The SpaceThis log cabin is one of a kind. Built by myself and my sons in 2008 with the help from the neighboring Amish, this cabin had humble beginnings. Nearly everything was built by hand either by myself or the Amish. It is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bussel of city life, or just a place to go with family and friends for a good time. Guest AccessGuests have access to the entire home with exception to the basement tool room and storage area. Bedrooms: We offer three spacious bed rooms and an exciting attic space for the kids. The sun room couch pulls out to offer an addition double bed, if the need arises. There are four full bathrooms Basement: The basement includes a private bar, full bathroom and laundry area as well as ample space for a gathering. Kitchen: The kitchen comes fully equipped with an electric stove, dishwasher and a fridge/freezer. There is a coffee maker, filters and coffee. For the tea drinker there is a selection of tea, a tea pot and kettle. Interaction with GuestsI will personally greet my guest on arrival, show you around and offer any assistance you may need. I will be just a phone call away if you need any further help. The NeighborhoodI love the peace and tranquility. The ice age trail is just a five minute walk away. For me that's just paradise. Walk for 25 minutes on the trail and you will come upon Mecan Springs, which is heaven on earth. The closest towns are Coloma which is 10 minutes from the cabin. Coloma has several bars, a gas station, fast food places and a great country style breakfast café. Wautoma is a beautiful country town with all the modern conveniences, great shopping and is only a 20 minute drive away from the cabin. Getting AroundThere is no public transport in this area

We first caught sight of this amazing cottage on the approach from the lake, as this is the only means of access. After a 10 minute ride from the marina, the anticipation was high and we were not disappointed by the first glimpse of the impressive boathouse and the remarkable ‘cottage’. This is an amazing location with extensive accommodation in a truly inspiring environment. The cottage sits above the lake and is approached by wide steps from the dock and lower boat house area. The custom-built timber frame style property was designed to create a feeling of harmony with nature and huge windows and skylights are effective at bringing the outside in as much as possible. The main level of the cottage is filled with an eclectic mix of furniture and accents; and the owner’s artistic background shows in every room of the property and is evident in the wonderfully creative and novel features everywhere you look. . This is a much- loved family cottage so you won’t find a sterile ‘rental’ environment here – instead you’ll enjoy comfort wherever you decide to settle down, whether it’s in the cosy den to one side of the kitchen, or the sprawling living room that’s home to couches, easy chairs, plenty of side tables, and a large wood stove for cooler evenings. The country-style kitchen is full of pots and pans, plenty of dishes and cookware and space to prepare those big family meals needed at the end of an active day on the water. The huge dining table will seat everyone in the group and we can imagine the happy chatter as everyone catches up on their day. The attractively furnished sunroom will no doubt be home to evening card games, or just chosen as a quiet reading spot for those who want to get away to enjoy the feel of being outside while sheltered from the sun or a less than friendly weather day. The bird-themed bedroom is located on the main floor of the cottage, with six further bedrooms on the upper floor. The master has vaulted ceilings with skylights and a unique ensuite bathroom with a natural woodland theme. There’s two bedrooms that kids will love, both with tiered bunk beds, and two with private terraces. There are quirky artistic touches everywhere, from the collection of bird nests to trunks spilling over with logging and antique woodworking tools. In fact, no description of this cottage could ever match the reality - or fantasy – of this amazing property. Outside the cottage there’s so much space to explore – decks and seating areas; firepit; a tree house; horseshoe pit; and of course the boat house. This is where the young people will congregate to enjoy a game of pool, table tennis or Foosball, enjoy some music, workout on the exercise equipment or just hang out. Then there’s the waterfront with deep water for jumping and diving off the dock, and steps down into a shallow section with hard sand underfoot. There really is something for everyone at Nature’s Inspiration. Since this is a water access cottage you’ll either need your own boat or rent one from one of the marinas on the lake, and perhaps use the water taxi to get everyone out there to start with. We can help you with the different options. This is a true getaway from it all, and not a place to go if you want much activity away from the cottage, but if you are a group that wants to spend time together yet still want separate space, you’ll absolutely love it. Additional amenities include: fireplace, wood/gas yes.

