The SpaceYou will feel removed from the bustle of the world at this peaceful spot. Our family has owned it for thirty years and the kids grew up in the summers without amenities....a great experience. Beds: 2 queen, 3 double, 1 single, 2 bunks. There is a large washroom with a sink and a composting toilet as well as a very nice outhouse. We get our water from a town well a short drive from the cottage. You can launch a kayak or canoe from the tidal beach in front to have a picnic on a white sandy beach across the cove. At high tide, you can swim in front of the cottage. There is no ambient light at night, making the stars seem close enough to touch. Sit on the deck or lie in the hammock and enjoy the view of the cove, lobster boats, and islands beyond. Guest AccessGuests have access to the main cottage and the "boathouse" which has a queen size bed and is practically on the water. There is also a large storage shed on the property and a canoe guests can use. The town well is a short drive down the road. The Woodward Preserve, a scenic hike through moss filled woods and rocky coastline, is two miles down the road from cottage on left. Interaction with GuestsWe will not be interacting with the guests except by phone and/or email as we are not nearby. The NeighborhoodThere are a few other cottages on the cove but well back from the water. One is not aware of anyone else. There are rarely other people on the beach across the cove. There is a wonderful nature walk through the woods and along the coast nearby. Peace and quiet is what you get at this beautiful spot. Getting AroundThere is no public transport. The cottage is approximately two hours from the Bangor airport, one hour from Schoodic Point, part of Acadia National Park, and 1 1/2 hours from Bar Harbor. Other Things to NoteThe cottage has lots of information with suggestions for scenic hikes and walks, good restaurants and more. There is cell phone service.

Our cottage is a cozy getaway on a large, peaceful tidal bay in Millbridge, with long views to spruce-covered islands. With lots of windows facing the water, this is a bright and cheerful little house. A deck overlooking the water gives you a chance to unwind and look out over the bay. Our cottage is just a few yards from the shore, and is open to the ocean breezes. There are stairs to the shore, but the steep slope makes this spot unsuitable for small, unsupervised children. The cottage has two small bedrooms, one with a queen size bed, the other with a twin bed, and a futon in the living room. We provide blankets and bedspreads, but guests supply their own linens. The living room and kitchen-dining area are in one open area and is a cozy space, ideal for a couple or a small family. This cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood of other cottages and farms on Ray's Point, a finger of land extending into Harrington Bay... a beautiful part of Downeast Maine, with many points and islands to explore. See eagles and shore birds from the cottage and the deck, kayak in the bay and beyond. (This is a tidal bay, so launching from the cottage is limited to hours around high tide; there is a deep water launch site in Milbridge). Rays Point is a nice area for biking and walking. The village of Milbridge (shopping, post office, restaurants, movie theatre, etc.) is just four miles away. For day trips, Acadia National Park (Schoodic Peninsula area) is a half hour away, and Bar Harbor and Ellsworth are 45-60 minutes drive. Petit Manaan National Wildlife Sanctuary (great birding and hiking) is less than a half hour drive. Campobello Island, New Brunswick (FDR's summer home) is within an hour and a half (you'll need your passport!), as is Quoddy Head, the easternmost lighthouse in the U.S. Lobsters and clams are available in Milbridge (lobster and clam pots provided with cottage). This is one of the largest wild blueberry producing areas in the world, so there are plenty of berries available nearby during the season (late July through August) ... berry picking is permitted at Petit Manaan National Wildlife Refuge, in season. Whether you're looking for outdoor adventure, sightseeing, nature walks and birding, or just to get away from it all, this cottage is the perfect spot for you. ** Amenities: The kitchen includes a refrigerator, stove with oven, microwave, several cooking appliances, and all the cooking utensils you might need, plus plenty of plates, silverware, and other dishes. Other amenities include radio, blender, coffee maker, espresso machine, maps and local info folder, outdoor grill, outdoor furniture, big pots for cooking lobsters. In order to make this a pleasant rental for all, we do not allow pets on the property, nor is smoking allowed inside the cottage. Distances from major Cities: Bangor: 70-75 minutes Portland: 3+ hours Boston: 5+ hours Canadian border: 1.5 hours Maine state rental tax of 8 percent is added to the rates quoted above. Milbridge is a charming, coastal fishing village in rural Downeast Maine. The area is known for lobster fishing, clamming and other sea food, ample coastal islands, pine trees, and wildlife, and the wild blueberry harvest during August. Milbridge offers a well-stocked grocery store, historic move theater, several restaurants, ATMs, laundromat, library, health clinic, and more. In the summer on Saturday mornings, Milbridge hosts a farmer's market on Main St. There are ample local hikes, lakes and rivers for swimming and canoeing, paths for nature walks, and plenty of coastline to admire the tides. We experience tide changes of up to 12 feet! The cottage is located on a quiet road that is just a few miles out of town alongside other farms and summer cottages. A car is needed in this rural area, but there is plenty of parking on the property. The neighborhood is peaceful but still not too far from wonderful sightseeing attractions and outdoor adventure.

