The SpaceThe open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area make Beachside ideal for laid back holiday life. There's comfortable furniture including a lounge and four armchairs, artwork on the walls, air conditioning and overhead fans and flat screen TV with Netflix. Wifi is available for you to check your email. Both the living area and the main bedroom open onto a spacious balcony which has a table and seating for four and a filtered view of the main pool - one of three in the lush gardens. Beachside is your home from home. It's not a hotel , so there's no daily maid service or meals. However for stays of a week or more, your bedding will be changed and the condo will be cleaned. If you need laundry done, you can take it to the front office and it will be returned the next day. While laundry is at your expense, it is very cheap. There are two saunas available - one for men the other for women. Ask at the office. Guest AccessGuests reach the condominium from the under croft parking area by taking the elevator up one level or by walking up one flight of stairs. When you reach the first floor the first thing you see is the main pool glistening in the gardens. Turn right and Beachside is the second condo along. To access the pool area, it's a few paces from the condo's front door into the impressive open air entrance foyer and down a few steps to the pool, where there are two showers which guests are required to use before swimming. From the main pool, it's a short walk through the gardens and past a kiddies' pool and another pool for direct access to the long, beach with squeaky clean sand. Interaction with GuestsWhen guests advise us of their arrival time, they will be met by Thip, our "go to" person who will take you to the condo, answer any questions and hand you the keys. If you arrive later at night the key will be with the security staff in the guard house as you enter Baan Talay Samran.. Thip can also arrange a car and driver from Bangkok and also hire you a car or automatic scooter for your stay in the condo at very reasonable rates. If you have booked a car through Thip she will have it ready for you, after seeing copies of your currents driver's licence and passport as required by law. If you have any problems or questions during your stay, Thip is the local expert. We can offer advice about train and bus services from Bangkok to ChaAm and recommend some good restaurants. The NeighborhoodIt's quiet and peaceful and often, depending on the time of year, you'll be among only a few people at Baan Talay Samran. Walks along the clean beach are magic at any time of the day, especially in the morning, when you can see local fishermen netting from the beach. It's only a couple of hundred metres north (to your left) to the Hotel de la Paix for a grand evening meal or about a kilometre stroll south to a beachfront seafood restaurant which serves great meals. Walk back along the quiet road where you'll see local local families - many of them fishermen - relaxing outside their homes. Remember to take a torch with you at night. Getting AroundBeachside in the Baan Talay Samran complex is four kilometres from Cha Am centre and while this makes it quiet and peaceful , it's more convenient to have your own transport, rather than rely on a taxi service every time you want to go shopping or further afield. We can arrange car hire or a fully automatic scooter for your stay. When you book Beachside just advise how long you'd like to rent transport for and we can have it waiting for you. Driving in the area is easy. The wide highway south to Hua Hin is exceptional and almost all local rural roads are of a high standard. If you prefer to be driven to Hua Hin for shopping, Thip, who manages the property, can arrange a taxi or you can take a mini bus for about 40 Baht, but the buses, although frequent, can be crowded. An alternative is the local bus which is older and slower, but it gives you the chance to meet local people in a relaxed way. A train runs between Bangkok and ChaAm and many of them stop at ChaAm. This is a other peaceful way to travel to Hua Hin.
There is plenty to see and do in the broad area and you will find local information in the condo. Other Things to NoteThere's plenty to see and do in Cha Am and the Hua Hin district, including a winery in the Hua Hin hills, a water park, zoo and magnificent national parks close to Cha Am, a fishing village and harbour (with seafood restaurants) further down the beach and buzzing nightlife along Cha Am Town Beach. The Wednesday night market near ChaAm Railway Station starts about 4pm and features food stalls offering treats you won't often get in restaurants. There's also clothing and shoes, electronic goods and knick knacks available, all at really cheap prices. Even if you're on a diet, you won't be able to go past the several stalls selling wonderful cakes and sweets. It's a great place to see family groups from the local community out and about. Grab a table and chair, enjoy an icy cold beer or soft drink and watch it all. There are also shopping outlets just out of ChaAm and major shopping malls in Hua Hin, where His Majesty the King has his summer residence.