If you are looking for a great cottage rental near Bancroft, then tranquil Gunter Lake may be just the right spot for you. Fabulous views from the deck and off the shoreline; great fishing, and a swim platform for water fun make this a super location for a family holiday. Fully-loaded is a great description to this newer cottage that is bright and appealing with light, spacious rooms and terrific views. The kitchen and dining area overlook the lake and as the windows take up the length of this room, there is a lot of lake to see. The kitchen is well-equipped and has a good range of small appliances and the attractive harvest pine table is great for family meals, or an evening board game. A door from the living/dining area leads onto the wrap-around deck where you'll find the BBQ, a patio table and chairs for outdoor dining and additional seating. There are three bedrooms on the main floor, all of which are comfortably furnished and attractively decorated. A four piece bathroom (bath with shower over) completes the main level accommodation. The lower level is equally comfortable with two more bedrooms, another bathroom and a family room. This makes Gunter Getaway a super cottage for a two-family vacation. The natural garden area on the lakeside has a slope leading down to the water and the waterside dock. This is where you'll find the canoe and paddleboat. There is a soft bottom to the lake and some weed around the dock area, but once out on the swim raft, diving, jumping and swimming will be the order of the day. Or just escape out there with a book and a cold drink and soak up the sun. The cottage faces east so gets morning sun on the deck and dock. Toward the end of the day, the lawned area at the rear of the cottage catches the afternoon rays and is where the fire pit is located for gathering under the setting sun and roasting a few smores. The main deck faces over the water and has a large patio table and chairs. To the side is a new deck boasting a sunken hot tub and a big gazebo with comfortable furniture. There's zero gravity chairs too for lounging in comfort. We loved this new addition and can imagine many hours spent in this area. This is a great area for exploring. Bancroft is just 35 minutes to the north for supermarkets, craft shops and restaurants; or take a meandering country road to Egan Chute Provincial Park and picnic by the Falls. To the west is Coe Hill, Chandos Lake and a little further on to Silent Lake Provincial Park. We felt that most time would be spent at the cottage though – swimming, fishing and just having fun! Additional amenities include: fireplace, wood/gas yes, ac/central yes, short stays yes.

This is a great spot for those who like to get away from the bustle of city life, relax in the countryside, swim and fish. Although Gunter Lake is off the beaten path, it’s got a lot to offer for a tranquil vacation at any time of the year. And newly built Gunter Retreat is a great place to stay. Built in 2014, this spacious cottage has everything you need to enjoy your holiday. A large open plan living, kitchen and dining area with bar stools lining the breakfast bar, it will comfortably accommodate a larger family or two families vacationing together. The screened sunroom off the dining area has a patio table and chairs for enjoying the outside while being protected from the occasional bug at dawn and dusk, and the large deck is big enough to lay back and take in the sun or eat outside when the mood takes you. To one side of the house, the master bedroom has sliding doors to the deck and an ensuite bathroom with a second bedroom opposite. To the other side are the third bedroom and bunk room with another bathroom. Stacking washer and dryer in a closet space provides the laundry service we all want on vacation. The lower level is not fully finished for 2014 but is accessible for getting out onto the waterfront side of the house, where you will find lawned garden and access to the water. The stepped approach to the lake brings you down to a sandy waterfront that is shallow with hard sand underfoot. The water deepens gradually. You can fish right off the dock or swim platform or take out the canoe or kayaks for a paddle. This is a great area for exploring. Bancroft is just 35 minutes to the north for supermarkets, craft shops and restaurants, or take a meandering country road to Egan Chute Provincail Park and picnic by the Falls. To the west is Coe Hill, Chandos Lake and a little further onto Silent Lake Provincial Park. You might find that the best time is at the cottage; swimming, fishing and just having a completely relaxing time. Additional amenities include: beach access yes, short stays yes.

This beautiful log home on tranquil Gunter Lake will please all the family. There's plenty of space, a great kitchen, screened in sun room, lots of decking, a hot tub and a games room. What more can you ask for? You will know you've arrived somewhere special as you turn into the driveway and see the rich colour of this log home, and become entranced by the glimpse of lakefront beyond. On entering the cottage, the aroma of pine and cedar welcomes guests, as a short hallway leads into the great room, which along with the dining area, overlooks the waterfront. Two bedrooms, each with a double bed, and a full bathroom are accessed off the hallway. The open plan living, dining and kitchen area offers a convivial space for the whole group to relax and enjoy. The kitchen itself is a dream for the nominated cook with a professional stove and griddle, and a range of small appliances. Double doors lead from the dining area to a large screened sunroom with large propane barbecue and plenty of seating for guests enjoying the beautiful sunsets. The deck is accessed from the sunroom where there's even more patio furniture. In fact there is so much space at this cottage you'll wonder where the rest of the family went! The upper level of the cottage has two large twin bedrooms with log beds and a further sitting area overlooking the lower floor. Another set of stairs lead up to a mezzanine bedroom furnished with another double bed. Lets not forget the entertainment/games area on the lower floor with patio doors leading to a patio where the hot tub is located. In fact this cottage is so fully loaded, you'll be hard pressed to find anything the owners have missed in their aim to have you thoroughly enjoy your vacation. Outside you'll find the large firepit with a semicircle of stone seating, and a walk down to the waterfront. The extensive dock is great to fish from, or swim out to the platform off-shore, and sunbathe, jump or dive. If you must drag yourself away from all this, it's a half hour drive to Bancroft but we can't see that happening much. We're delighted to add this wonderful cottage to our portfolio and know it will become one of our most popular locations. Additional amenities include: short stays yes.

