*ABOUT THE AREA*
The Low country is a region steeped in history, natural beauty and distinct architectural style. The true historic “Old South, with its entire cultural heritage, is just a short drive from Harbor Island. Centuries old cities like Beaufort, Charleston and Savannah will delight you with their grand plantations, museums, galleries and southern hospitality. Beaufort is a short 15 minute drive and Savannah and Charleston are both about an hour away.
If you are interested in fishing, the 1120-foot former Paradise Pier is now part of Hunting Island State Park, the next island over. Hunting Island also is home to the only lighthouse in S.C. open to the public. We provide a Hunting Island Passport Pass for one vehicle entrance to the park.
