Please make a 'reservation enquiry' and not a 'reservation request' if you are planning to bring your own bed linen and towels as the system doesn't allow for offering the 10% discount when accepting a 'reservation request' - this discount has to be sent to you as a 'special offer'. We offer breaks from a minimum of 3 nights up to 3 weeks but do not do long term lets. Please check prices with us. Daily prices apply to a break of 3, 4 or 5 days. A discounted weekly price will be shown to you by the system. Electricity is included in the cost of the rental. We are happy to take a well behaved adult dog so long as the owners bring its own bed & don't allow it onto chairs or beds. Guest AccessComprising of three comfortable bedrooms (1 king, 1 double & 1 single - UK definitions of bed size), a spacious lounge area and well equipped kitchen, it is ideal for the self catering visitor. In the warmer months enjoy sitting out in the gardens and admire the spectacular views of the hills above Harlech. It is within walking distance of a selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. For those wanting to tour and looking for a bit of history there are beautiful castles in the area including the nearby Harlech Castle. Interaction with GuestsThe property is ideal for families, couples and friends but as it is an apartment with the upstairs neighbour's bedroom immediately above our living room it is not suitable for lively night owls or for those who plan on arriving late at night. This is why we don't recommend the property for those who enjoy staying up chatting or watching TV/playing music into the early hours. We don't take bookings from young single sex groups for a similar reason. Letting us know the composition and age group of your party would be useful in your enquiry, and particularly if you are making a reservation request would speed up the time for us to accept it. Glan Gors is our holiday home as well as being a holiday let. We deal with the booking process ourselves but have a near neighbour there who looks after the property for us. We now have a key safe, information on how to use this and the code will be sent about 3 to 4 weeks before your arrival date. The SpaceAlthough there are cheaper options at the bottom of the steep hill, they require a hard walk up hill or a drive with traffic congestion with only two lanes and difficult parking to reach the shops and the castles and the hikes up the mountains. On clear days, Snowdonia is the most beautiful and serene landscape in the world, but you must plan for rainy days, too! On rainy days (its Wales) you will love seeing the castle, the ocean, the mountains, and the rainbows from the living room, dining room, and two bedrooms with large beds. It is a double wide terraced house with plenty of room. That it is called Sea View is an understatement as it offers more than the other sea views. For half a crown more it is the difference between grandeur and just lodging, like living in a turret of Harlech Castle, but nice and warm and cozy.Sea View is a self-catering apartment consisting of the first and second floors above a Menai Holidays shop in a double wide terraced stone building dating back to 1903, with all modern conveniences. Being located in the centre of historic Harlech town in upper Harlech, it will seem as if you are staying in one of the turrets of the 13th century Edwardian Harlech Castle! All of Harlech's amenities are at your doorstep, including a Spar market, tea rooms, sweet shop, pubs and restaurants. Since the Arriva train stops at Harlech, it is even possible to have a complete holiday without a car.Being in the Snowdonia National Park there are many hiking trails that begin in Harlech and go up to megalithic stone circles, cairns, and hillforts with sheep everywhere! Harlech beach is just a short walk away with a sandy beach that stretches for miles. The St. David's golf course is right out the window and close by is a train station south to Barmouth and London and north to Porthmadog and Pwllheli. With stunning sea, mountain, and castle views, this Harlech self-catering apartment with central heating and an electric fireplace is in a lovely location to just stay inside any time of the year or venture out to shop, hike, swim at the beach (30 minute walk), golf, dine, or attend the theater (10 minute walk). Given the famous Welsh rain, you will be glad to be warm inside and, though it might rain all day, you are almost guaranteed to see a spectacular sunset every evening followed by the illuminated night castle. On the first floor of this Harlech holiday let is a kitchen and a dining room, which can seat everyone in your party, and a full bathroom. The sitting room, which has leather sofas with leg-rests and two swivel chairs in the bay window, is where the spectacular views described above can be seen and, in conjunction with the snug room which has a piano, there is provided a comfortable sitting area for 10, with the snug room being perfect for children. On the second floor this Harlech self-catering apartment are five bedrooms and a full bathroom with bidet. UNEXPECTEDLY AVAILABLE NEXT WEEKEND.....Llanbedr beer festival is on! Ty Mefus is a large warm modern 5 bedroom house in a quiet cul de sac just above Harlech castle. Just 15 minutes to Portmeirion! Also close to the iconic Barmouth bridge. It is within walking distance of all Harlech ammenities and attractions and driving distance of all Snowdonia places of interest. Our house is most suited to multi generation or 2 family groups as it has 2 kitchens and