The lodge is located 80 feet from the water on West Carrying Place Cove in Harrington Bay. Prepare lobster or your favorite Downeast dish in the beautiful modern kitchen with granite counter tops and high quality modern appliances. The dining room and 'great' room are featured on the first floor with beautiful bay views while you eat and relax. In addition, two bedrooms and a full bath are also located on the first floor. Hiking trails and walking the shoreline are easily available in the area. It is also a pleasure to view the local bird populations, including a pair of nesting bald eagles. The waterfront lodge, spacious and comfortable, was built on two acres from a Beaver Mountain Log Home kit and completed in 2010. The precision milled parts fit like furniture and gives our home the feel of a log house with all of the modern comforts. With more than 2000 square feet and two decks, there is plenty of room for the whole family, even on a rainy day. It is located on West Carrying Place Cove in Harrington Bay and there are no other houses within view. Prepare lobster or your favorite Downeast dish in the beautiful modern kitchen with granite counter tops and all high quality appliances. The dining room and the ‘great’ room are featured on the first floor with beautiful bay views while you eat or relax. In addition, two bedrooms (twin beds in one and a bunk in the other) along with their own bath are also on the first floor. The master bedroom (king size bed) and master bath are on the second floor. The deck on the second floor is accessed from the master bedroom and is a perfect place for a quiet read or a morning cup of coffee. Sunsets from this view can be spectacular. There is also a gaming loft/balcony on this level which overlooks the living room and is stocked with many family games, cards, CD's and books. The lodge has baseboard hot water heat and with the cool ocean breeze and full screens has never been in need of air conditioning. We have limited the electronics to increase family time and to enhance the peaceful retreat aspect of our home. While there is no landline or cable, there is good cell service and, therefore, Wi Fi, which eliminates any feeling of isolation. There is also wireless Internet at the town library. For outside activity the ocean side yard is large enough for a game of catch or croquet and there is a basketball hoop in the driveway. The sheltered cove is a perfect place for canoe/kayak trips and windsurfing; for the ambitious boater the beach front is also a perfect launch site for longer sea kayak trips into Harrington Bay and the shores of the open ocean. The path to the water is short, less than 100 ft. at most tides. The public boat launch is only one mile from the house and there is no charge to launch your power or sailboat. Hiking trails and walking the shoreline are also easily available in the area. It is also a pleasure to view the local bird populations, including a pair of nesting bald eagles and their young. There are many restaurants in the area and a list of where to buy lobster and other special places will be emailed to you as an attachment. Another copy will be left at the lodge. If you are interested in some of the more well known attractions, Harrington is only 33 miles down east of Schoodic Point, and 51 miles down east of Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor. In the other direction, Lubec and the Roosevelt Campobello International Park are only 53 miles from Harrington. Keywords: modern log home, peaceful escape

Sea Smoke is a delightful cottage offering a peaceful and cozy getaway with spectacular, long views up and down the lovely ocean bay surrounding Rays Point.  This comfortable 2 bedroom, 1½ bath cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood of other cottages and farms on one of Washington County’s most scenic peninsulas. There are wonderful panoramic views of the ever changing tides with many granite points and islands to explore. One of Sea Smoke’s biggest advantages is its location – there are only a handful of rental cottages close to the services and amenities of the quaint fishing village of Milbridge, yet far enough away to offer wonderful oceanfront views and countryside privacy. Unlike many of the very remote areas around us, Sea Smoke is conveniently located just 5 miles from Milbridge’s small village center where you will find a good modern grocery story, two restaurants, pharmacy, gas station, public library, medical center, and a couple of cute gift shops to explore. Although there are other lovely cottages to rent across Downeast Maine, you’ll find the convenience of our location combined with Sea Smoke’s scenic, rural atmosphere to be a big plus.   Offering numerous amenities, this clean and comfortable cottage is just 20 feet from the water's edge. Sea Smoke's close proximity to the shore ensures terrific up close water views. Visitors have direct access to the shore via a short set of stairs located in front of the cottage.  