The SpaceOne hour from LIR, Centrally located to Miravalles Volcano with hot springs, canopy tour, hiking, and horseback riding. The Cacao Farm Tour (chocolate) is very popular with our guest. A scenic 1-hr drive to the rain forest gets you to this 4 hour tour that includes all the chocolate you can eat plus lunch. The cacao nibs are a favorite gift to take home.
Day tours to Palo Verde National Park 1-hr drive, Rio Celeste 2-hr drive, Rio Tempesque River Tour 2-hr drive, Pacific Beaches 1-hr drive, Rincon de la Vieja National Park 1-hr drive, Canopy Tour, Hot Springs 1/2-hr drive....etc
This Hobbit Cob Cottage was hand built mixing clay, sand, straw, and horse manure by foot into a soupy mixture, then thrown in layers upon layers until the desired height was achieved. The roof, supported by post and beams, was already in place so the walls could be constructed without being affected by weather. With this type of design, your imagination is the only limitation. All of the materials used were from our farm except the sand. It took 1.5 yrs to complete...a labor of love that you will appreciate. Getting here by car is easy on totally paved highway.
Many guest enjoy just relaxing on the covered patio enjoying the view of the forest and valley below. Guest AccessHiking around the trails on this 27-Ac farm you will see a variety of plant and animal life as well as some giant trees.
There are two large friendly dogs and five cats. (the cats is friendly too) .
Nearby is a private waterfall, hot springs, horseback riding, canopy tour, good restaurants, Rincon de la Vieja and Palo Verde Nat'l Parks are close by....etc. Interaction with GuestsGuest willing, we are very cordial and enjoy conversation and having meals together. If, however, you want to spend time alone, we can respect your privacy. The NeighborhoodThere are no neighbors in sight so the environment is very private. Guayabo, 7-Kms north, is the closest town with Service Station, Restaurants, Health Clinic, Drug Stores, Markets, Mechanics, etc. Hot Springs are abundant in the area. A little further away is Bagaces, Fortuna de Bagaces, Canas, and Rincon de la Vieja and Palo Verde Nat'l Parks. Getting AroundYou'll need a car, unless you are content on staying on the farm. Ample parking available. Many people ask if we can recommend a car rental agency....I just ran across a link on Travelocity....(click on cars) that claims to have rates starting at $7/day out of Liberia, Guanacaste!!!!!
There must be a catch...but check it out, they usually get you with outrageous insurance rates.
There are buses that stop 1-Km away that go to nearby towns, but difficult to get to Parks and tourist attractions.
For $100/day, I can provide transportation and be your guide to any of the interesting attractions as mentioned above. I can also pick you up at LIR for $65 each way. Other Things to NoteAdditionally available:
