Description

The Space

Quiet room, with one queen-sized bed.

Sleeps two.

Shared full bathroom - you would share this with any guests booked into the other listing (we have 2 bedrooms listed!).

Guest Access

Access to all common areas of the house.
If you need any special food, just ask us!

Interaction with Guests

We enjoy the chance to get to know our guests, but at the same time, if you prefer to be left alone - we totally respect that.

The Neighborhood

This is a quiet neighborhood. There is a new park close by. There is also a new subdivision going up, but the houses immediately next to us are nearly done. The makes for some construction noise during banker's hours. (August 2014)

Getting around

It's probably best if you have a car. Free street parking is available. Public transit is also close by. There are 3 bus lines: (phone number hidden).

The 30 goes all the way into downtown Portland. The 155/156 go to and from the Clackamas Town Center, where you can catch the Light Rail into Portland.

If you don't have a car and you need to be taken to/from the airport, we will do that for $20.

Bikers would love this spot. It's 5 miles to the light rail station, and you can go into city center, plus lots of bike trails.

Transportation:
to downtown Portland - 20 mins
to PDX - 20 mins
to shopping (Clackamas Town Center) - 5 mins
to hiking trails (Mt. Talbert) - 5 mins
to fishing/boating (Carver Creek) - 5 mins
(Clackamas / Willamette Rivers)- 5 to 10 mins
to snow skiing (Mt. Hood)- 1 hr

Other Things to Note

This is a baby-proofed house. We are definitely kid-friendly.

We have a toddler. She's been generally very well-behaved around the guests. Occasionally, she decides to, you know, be a stubborn toddler. No guests have ever had complaints about her, and often she will warm up to them and play together with them. It's been very good, just mentioning it in the spirit of full disclosure.

If you need a stroller or car seat, we have ones available for a minimal fee.
We keep the sheet with the wifi info in the rooms.

In this room, the closet has the cable modem, router, and network wiring. Please don't touch. The livelihood of the man of the house depends on a reliable Internet connection. :)

If you need to print anything, just let us know. The printer is in that closet too.

Continental style breakfast is available all day. Bacon and eggs are served Saturday mornings, family style, around 9:00 am.

Millions of people are using Airbnb to sleep in strangers' homes, beds, and even couches. They have an amazing selection and you can't find their stuff anywhere else. There is a catch: you often need to contact several hosts to actually get a place to stay, so make sure you give yourself some lead time.
