The Space*The upstairs bedroom is light and airy, with a very comfortable bed and nice linens which will of course be washed just prior to your arrival. Bath towels are in the upstairs bathroom
*Eat-in kitchen is open, well applianced and stocked, dishwasher, Keurig, microwave, crock pot, pantry basics. There will be coffee for the Keurig and a selection of teas.

*The living room is small but relaxing and peaceful, with an electric fireplace for ambiance and some warmth.
*The only TV is in the living room, it's very small, NO cable, but there is a ROKU 3 for streaming net flix and movies via ama zon. Ask me for password if you decide to rent movies, please leave cash for movie rentals.
*Front porch with two rockers.
*Two Adirondack style chairs on the back deck. Small firepit in back yard.
*Lived in and loved, home has some adorable quirks, not a sterile hotel room!
*Guests do have access to the porch, kitchen, back deck, firepit in yard, living room, upstairs comfortable bedroom and bathroom.
*Guests do not have access to the downstairs bedroom, the downstairs bathroom, or the upstairs office.
*This a residential area, there are homes that are close on either side, my neighbors are awesome friendly people, but not obtrusive!
*Shared driveway, just park on my side and it's all good. Or you can park on the street as long as there isn't a blizzard going on!
*This is a really safe neighborhood, I rarely even lock my car, but understand that's a hard habit for many to break :)
Situated just off Rt 9N, you will hear some street noise. This home is not one of those luxurious getaways, most suitable for guests who want to get out and explore, but want a cozy place to come home and relax, as it's comfortable, lived in, and loved. My little town can not be fully appreciated for it's charm if you are just staying for one night and heading out the next day. Please do not leave a poor review for location when I have very accurately described the location and you did not take the time to get out and explore what an amazing neighborhood this is!
If you devote just 30 minutes to taking a walk, you can see 2 rivers, a lake, a waterfall, and 3 gorgeous parks with wooded trails! The town and location will grow on you and get into your soul in a good way!
This home is a work in progress as I slowly go about upgrading it, so I appreciate your choice to stay here as it helps me finance those upgrades.
Because I actually live in this home, it won't be as sterile as a hotel room, I do leave some of my things out and about. I also do not use a cleaning service, I have a full time job and part time classes, so it will not be spit shined polished, but all linens, towels, and bathrooms will be washed/cleaned prior to your arrival. Basically, consider this like staying at your quirky sisters house!
I urge you to contact me immediately if you have any concerns at all during your stay.
My home is not child proofed, most appropriate for adult guests, but I do make exceptions at times. Guest AccessFast wifi. Cell service very sketchy.
Wifi. No cable and no local channels. ROKU 3 for streaming.
I do ask that guests respect privacy and not invade bedroom dressers and closets, or the downstairs bedroom and bathroom or the upstairs office.
There is no fax, printer, iron or laundry facilities. Interaction with GuestsIn the past, I've been very flexible with arrival times, but this has fostered poor communication and/or major disruption to my sleep cycle! I now ask that each guest plan to arrive prior to 9pm and to send an email or text once you arrive or by 9pm if you know you will be running late.
My work schedule often prevents me from greeting guests, and I like to respect your privacy and autonomy once you have arrived, so it's quite possible we may not meet. However, I am always just a text, phone call or email away for any questions you may have.
I will gladly provide you with lists of things to do and see. The NeighborhoodThis is a really charming Adirondack town with only one traffic light, but one must make the time to explore to truly appreciate how special it is.
I truly love that my town is so quaint and at any time, I can walk out my front or back door and within a 5 minute walk, be at my choice of parks that overlook Lake Luzerne, or the Majestic Hudson River, or the fun Sacanadaga River! Oh, and there are some great bridges over those Rivers! Rockwell Falls is a beautiful sight in any season, only takes 5 minutes to walk there!
You can walk to the tennis courts, beach, the post office, the mom and pop grocery store, and church!
There are a couple of different waterfalls you can walk to see!
There are multiple restaurants in the area, but only one that serves breakfast, their hours in the winter may be limited.
Lake George and the outlets are just 15 minutes away, Saratoga just 30 mins away! Gore is approx 45 mins.
If you can't make it up here this summer, do try to get here for a weekend in the Fall! The colors and crisp air are so refreshing and you will be assured to enjoy some peace and quiet.
I advise summer guests to bring everything from bicycles, beach chairs/towels, bug spray/sunscreen, water shoes, hiking boots, and be prepared for Adirondack weather, which can go from hot and humid to stormy to cold all in one day! Fall and Winter guests...bring layers of clothing as it does get cold up here in these Adirondacks!
WARNING: This is the Adirondacks, weather can change greatly throughout the day. Cell service is sketchy due to the mountains and few cell towers. The local 'beaches' are primitive, although most when in season do have toileting facilities, but there are not great expanses of white sand. Consider them swimming holes if you are used to the beaches of the ocean. Please do not litter, our beautiful Adirondacks and all it's parks are strictly carry-in carry-out. Getting AroundRurual area, there is no public transportation available. Other Things to NotePlease read the entire listing information, as I have accurately described both the property and what you can expect from me as a host.