This great cottage will comfortably accommodate 2 families or a group of friends. Tranquil Lucerne Lake doesn't allow motors so you can be guaranteed a peaceful vacation here. The cottage lends itself to conviviality both inside and out and we could imagine memorable times being had with friends and family around the big dining table adjacent to the large kitchen, or sitting by the fire pit on a starry night. The screened-in sunroom is just right for aperitifs, while the children safely play at the water's edge enjoying the shallow, sandy walkout and the swimming platform. The owners have thoughtfully provided plenty of games, videos and books to keep everyone happy on rainy days too. The five bedrooms are very comfortably furnished and with all linens supplied there’s not much chance of you wanting for anything here. Lucerne Lake sits between two larger lakes, Rock Lake and Tait Lake, both with boat launch facilities if you want to bring your own boat. And if you want activity away from your own peaceful haven, try canoeing on the York River, mineral and rock hunting in Canada’s mineral wonderland, or exploring Silent Lake Provincial Park. Fall and winter offer a whole new range of activities from snowmobiling to cross counry skiing and snowshoeing. Or, just warming in front of the wood burning stove after a stroll across the lake. The possibilities are endless! Additional amenities include: beach access yes, ac/central yes, fireplace, wood/gas yes.

Pristine Cashel Lake is mostly Crown Land and with only 41 cottages on the lake, it’s a great location for those looking for peace and quiet a well as great fishing with plenty of bass and lake trout. The sandy beach and shallow entry to the water will appeal to families with children of all ages since older ones can jump or dive off the end of the 38’ dock. There’s a good amount of property for children to play outside at this cottage and since it’s well treed, it’s nicely shielded from neighbouring cottages. The deck wraps around the cottage on three sides so there’s choice of sun and shade throughout the day, and with patio furniture on the deck and a bench table close by, everyone will find their spot to sit and read or just unwind. A windsurfer, canoe and row boat are included so everyone can get out on the water in one way or another. Inside, the open plan kitchen, dining and living room is attractively furnished and invites relaxation. Satellite TV offers entertainment for those times when it’s best to be indoors and the well-equipped kitchen will please the cottage cook. Three comfortable bedrooms and a newly renovated bathroom complete the accommodation and with a sofa bed in the living room, the cottage will accommodate up to 8 people with a maximum of 6 adults. A well-behaved pet is welcome too. Additional amenities include: beach access yes, short stays yes, fireplace, wood/gas yes.

A stunning cottage on a magical lake. What else is there to say? We can't imagine anyone not falling in love with this beautiful property and its sandy beach, fantastic swimming and some of the best trout fishing in this part of Ontario.  The owner took me out on a tour of this secluded lake and he is justly proud of its tranquil beauty. It's great for a gentle paddle out to the fishing holes or to the diving rocks, or for the kids to enjoy the paddle boards. The wide stretch of sandy beach is a big feature of the property as are the lawns and perennial gardens. The patio set on the dock will be the venue for many evenings spent out under the stars chatting and enjoying a glass of wine as the sun goes down.  The inside of this cottage is of excellent quality too. From the well equipped kitchen with all the appliances you might need, to the sunken lounge with soaring ceilings, leather furniture and 50" TV; family room with comfortable couches and yet another TV and entertainment system, there is plenty of space for all. I particularly loved the view of the water from every room in this house - wherever you go, it's right there in front of you! The kitchen, lounge, dining room and huge family room are all on the same level, with a bedroom and newly renovated bathroom occupying one end. A small hallway leads into a sun room with cathedral ceiling and fabulous views, just in case you want to sit indoors and still enjoy the look of the water. Upstairs, the master bedroom has magnificent views across the water which is the first thing you'll see on waking. A further bedroom and another bathroom and shower stall complete the extensive accommodation. There is a lot of attention to detail in this cottage and the owner has clearly spend a lot of time creating an ambient and comfortable space. I loved it, and think it's going to become very popular.  Getting to this wonderful location is easy - under 3 hours from Toronto. And, once here, there is plenty to see and do. Silent Lake Provincial Park is just 15minutes drive. The attractive riverside town of Bancroft is nearby with its art galleries, craft shops and restaurants. But, if you simply want to chill out and enjoy, you may never want to leave this cottage. We suspect many people never will! Additional amenities include: beach access yes, short stays yes, fireplace, wood/gas yes.
