The SpaceThis is a very large room. It has a king sized bed that is ridiculously comfortable. There are two sets of drawers for your clothes and a walk in wardrobe. We could fit another two beds up there, but we wont. :) If you are a professional on contract or medical intern on rotation , this is the room. Carpeted and warm. Personal heat as well as aircon. You have access to the whole house. Guest Accessok, so you have a room upstairs. New linen. King sized bed. Really comfy. Exactly as you see in the photos. Wardrobes with hangers. Towels, face cloth Bedside tables and lights. You have full access to everything in the entire house or you can keep to yourself upstairs and simply ignore the rest of the house. Make yourself at home in the lounge and dining room. You can see the photos. Wine glasses in dining room. Heater/air con- use at will. he thermostat is in lounge. In winter 70 is very toasty ( takes five minutes to kick in.) And Im re installing your personal heaters as well. There is a bathroom on both floors. Both have shampoos, conditioners and body wash. Kitchen. You have full use of everything. Please use your own food or anything marked EAT ME. ( please clean up after yourself, by choosing a bnb with no cleaning fee you are acknowledging that you are willing to clean up after yourself. Put your food anywhere you find room. Plenty of cupboard space in the kitchen itself. I leave a sharpie on fridge door so you can claim your food. (It makes it easier for me if you leave it behind, so i know it was yours) One request. Can you please buy small drink containers. My fridge is not huge and massive milks and pop bottles swamp the space. - There is no recycle bin so all bottles etc must go in the kitchen bin, when full please take outside. ( Please provide your own powder and softners. for a TOP loader) Porch and back yard are yours to use. Feel free to park in the back. We can fit 3 cars. However. The drive way is tricky. If you cant reverse your car out down a narrow drive, perhaps safer to park on the street. ( which IS safe). Across the road or in front of us. ( not in front of the house with purple porch furniture- i don't know either, but she doesn't like it. ) Please ask about anything. We try to improve with every guest. Enjoy! Interaction with GuestsTo be honest, I just bought another bnb in niagara falls, so we currently wont be around much. I have a house keeper who changes the linen on guests departure and does general clean up. Whilst you are in the house, she has no access to your room. The NeighborhoodVery secure area. The neighours have been here forever and all know each other. Have a coffee on the porch and chat with them. Don't judge Detroit by its inherent poverty. It is everywhere. Please ensure you look through the photos so you can see the address and do your research as to travel times and getting around. This house is seriously located 15 minutes from everything. Detroit was designed for car travel. It is VERY spread out. We are walking distance to supermarket and food. lots of food. but in winter...... it snows. so be prepared. Getting AroundWe are close to everything in all directions. Bus is four houses away and is the central route so it takes you to the depot up the road. From there you can go everywhere. Detroit is poor. If poor worries you, book in an affluent area. Other Things to NotePlease look through the photos provided as I have included a map with the exact address. This is so you can calculate travel times and decide if our location suits your needs. I am an experienced bnb short term host, having done it for 12 years. This means I can pretty much say, I know how to look after your needs.

The NeighborhoodHouse on Hull is my home. I bought it in 2015 and the neighbours have welcomed me into the fold. They are protective. This is Detroit. I love it here.Detroit is raw. It has poverty. It has wealth. It has enormous history and vast issues. I hate having to say this but for some, apparently, it is an issue. My house is in an African American neighbourhood. Take what you want from that statement. I personally didn't notice nor do I care, but hey, I'm from Melbourne Australia, where we embrace everybody. Please don't confuse ethnicity or abandonment as a threat to your safety. I am embraced by the locals and so is my partner. My area is changing at a phenomenal pace. New little shops, new residents. Demographics changing. Renovations everywhere. I have felt sooooo safe in this house. All the neighbours know each other and are 50 plus. ( Except Starla she is younger lol) They watch out for each other. The location here can't be beaten. Literally it is 15 minutes from everything. 13 minutes to downtown. 15 minutes to Grosse pointe. 10 minutes to Oak Park. 15 to Royal Oak. I hope to see you. Getting AroundThe bus stops at the end of the street ( four houses). And the freeway entrance is 2 minutes if I had to time it. This house is seriously central to everything. Please look at the photos provided to see the map attached. It allows you to do your research on the location. Other Things to NoteMy neighbours are all very quiet. They are elderly and know each other very well. There is a housekeepr who comes in to change the linen over and set your room up. At that point, she will vacuum and clean the relevant bathroom. You are meant to be keeping the house spic and span, so please keep it clean. The cleaning products are left out for you. You are agreeing to be responsible to clean up after yourself. So please keep my home in the same manner you find it. Cleaning products etc are in kitchen and bathrooms.

The SpaceI love opening up my home to people from all over and will make myself a resource to you on your stay however I can. My house is a cozy, peaceful retreat for me. The second bedroom has a single bed with memory foam mattress. Closet space is limited. Let me know how many beds you will need so that I can provide ample bedding. Towels are provided. I have a television with Amazon Fire stick - with access to HBO Go, Hulu, Netflix, and Showtime On Demand. Trash day is Monday, I keep the trash and recycling bins in the back by the garage. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the entire house. The upstairs is unfurnished but makes a wonderful space for yoga or mediation. There is a washer and dryer located in the basement - this can be used upon request. The kitchen is fully furnished with most of the basic cooking tools. I have a few food staples, but if you plan to do any heavy cooking you will have to bring your own groceries - there are many stores and markets within minutes. Interaction with GuestsI try to meet all guests on arrival, it would be helpful if in the booking you let me know when you plan to arrive. Unless I am traveling, I will be staying nearby and available by phone/text/email with any questions that you may have. Do not hesitate to reach out! The NeighborhoodLocated right off John R and 9 mile - you will be minutes away from any amenity you need. Downtown Ferndale is just over a mile away - a great walk in the summer months! Downtown Royal Oak is about 4 miles away, a 5-7 dollar Uber ride. Downtown Detroit is about 12 minutes down I-75 and a 10 dollar Uber. Hazel Park itself also has several AMAZING places I recommend checking out. Mabel Gray - just down John R, is a new restaurant, and is absolutely amazing, they feature a new menu daily. They do book up several weeks in advance so reservations are highly encouraged, or you can always roll the dice and try for a seat at the bar. Across from there is Cellarmens, a brewery with inventive meads, ciders, and beers. Pizza Connection is at the end of my block - pizza is to die for, delivery/pickup only. Super cheap too. There are many gas stations, grocery stores, and convenience stores within walking distance. Getting AroundI do not use public transportation, but if you have any specific questions feel free to reach out and I can try and find some answers for you. Street parking is available at my home, as well as the driveway or garage. Whatever floats your boat. Lyft and Uber drivers are never more than a few minutes away. With a bike you can get to Ferndale, Royal Oak, Detroit, Hamtramck, Berkley - I am a bike rider and can advise on routes. Other Things to NoteIf you request to book, please tell me a little bit about yourself and how you plan to use the space so I can make sure this will be a good fit. Recommendations from other hosts play a strong factor in evaluating requests.
