A 15 minute walk through the woods to Gordon College. 5 minute drive to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, 20 minutes from Salem State. As a matter of fact our house was originally owned by a prominent Seminarian and for generations the neighborhood has been made up of professors from both Gordon College and Gordon-Conwell. Our 3 bedroom ranch house, in a pristine rural setting has easy access to Boston by car and Commuter Rail (a stop in Hamilton) and all the North Shore cultural and recreational centers. Our home utilizes geothermal as an alternative energy source, providing heat and and central air conditioning. We are offering a clean, peaceful and comfortable room located at the opposite end of the house from our bedroom and living space. It is a double/full bed with a dresser and bureau for your belongings. The bed has beautiful sheets and down comforter. An adjacent second room may be available with a queen futon, desk, and comfortable sitting chair. The main bathroom located near your room is tiled, clean and modern; it is the only shower in the house so we share the shower. It will be our pleasure to have available for you in the morning coffee, tea, fresh seasonal fruit, yogurt, cereal and fixings. Guests are delighted with the beauty and comfort and how relaxed they feel when spending an overnight as well as how much there is to see and do that is uniquely quintessential New England. We have a sit- on kayak for you to use on the pond across the street. There is no boat noise. just the sounds of the bull frogs and owls. We hear repeatedly from guests that they can't remember having had such a sound night's sleep! Although this is a ranch house and not huge, our guests say they don't hear us in the mornings as we get ready for work. The surrounding towns of Essex and Ipswich are famous for fried clams and the finest fresh seafood, as well as an antique lover's paradise. Hamilton is home to Myopia Hunt Club, also minutes away is America's oldest tea house. Close by is Peabody Essex Museum. Crane Beach in Ipswich (ranked in the top 25 of U.S. beaches by Trip Advisor's travelers), Singing Beach in Manchester By the Sea, Good Harbor Beach and Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester, all within 20 minutes drive from our house and wonderful to take long walks at any time of year. Rockport, Gloucester, Salem and Marblehead all offer rich historic (and haunted) attractions such as The House of Seven Gables, Salem Witch Museum, and on the harbors there are cruises, schooners and tour boats; there's even a ferry to Boston from Salem. We look forward to getting to know you and share our love of the region. Having raised our two sons in the house, we have always taken advantage of the wonders that surround us here in Cape Ann. We are very excited to be a part of making your visit to New England a memorable one.
