The SpaceIt's a modern town home but you wouldn't know it because our place has lots of color, lots of personality and an indoor piazza when you first enter that makes you feel like you're in Latin America or Southern Europe. The Gaudi bench outside on the patio isn't finished yet (in true Gaudi style) but it's usable on a beautiful day (Hayward has some of the best weather in the Bay Area).
Your private room comes with its own attached bathroom with shower/tub and a big portion of the closet. It is located on the top (third floor) across from our master bedroom. Due to the water shortage, we kindly ask that you do not take extended showers. We apologize in advance for not offering laundry services. Sorry, no extended stays or discounted rates. Towels and linens are provided. Guest slippers are available as we appreciate shoes staying downstairs in the "piazza." Come and go as you please!
You are welcomed to use the kitchen (refrigerator, stove/oven, espresso machine, breakfast bar, etc.).
Breakfast: whatever we have for breakfast is yours so please help yourself.
Storage: if you have big stuff, feel free to store it downstairs in the garage.
Living room: while we don't have a TV, feel free to hang out in the living room, especially in the massage chair or "jelly bean."
Computer: if you need to use ours, no problem. It has a guest account. Of course, wi-fi is throughout the home.
There is free parking on local streets and a free public garage across from City Hall (within a 5-min walk). Sorry, we don’t have parking inside our complex.
Stores and restaurants are also right next door. It's downtown living. Supermarket, library, restaurants, bars, and other downtown options are right around the corner. Starbucks and Pete's Coffee is two blocks away and Lucky Supermarket is one block away. Our place is right next to City Hall and B St., Hayward's tranquil historic center. When you walk out our front door, you'll enjoy walking through our grassy, tree-filled downtown green space as you either hop on BART or go shopping or eating downtown. We have a “guidebook” with suggested eateries and retail in walking distance.
BART is the metro/subway system in the SF Bay Area. BART is right next door so you can get anywhere fast. BART is one minute away, buses and taxis are in front of BART, the shuttle to CSU East Bay is also right outside. The Greyhound bus stop is half a block away and the Amtrak train stop is 3 blocks away. This is as central as it gets! Take BART to Oakland in 15 minutes, Berkeley in 25 minutes, and San Francisco in 35 minutes. There are easy airport connections from both Oakland (OAK) and San Francisco (SFO) right to our front door! No taxi needed.
When you book our place you'll get a confirmation email that includes "getting here" instructions and more. If you have any questions, we're just a message away and we make every attempt to get right back to you. We want you to feel at home in our home. We kindly request no smoking, pets or visitors. Please do not store food in the bedroom. Due to allergies, please refrain from using strong fragrances inside (incense, perfume/cologne).
We're usually out but we're happy to chat it up when we are home. We enjoy people!
