Designed by architect Brian MacKay-Lyons and recipient of the Lieutenant Governor's Award of Merit in 1992; this unique cottage was inspired by Nova Scotia's Maritime tradition. The modern design concept is softened by the use of natural materials and lots of windows. An arched roof that is reminiscent of the hull of a boat covers the open concept design that encompasses the view through floor-to-ceiling glass doors. The living room features a freestanding wood fireplace and opens to a spacious covered deck. There are two bedrooms. Downstairs, the Master Bedroom has a queen size bed and a spectacular view of the ocean through a wall of windows. Upstairs is an open loft with two single beds and a sliding patio door that opens on to a small balcony. From here you can see all the way down the bay to the ocean. The second floor bedroom is separated from the main living space by a half wall, that adds to the open and airy feel of the cottage, but makes that bedroom not suitable for young children. The cottage comes equipped with a downstairs four-piece bath and laundry facilities. Bed linens and towels are provided. Bay Bluff Cottage has a 2-person kayak available for guests to use. Eel Bay is a beautiful location from which to set out and explore one of Nova Scotia's many coastal inlets Additional amenities include: beach chairs, 4 piece bath, bed linens provided, kayak(s), lawn & gardens, lobster pot, fridge, stove, iron & ironing board, coffee maker, kettle, close to beaches, washer and dryer, no telephone, cell phone reception, 1 queen; 2 twin. Perched a top a 40-foot bluff; Bay Bluff Cottage offers a commanding view of the bay below and the ocean beyond. At the end of a half-mile private driveway, this cottage offers seclusion and privacy.
