Please understand the following: While I certainly don’t mind helping with airport transportation, tour guiding, and being available for questions, I can’t text much at work and the room isn’t within walking distance to local area attractions. Please don't hesitate to ask questions! The Neighborhood
Mostly quiet, apartment complex of diverse working families and young professionals. So after 9/10pm nothing loud or rambunctious.Getting Around
1/2 mile from public bus transportation pick up. Personal vehicle transportation is NECESSARY. This past summer we had the threat of Hurricane Matthew. My roommate didn't have a car and while I was trying to leave town for a long arranged flight for work, I had to make sure he got evacuated. I care for my guests greatly, but I don't want the responsibility again of making, arranging, and implementing emergency evacuations for another adult. This apartment is more popular with students and professions who will be studying or working in the North Charleston area. If you are looking to vacation at the beaches or downtown Charleston, it might behoove you to look closer to Mt Pleasant, downtown Charleston, and the like. As you can see below, I'm in decent driving distance to everything, but with traffic and drive times I don't want you wasting time when you want to have fun! Proximity: -Publix (closest grocery store to room), 1.4 mi -Joint Base Charleston, 2.5 mi -Wal-Mart (going towards Summerville), 5 mi -Charleston International Airport (CHS), 6 miles -North Charleston Coliseum & Performing Arts Center, 6.5 miles -Tanger Outlet Mall (North Charleston), 6.5 miles -Wal-Mart (North Charleston), 7 miles -Northwood’s Mall (North Charleston), 7 miles -Interstates 26 & 526, 7 miles -North Charleston’s Park Circle area, 9.5 miles -Ladson Fairgrounds (Exchange Park), 10 miles -Summerville Downtown, 11 miles -Charleston Downtown (King Street), 15 miles -Isle of Palms (beach), 25 miles -Sullivan’s Island (beach), 25 miles -Folly Beach, 25 milesOther Things to Note
This apartment is NOT wheelchair assessable. I can be very flexible, but communication is key. After hosting for over a year, I have come up with some rules and information that make sharing the same space more comfortable for all: -wash your dishes or stage them in the dish washer and run when full -rinse sink and shower of hair -don't leave lights on when not being used (unless outside "porch" light if coming home late) -be aware Charleston is a semi-tropical environment and bugs occasionally come in. And of course unless it freezes, the mosquitoes outside! -Connecting on social media before me approving a request is a must. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) is preferred. -I occasionally have my younger two siblings stay with me (usually in the summer and over holidays). They are all chill and will stay out of your way.
