The SpaceThe house is 100 years old but features a modern kitchen, bathrooms, and newly installed heating and A/C. No phone, TV or internet (phone/internet may be used at owner's house in case of emergencies). Set a quarter mile off the road, you'll feel completely private and can enjoy the peace and quiet. Yet it's only 7.5 miles from historic Harrodsburg where there are several places to eat, drink, shop, and several historic places of interest to visit. Fort Harrod, Perryville Battlefield and Shaker Village are close by, and Keeneland, the Kentucky Horse Park, and some distilleries on the Bourbon Trail are an hour or less away. Guest AccessGuests have full access to the entire house most of the farm to explore. Guests can even check out the garden and pick their own veggies for meals. Purchasing farm-raised pork, chicken or beef is also an option. Interaction with GuestsThe farmhouse is used only as a guest house; our residence is just a little further down the driveway so we're available whenever needed. We're happy to let you do your own thing or can provide suggestions on things to do in the area. Getting AroundThe house is conveniently located on State Route 152 (Mackville Rd), just one hour from Lexington and Frankfort and 1.5 hours from Louisville. Other Things to NoteThere are many options for recreation: hiking, wildlife watching, stargazing, fishing, boating on the river, hunting (with specific permission), mountain biking, and disc golf. There's even a meditation labyrinth and backyard campfires are welcome and encouraged. There's an outdoor pavilion nearby which is great for picnics and family get togethers, we'll provide the wood for the bonfire too.
