Guest AccessThe whole house is yours. Interaction with GuestsYou will have complete privacy. We live in Manhattan and will generally not be around to greet you, though we will always be available by phone to answer questions. The NeighborhoodAt the end of the block, a one minute walk, is the north entrance to the Hook Mountain/Nyack Beach nature trail and bikeway, a scenic 6 mile trail along the cliffs of the Hudson River where you can see rare birds (binoculars and field guide provided), the ruins of old WPA stone houses, and a monument marking the spot where Benedict Arnold handed over the plans for West Point to the British during the Revolutionary War. At the other end of the block (a 30 second walk) is a playground. Getting AroundWalking distance to the Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry which takes you to/from the Ossining Metro North station, however, this currently only runs on weekdays, so you will probably need a car. Other Things to NoteAs noted in the title, this house is a little quirky: the ceiling height on the lower level (the living room) is 6 feet 4 inches, so tall people may not be happy. There are very steep stairs from the parking area down to the house, and from the house down to the river. These stairs are not suitable for all visitors. There is a gate from the upper deck to the stairs down to the river, so little kids can be relatively safe. There is driveway parking for only one car; additional cars will have to park on the street or in the playground parking lot at the end of the block.
