The SpaceI love opening up my home to people from all over and will make myself a resource to you on your stay however I can. My house is a cozy, peaceful retreat for me. The second bedroom has a single bed with memory foam mattress. Closet space is limited. Let me know how many beds you will need so that I can provide ample bedding. Towels are provided.
I have a television with Amazon Fire stick - with access to HBO Go, Hulu, Netflix, and Showtime On Demand.
Trash day is Monday, I keep the trash and recycling bins in the back by the garage. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the entire house. The upstairs is unfurnished but makes a wonderful space for yoga or mediation. There is a washer and dryer located in the basement - this can be used upon request. The kitchen is fully furnished with most of the basic cooking tools. I have a few food staples, but if you plan to do any heavy cooking you will have to bring your own groceries - there are many stores and markets within minutes. Interaction with GuestsI try to meet all guests on arrival, it would be helpful if in the booking you let me know when you plan to arrive.
Unless I am traveling, I will be staying nearby and available by phone/text/email with any questions that you may have. Do not hesitate to reach out! The NeighborhoodLocated right off John R and 9 mile - you will be minutes away from any amenity you need. Downtown Ferndale is just over a mile away - a great walk in the summer months! Downtown Royal Oak is about 4 miles away, a 5-7 dollar Uber ride. Downtown Detroit is about 12 minutes down I-75 and a 10 dollar Uber.
Hazel Park itself also has several AMAZING places I recommend checking out. Mabel Gray - just down John R, is a new restaurant, and is absolutely amazing, they feature a new menu daily. They do book up several weeks in advance so reservations are highly encouraged, or you can always roll the dice and try for a seat at the bar.
Across from there is Cellarmens, a brewery with inventive meads, ciders, and beers.
Pizza Connection is at the end of my block - pizza is to die for, delivery/pickup only. Super cheap too.
There are many gas stations, grocery stores, and convenience stores within walking distance. Getting AroundI do not use public transportation, but if you have any specific questions feel free to reach out and I can try and find some answers for you. Street parking is available at my home, as well as the driveway or garage. Whatever floats your boat.
Lyft and Uber drivers are never more than a few minutes away. With a bike you can get to Ferndale, Royal Oak, Detroit, Hamtramck, Berkley - I am a bike rider and can advise on routes. Other Things to NoteIf you request to book, please tell me a little bit about yourself and how you plan to use the space so I can make sure this will be a good fit.
Recommendations from other hosts play a strong factor in evaluating requests.