A waterside patio is the perfect spot for relaxing with a book while basking in the sun’s warmth and enjoying the refreshing cool afternoon breezes that come off the ocean and bay.  Sea Smoke cottage takes its name from the occasional and brief summer fogs that roll in gently and peacefully from the open ocean and down the bays along the rocky coast of Downeast Maine.  From the cottage you can enjoy watching the clammers as well as the lobster and pleasure boats that come in and out of the channel leading to the open ocean.  You'll delight in watching the late afternoon sun create a spectacular show as its rays light up the pink and orange granite shores of nearby Blaskett Point and Peace Point.  At night you can watch the moon rise across the bay, enjoy thousands of stars, and even the occasional display of the northern lights.   Sea Smoke is the perfect size and location for a small family or for couples wanting to get away from it all. The interior of the cottage is decorated with a country contemporary flair, centered around its water views and rocky shoreline.  The master bedroom offers a queen bed, large closet and an attached private half bath. The guest room features two twin beds. The cottage also has a fully updated center bath, with tub & shower. There is a glass fronted great-room that includes a dining area, living room with classic wood burning metal fireplace, satellite TV with DVD player, Wi-Fi Internet, and a well equipped kitchen. The cottage includes many extras such as CD player, washer, dryer, games, outdoor gas grill, firewood, phone, and all linens/towels. Cell service is good in the area for most carriers including ATT, Verizon, and others.   The waters off of Sea Smoke are wonderful for kayaking or canoeing with the tides to “seal island” where you will see numerous seals and nesting birds.  This is a tidal bay with DownEast tides changing by as much as 14 feet every 6 hours. So, launching from the cottage is limited to hours around high tide; there is a deep water launch site in Milbridge. There are several pairs of Bald Eagles nesting nearby, and they are often seen flying over the bay in front of the cottage. You will likely see seals, terns, loons, ducks, and other shore birds along with the foxes, porcupines, and deer that call the Rays Point Peninsula their home.  In July and August you can pick wild blueberries and raspberries along the road. The area around the cottage is perfect for walking or biking.   With the cottage's central location along Maine’s beautiful Downeast coast, vacationers have many options to choose from when planning the day’s excursions to take advantage of the area’s plentiful sights, activities and cultural events.    In the immediate area of the cottage we recommend hiking and exploring the beautiful ocean side McClellan Park in Milbridge or doing a boat tour of the local islands or the Puffin colonies at the beautiful Petit Manan light house. You can also visit Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge (Recently renamed Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge). The coastal hiking trails are spectacular and the seabirds colonies are a wonder to watch.  Petit Manan also allows public access and picking in the refuge's enormous wild blueberry barrens. An absolute must is the 15 mile drive to see the stunning mainland section of Acadia National Park at Schoodic Peninsula with it spectacular granite cliffs and large crashing surf.  The park offers wonderful walking trails and you can drive to the top of the 'mountain' for breathtaking views of the ocean, islands, forests, and other mountains in the area.  Along the way visit the small but charming walking villages of Corea and Winter Harbor where you will find a passenger ferry service to Bar Harbor. Take a day trip to Bar Harbor (60 minutes), or travel up the coast to explore Campobello Island (Canada) and FDR's beautiful summer home (60 minutes).  In the same area, you will find the breathtaking Quoddy Head State Park Lighthouse, the easternmost point in the U.S., with wonderful hikes and walks including an arctic bog nature walk.   Whatever your interest, this terrific area will not disappoint vacationers looking for the real Maine experience. Sea Smoke cottage is 1½ hours from Bangor and the Bangor International Airport, 3½ hours northeast of Portland, 5½ hours from Boston, 8½ hours from New York City, and 2 hours from St. Stephen, New Brunswick. The house is 1 hour from Bar Harbor and the Mt. Desert island portion of Acadia National Park. Sea Smoke cottage welcomes well behaved dogs and smoking is not permitted. A minimum stay of 4 nights is required. Discounts are available for stays of 14 nights or more. Keywords: Home, House, Cabin, Cottage, Bungalow