living areas even though the first floor variant alone will accomodate 10 guests. Ty Mefus also has a large sun terrace complete with bbq and outdoor furniture for 10,great for those warm evening sunsets and to get Sir to do the cooking! The house is adjacent to Parc Bron y Graig which is ideal for the children to run around and explore or for exercising the dog. As we live nearby we can help with tailored holiday ideas and help sort out any of those other things that usually happen on holiday.... well they do to us anyway!. Each of the communal areas has a television, downstairs a dvd, upstairs a 4K HD BT infinity connected system, but of course you will be too busy exploring and enjoying the natural countryside to use those. There is also an external access to both floors of the house. All electric gas and internet are included.Very well behaved pets are welcome provided they are under the owners control at all times. We do ask that all guests respect that Harlech is a World Heritage Site and that Ty Mefus is in a very peaceful residential area where our friends and neighbours enjoy the tranquility of the area. If you are not sure if Ty Mefus is suitable for your holiday please contact us for further information or choose a more appropriate holiday home, for your stay in Harlech. We can even position our caravan outside Ty Mefus to increase the bed capacity by 6 persons, although this will restrict car parking.......but there is a carpark just 200 metres away. We can also offer fetch/carry or guided tours of the area using our 8 seater mpv, so there is no need to bring your own car, travel by rail! Harlech surrounds the World Heritage Site of Harlech Castle, so impressive we still visit it. Below the castle lie the flatlands which were once under the sea when the castle was built (global warming?), encompassing Royal St David's Golf Course, the community swimming pool, climbing wall and tennis courts. From here, walk onto the renowned dune backed sands that go on forever accessed only by foot (or boat) ensuring it is always safe and relaxing. Above Harlech, a myriad of paths lead through woodlands, ancient open meadows and onto rugged mountainous terrain if you have the stamina. Harlech itself has a bank, an amazing shoe shop, the infamous Seasons and Reasons (try and find something they don't stock!), a small coin arcade, ice cream shop, an old style sweet shop (very popular with the children), a chemist, newsagents, minimarts, antique shops, pottery, chip shop, kebab house, Chinese, Caribbean and traditional restaurants, pubs and cafes. For travel there is a central railway station enabling direct access to six further narrow gauge steam railways, and the entire coast line from the Lleyn Peninsula to Aberystwyth. There is also a reasonable bus service as well. If you visit at the right time and something is on at Harlech theatre/cinema, an evening there spent lounging in the bar/cafe first is a must, especially if a good sunset is likely. There is even some motorsport with rally stages at Llanbedr and banger racing on the flatlands. Just in case all this isn't varied enough there is even a legitimate nudist beach down the road at Dyffryn, very pleasant we are told! Oops I nearly forgot, Harlech even has its own Rock festival this year, June the 13th. Warm modern house in Harlech, central Snowdonia,North Wales,Gwynedd. 15 minutes to Portmeirion! Close to Barmouth bridge. 5 good size bedrooms sleeping upto 10 guests in comfort. Quiet, tranquil position with views over adjacent park and across Harlech to the sea, with the mountains behind. Ty Mefus is a bit of an upside down house with most of the communal living area and sun terrace upstairs.

Snowdonia is a National park in North Wales which occupies most of the county of Gwynedd. It is mountainous unspoiled countryside which has the longest coastline of any of the U.K. national parks. In Snowdonia you have the highest mountains in England and Wales, a multitude of lakes and rivers and the most stunning coastline which is rugged and exciting, or sandy and relaxing. We say you are never far from anywhere in Snowdonia. From the beach to the foot of Snowdon is about 9 miles of jaw dropping scenery. There are a lot of castles and steam trains, country houses and gardens. There is a rich Welsh heritage tradition of slate and copper mining and mountain sheep farming in the area. Here is still spoken the old 'British' language of our forefathers. Welsh is spoken openly in the shops and the streets. Everyone is bilingual by now and we are a welcoming nation, but we will want to know your business before you leave as friends. Porthmadog is an old harbour town in sheltered Tremadog Bay from where tall sailing ships carried slate around the world. The only remnanat of this are the steam trains of the Ffestiniog Railway which still travel trielessly up the Snowdonia valleys, it's slate cargo exchanged for passengers who stare wide eyed at the beauty of what passes infront of them. Portmeirion was the extravogant dream of an architect who found a sheltered piece of land near Porthmadog and gradually built it up to look like Port Fino in Italy. Prisoner Fans will recognise it straight away. The many award winning beaches are sandy and easy to get to. We boast a fantastic coastal footpath all round Wales now, and Porthmadog area has some of the best parts. There is the freedom to roam all the mountains with well marked footpaths and shuttle buses. Excellent mountain biking trails through the forests, a bird watchers paradise and nature on the doorstep.
