Friday at 3:00 pm, check out Friday at 11:00 am. The NeighborhoodPinckney, Michigan is a reasonable drive from Ann Arbor (20 minutes or so), Detroit, Flint and Lansing (each under an hour) yet it is located in a rural area, surrounded by 2000+ acres of woods. We enjoy several parks in the region, as well as the well known "Chain of Lakes" ... a group of 9 connected lakes that span a 7 mile area of the Huron River. We also have bike trails, horse riding, fishing, etc. Getting AroundWe are less than an hour from Detroit Airport, about 30 minutes to the Ann Arbor Train Station (the train the goes to Chicago from Ann Arbor is cheap, fast and a LOT of fun too) Other Things to NoteWe have 2 dogs. There are some nice surpises too - we enjoy a local theatre as well as some excellent dining options that we will share with you upon your arrival. Getting AroundWe have ample parking here. Public transportation is not available. However, we'll be happy to arrange transportation if you'd like. Once we understand what you are looking for, we can present pricing/options then.