Sunrise Point is a wonderful saltbox house on a five-acre deepwater lot with beautiful views and 400’ of shore frontage. The open-layout two-story home has a spacious family room, large kitchen, two bathrooms and three bedrooms (two with queen beds and one with two twins). Comfortable, cozy and nicely furnished, this is the place for your relaxed coastal vacation. Get away from it all without leaving behind many of the amenities of home. Lounge by the fire looking at the water through a wall of glass doors. Enjoy sea breezes from the oceanside deck. Relax in Adirondack chairs on a mossy point overlooking the granite shoreline. The point is the perfect place to drink coffee and watch the sun rise over Harrington Bay (you'll be among the first in the U.S. to see it, from this point in the nation's easternmost county)... sip cocktails as the setting sun illuminates lobster boats in Ripley Neck Harbor... or roast marshmallows over the fire pit as cool evening fog rolls over the bay. Plenty of activities await the more active members of your crew. Explore the shoreline around Sunrise Point. Dig for clams at low tide. Take spectacular hikes at McClellan Park, Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge, Bold Coast Trails in Cutler, and Acadia National Park’s Schoodic Point. The setting is wonderfully remote, private and quiet. Still, it is convenient to the relaxed fishing villages of Downeast Maine, shopping and dining. Only 1 hour to Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island, 45 minutes to Ellsworth, 1 hour and a half to Bangor International Airport, 1 hour to West Quoddy Head Lighthouse (easternmost point in the U.S.), and just over an hour to historic Campobello Island, Canada (bring your passports).

This is a cottage without running water or electricity on a gorgeous secluded cover in Downeast Maine. Our family has owned it for thirty years and the kids grew up in the summers without amenities...a great experience. We have a fully stocked kitchen with gas stove and refrigerator and gas lights, a wood stove for heat, an expandable dining table. There are two bedrooms upstairs with a queen bed in one and a double and single in another, two bedrooms downstairs with a double in one and two bunks in another, and one queen bed in the 'boathouse' which is right on the water. There is a large washroom with a sink and composting toilet as well as a very nice outhouse. There is a large storage shed on the property with a canoe guests can use. We get our water from a spring nearby and/or a short drive to the town well. You can launch a kayak or canoe from the tidal beach in front to have a picnic on a white sandy beach across the cove. At high tide, you can swim in front of the cottage. There is no ambient light at night, making the stars seem close enough to touch. Sit on the deck or lie in the hammock and enjoy the view of the cove, lobster boats and island beyond. There are a few other cottages on the cove but they are set well back from the water. One is not aware of anyone else. There is a wonderful nature walk through the woods and along the coast nearby and many beautiful places to visit nearby. A list and directions are at the cottage. Peace and quiet is what you get at this beautiful spot.

Our cottage was built in the 1960's and remodeled in 2009. It sits on 2 private acres and 250 feet of private ocean front. We are located at the confluence of the Narraguagus River and the ocean. This brings unique wildlife and birds to the area. Close by are sections of Acadia Park, Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge, Chair Pond and Petit Manan Point hiking areas as well as , the little more difficult, hike up Pigeon Hill which has fantastic views of the coast and surrounding islands. In season ( late July to mid August) we are only a few miles form the largest blueberry harvesting area in the world. It is common to se deer and occasional a moose in our area. Milbridge is a coastal fishing community. It has a rich shipbuilding history and now supports a large lobster fishing fleet. The community has shopping, a laundry, antique shops, movie theater and a medical center. It is also a great place to just relax and read a book. Or sit out on the deck or lawn chairs and watch for eagles and see fishing boats coming and going from the bay. On our lot we have a big open lawn great for kids to play on or for exercising you dog. We are located in a quiet residential area with the closest neighbors several humdred feet away and screened by woods. This is truly a private setting but still close to everything. My wife and I have owned the adjacent home for years and we both grew up in Milbridge. I am a retired Environmental Engineer and my wife is a retired Teacher. I now commercially fish lobster in the summer months and run a coastal charter for whales , puffins, sea birds, lighthouses, Islands, and day trips to Mt Desert Island. Besides the private beach adjacent the cottage we have access to another private breach a short walk from the cottage . Keywords: private cottage on the ocean close to town. Peace Point is a tranquil 2 bed-2 bath log-sided cottage off a private road on a private peninsula with a view of