The SpaceThe apartment is on the second floor of a renovated 19th century building on the edge of the Dartmouth College campus. It is three blocks to the Green, Baker Library, the Hopkins Center, and Hanover's delightful shops and restaurants, and it is one and a half block walk to Hanover's reknowned CoOp grocery store.
We are a five minute drive from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and the local transit bus that runs to and from the hospital and downtown Hanover picks up right in front of the building.
King Arthur Flour, the Montshire Museum, many ski areas, and loads of hiking and biking trails are all within a few minutes drive.
This is an ideal space for parents who are in town to visit their undergraduates, alumni returning for casual weekends, Green Key, Homecoming, or Commencement and Reunion, and for weekenders who want to enjoy Hanover, Queechee, Woodstock, Norwich and the other lovely locations in the Upper Valley. Guest AccessYou will have access to the whole apartment including kitchen and a parking space--which is extremely useful to have in Hanover.
If more than four adults will be staying, we ask for a small additional fee per adult, but additional children are welcome to stay for free. Interaction with GuestsWe are available nearby to help if you need us, but will not disturb you unless you ask. The NeighborhoodHanover, NH is a beautiful, quaint New England college town that is the home of Dartmouth College, wonderful clothing boutiques, and wonderful restaurants including Thai, Himalayan, Chinese, Modern American and several excellent pubs, as well as the elegant and welcoming Pine restaurant within the Hanover Inn.
The apartment is across from the Dartmouth College athletic complex. If watching Big Green Athletics is your dream, this is the perfect space. You can tailgate from the living room.
If you're not here for Dartmouth sports, the space is equally inviting--it's a quiet street and neighborhood with easy parking.
If you or your loved one is in town to be treated at nearby Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center this apartment will be a welcoming, convenient place for you. It's a quick drive to the hospital, there is public transit if you need it, and it a very comfortable and soothing space to be in. Getting AroundWe are three minutes from I-91 and five minutes from I-89. Other Things to NoteThere is high speed internet, but no TV in the apartment. Instead there is an EPSON projector and a pull down projection screen that is approximately 4 x 6 feet. You aren't likely to want to stay in and watch movies, but it's a great setup for streaming via chromecast or hdmi.
There is one double bed in one bedroom, a twin size bed in the second bedroom, and a very comfortable queen size pull out bed in the living room. The space is ideal for three friends, two couples, or a family with up to two children.
This is a multi-unit building and the other apartments are home to families. The children upstairs do run around as children are supposed to do and you can hear their footsteps in this apartment at night--it's very mild, but if you are very noise sensitive, this might matter to you.