Flat Bay from every room! Set atop a granite crop, sturdy hand-railed stairs lead down to the shore. Nestled among balsam, pines, and white birch trees, this cozy retreat offers gorgeous views of the bay where eagles soar and seals visit and is situated so each glorious sunrise and breathtaking sunset is yours. This peace-filled getaway is only 4 miles from town but feels like a million miles from anywhere. Peace Point’s proximity to the ocean lends gracious views of several points including Blasket and Pineo. Eagles frequently nest in the tall pines located on Blasket and a short kayak trip from Peacepoint’s shore to Chamberly Island just around the bend between Pineo and Blasket is the perfect place to view where seals take their rest. A screened porch adjacent to the covered deck is an enticing place to read, reflect, or relax with friends and family. Take in the sea breezes and view lobster boats leaving the bay, their boats piloting past Peace Point’s shore. Flat Bay’s circadian-like tides swing over 14 feet, their ebb and flow a great reminder of the sea’s power and delightful to watch. At low tide, when the mud flats are exposed, local wormers and clammers will venture out for a hard day’s work with skids in tow, a marvel worthy of respect at the Downeaster’s ingenuity. When the sun leaves Peace Point aglow and its orange rays and dappled pinks bounce off her white birches, no one is left wanting. The moon will rise above the bay and thousands of seemingly touchable stars light the inky sky. Moreover, from time to time, the vaporous aurora borealis can be a special visitor. Peace Point offers a queen bed in each of two bedrooms, with en-suite baths in both. Each bedroom offers sizeable closets. A fully functional & quaint kitchen with gas stove/oven and full size refrigerator opens to the living room where glass doors lead to the deck and a gorgeous water view of the bay. The two bedoroms and a queen sleeper/sofa allows two to three couples or a small family to enjoy Peace Point’s numerous amenities. Two comfortable reading chairs in a little nook by a southern window blowing salt breezes and a puzzle table with music are nearly irresistible. The dining area offers water view and can be expanded to seat 6 with ease. There is a picnic table next to the deck and gas grill. All have bay view. Should you desire to venture into the village of Milbridge, there is a marvelous breakfast and fantastic Downeast food at the Milbridge House. Offering real blueberry pancakes (August is the Blueberry Festival in Machias 40 mins away) and mouthwatering homemade deserts (Chocolate cream, pumpkin, and lemon meringue pie are just a few) or if you get there after 10:45 fresh off the dock seafood - crab, lobster, and melt in your mouth scallops - are yours for a fair price. Hurry, though - these lovely women go home at 2pm and they are closed Mondays. After you’re sated, walk over to the Milbridge Museum and Gallery just to view the really old days of Milbridge past. Or, ride your bikes to McClellan Park (about 4 miles from town center - Automobile Parking/Entry is free, bathrooms are available and camping has a nominal fee). Once there, you’ll walk through the dark balsam fragrant woods which open suddenly to wide vistas of open ocean and wave after wave of crashing salt sprays on deep pink granite crevices and mighty glacial bedrock. If you have a craving for a sandy beach, bring your pail and shovel, hop in the car and drive to Corea about 30 mins south in the town of Gouldsboro. Park along the street at your own risk as there is no real parking, but it’s a short walk to your sand filled destination. While you are in Corea, check out Chapter Two , a” humbly sophisticated kick ass gallery” (their words but totally true) filled with amazing work from local artists. Rosemary’s rugs are delightful and Garry’s honed taste fills the place with never before seen treasures. PLUS, there is a fantastic used book barn out back where the prices are obscenely low and the eclectic choice makes picking phenomenal fun. (On the lone road into Corea, look up on the pole about midway for the mating-pair osprey nest :-) When the beach and sand and sun have filled you to the brim, a few miles away the town of Winter Harbor has a sweet old fashioned “five and dime” hardware store. Bring the kids and rediscover what a tiny toy store should be. Games, books, Jacob’s Ladder, and of course kitchenware, hardware, newspapers etc. Next door, there is an antique store and some local artists works in shops across from the public library. When leaving Gouldsboro, go by way of the Acadia National Park Schoodic Peninsula section. The Schoodic Peninsula is considered one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the sea, it is quintessential Maine and worth the trip. The 10 mile one-way ring road boasts some of the most painted and photographed ocean views, and is a perfect biking trip as well. Park your vehicle at the Wrinkled Pickle in Birch Harbor and ride to the park’s entrance at the bottom of the hill and enjoy one of the most beautiful rides in America. When you’ve put your bikes back on the rack, go into the Wrinkled Pickle and have a cold one. Check out this hot spot, everything from pool tournaments, horseshoe tournaments, to jazz depending on the night. Happily exhausted, drive the quiet Route 1 back to Milbridge and Peace Point. Make a note to stop at that little antique place on the right as you’re leaving Gouldsboro. It’s a tiny shop with a gregarious friendly owner and worth a browse of collectibles and vintage used Maine items. Note to self: make room for a wine tasting at The Bartlett Estate Winery, a bit tricky to find but worthy of your time. Stop at the grocery store/hub of Milbridge - Bayside. Pick up ice, water, and food You can also buy wine, spirits, or beer here. The Bayside has everything (but the breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and cranberry orange muffins are to-die-for). Now home at Peace Point, you’ll find a full size washer and dryer for your salty clothes and towels. There’s a tub and a shower too. Relax. Sit down with a book or draw in the sea air on the screened porch. Decide that the 42” satellite TV can wait and watch the stars make their entrance. Enjoy now. Bring your artistic self and find your muse in this delightful dwelling. We’re so glad to have you as our guests. Peace Point appreciates visiting well-behaved pets. Should you wish to visit Canada, or overnight in Nova Scotia, pet sitting/walking can be available with advanced planning for a fee. Absolutely, NO smoking is permitted.

On a large, peaceful tidal bay in Millbridge, with long views to spruce-covered islands, our cottage is a cozy getaway. With lots of windows facing the water, this is a bright and cheerful little house. A deck off the house faces the water. This cottage has been completely renovated and is a lovely, light-filled space. South-facing windows offer a breathtaking view down the tidal bay. The kitchen is well-stocked with cook and bakeware, including big pots and everything needed to cook a lobster dinner. Our cottage is just a few yards from the shore, and open to the ocean breezes. A line of rose bushes along the bank provide fragrance and blooms during summer months. There are stairs to the shore, but children under 10 need supervision. Nights can be cool even in a Maine summer, but there are plenty of cozy blankets and quilts, and a small propane stove should you need heat. The cottage is quiet, private, and peaceful, and a wonderful place to unwind and relax. This 2-bedroom cozy space is ideal for a couple, but could also accommodate other guests or children with the twin bed in the second bedroom and the pull-out couch in the main room. The first bedroom has a queen bed. This cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood of other cottages and farms on Ray's Point, a finger of land extending into Harrington Bay. It's a beautiful part of Downeast Maine, with many points and islands to explore. You can see eagles and shore birds from the cottage and the deck, and kayak in the bay and beyond. (This is a tidal bay, so launching from the cottage is limited to hours around high tide; there is a deep water launch site in Milbridge). Ray's Point Road is a nice area for walking and biking and there are many hiking trails just a short drive away. The village of Milbridge (shopping, post office, restaurants, library, etc.) is less than five miles away. For day trips, Acadia National Park (Schoodic Peninsula area) is a half hour away, Bar Harbor (where the main section of Acadia National Park is located) and Ellsworth are a 45-60 minutes drive. Petit Manaan National Wildlife Sanctuary (great birding and hiking) is less than a half hour drive. Campobello Island, New Brunswick (FDR's summer home) is within an hour and a half, as is Quoddy Head, easternmost lighthouse in the US. Lobsters and clams available in Milbridge (lobster and clam pots provided with cottage). This is one of the largest wild blueberry producing areas in the world, so there are plenty of berries available nearby during the season (late July through August). Berry picking is permitted at Petit Manaan National Wildlife Refuge, in season. Bangor International Airport is about 1 hour 20 minutes, Portland is approximately 3 hours, and Boston is a little over a 5 hour drive. Other Things to Note: This cottage is for weekly rentals, Saturday to Saturday. Checkin is at 3pm and checkout is at 11am the following Saturday. In order to make this a pleasant rental for all, smoking is not allowed inside the cottage. Pets are considered on an individual basis. The house has no wifi or cable but we have supplied a hefty selection of books and DVDs for any rainy days. In our rural area of Maine, be aware that cell phone reception can sometimes be spotty. AT&T, Verizon, and US Cellular all have relatively good coverage in our area, but we cannot guarantee good reception.
