The SpaceOne new double bed in a main floor bedroom with private entrance through a carport and off-street parking in a quiet neighborhood. Use one of our bathrooms, the kitchen, sun room and living room with wood pellet stove, TV, stereo, video system and wireless, high-speed internet. There are additional bedrooms upstairs with single, double and queen size beds for larger parties ($10 charge for each additional person over two), We have two dogs who are friendly, but would prefer that guests leave their own pets at home. Our home is within walking distance of the historic parts of this old gold mining town turned capitol city with many galleries, eateries, museums, breweries and live theaters. Hiking and bicycling are especially popular past-times with world-class open spaces and trails in the mountains just beyond our quiet and secluded yard. Within an hour drive there are 3 National Wilderness areas and thousands of acres of National Forest land. Within 3 hours drive there are two National Parks - Yellowstone and Glacier. Helena is also located near lakes, rivers and streams with excellent fishing and floating. Cross-country skiing abounds and downhill skiing is as close as 25 miles away. We are amongst award-winning trout streams and rivers from Yellowstone, through the spectacular Wolf Creek Canyon, and along the Rocky Mountain Front to Glacier National Park. Helena's unique weather is typically dry and sunny, located in a 4,000 foot high valley surrounded by the Rocky Mountains. The continental divide is just 15 miles west, the Missouri River where Lewis and Clark traveled over 200 years ago is 15 miles to the east. It's never too hot and you can always throw on another layer of clothing if you get too cold. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to share the kitchen/dining, laundry, living, sun, and bath rooms. The large, private yard includes a covered porch, extensive shrubery and lawns. The foothills of the Rocky Mountains rise up from the yard and visitors are welcome to make themselves at home inside and out. The guestroom has it's own private entrance off the carport, where there is off-street parking for one car. Guests may use a mountain bike for recreation and transportation. Capital City Health Club is about a mile away, and for a nominal fee, provides a full range of facilities, including pools and saunas. Interaction with GuestsWe know a fair amount about the area if you need information. Birding is a relaxing past-time right in the backyard, an award-winning network of trails are available right out the back-gate, and fishing or swimming holes are available within a 15 minute drive. Museums, art galleries, restaurants and breweries are within a 15 minute walk. Your hosts have lived here since the late 1970's and are interested in Anthropology and History, so we love directing people to unique sites that are close by. We also understand that many people come to Montana for a break from modern day living so we respect your privacy and offer a secluded place to stay. The NeighborhoodBeing in a quiet neighborhood right on the edge of town, we have an award-winning public trail system through the foothills of the Rocky Mountains right out of our back-gate. We are also within walking distance of the historic downtown and capitol areas. Getting AroundThere is a public bus service with a pick up spot about a half mile away. Better yet, this historic part of town is very walker friendly and we maintain a mountain bike for your convenience when there is no snow. Other Things to NoteFree high-speed wireless internet is available indoors and out and we subscribe to Netflix. There are also many places in and around the home to find peace and quiet or to meet with others in privacy.

The SpaceHelena is a great place to visit. Located halfway between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, Helena has been called, "The Best Little Art Town in America." My house is very centrally located. The capital complex, which includes the Historical Museum is only blocks away. A major grocery store is also close. Going in the opposite direction, the downtown area has theaters and shops, art galleries, restaurants, and bars. There are walking trails close by, and many lakes in the surrounding area. There are three bedrooms on the second floor, plus a bathroom with a tub/shower. My guests basically have the second floor to themselves, as my bedroom is on the first floor. The "Montana Room," is more rustic, with antique furniture and mountain-themed artwork. This is the largest of the three rooms. It has a queen sized bed, and a desk area for those needing to work. The "Costa Rica" bedroom is lovely and the bed itself is soooo comfortable! (a queen size bed.) My friend and I traveled to Costa Rica a few years ago and so I filled this room with the many things I bought from that trip. I have a small refrigerator in this bedroom for guests to use. The "Bumblebee Room has a full-sized bed. There is a "chalkboard painted" wall, and so you can spend time drawing your own masterpiece!) This yellow, white and black room is so cheerful and there is a nice desk for those needing a work space. The "Bumblebee Room" and the "Montana Room" have their own sites, with their own calendars, so check these out if you need more than one room.) I work long days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and every other Sunday, but am around on the other days as I teach art/music classes. I have a Keuric coffee and tea maker (one cup coffee maker), and I generally leave out something quick to eat, like banana bread and/or granola and yogurt. I often have fresh fruit out as well. My backyard is lovely. I have put much time and energy into landscaping this small, quiet spot. **** New!! On the days that I am home, I will be offering private hour-long music and/or art lessons for an extra $50 per person. Please let me know when you book if you'd like this option! Guest AccessII have a beautiful Tuscany kitchen that you are welcome to use. My living room and dining area are cozy spots for you to sit and relax. Good news! Even though I'm not a TV watcher, I just recently started getting cable service, so you are welcome to check it out! I also bought a "smart TV" which has wireless capability so that you can stream in movies. You are also welcome to check out my music room, where I have a plethora of musical instruments and sheet music. When the weather is nice, you are welcome to use my bikes. Interaction with GuestsI work part-time, (long days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and every-other Sunday. If I'm not at work, I do enjoy chatting with the airbnb guests! The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is wonderful. Again, the location is ideal in terms of seeing the city, as you can walk or bike to almost everything. I would describe the immediate neighborhood as being very eclectic. Every house in the neighborhood is unique, ranging from tiny houses, to mansions. Our "South Central" neighborhood just held a neighborhood party, indicating the level of community and neighborhood involvement. Getting AroundAgain, when the weather is nice, you are welcome to use my bikes. You can walk to the grocery store, to walking trails, to the Capital complex and to the downtown area. Other Things to NoteThis old house only has one full bathroom. :( I have a half-bath on the first floor, but there is only one bath/shower, so my guests need to share! (This has not been a problem, as generally I don't have multiple guests. However, there are occasional times when all three airbnb rooms are rented.

The SpaceOur home is a 6 bedroom, 3 story home right in the downtown, south central area of Helena. We've also got a great patio for relaxing with a cup of coffee or evening cocktail! The guest room is quiet with a full bath to yourself right next door. There is a TV with full cable (HBO, SHO, CineMax, On Demand) Some DVD's to chose from, even an HDMI cable with a Netflix account! We have filtered water from EVERY tap AND On Demand hot water so you will never run out if you want to take and extra long shower or a super hot bath in your full sized tub! (Occasionally the bathroom (WC only) might be a 'share' with a guest in our downstairs room - but they have their own shower) There IS air conditioning... so you will be comfortable even on the hottest days of summer! If you have children with you...please book the 'No Frills room' also...sleeps up to 3 more on beds and still room for lots of sleeping bags! We've got a kid friendly backyard with lots of room to run around, sandbox, swing and kiddie pool! The SpaceThis 2-story townhouse is located in a quiet part of the Central Capitol Area, the two bedrooms; a spacious double with Queen Beds, and single with a Full Bed; and the bath are all on the upper level. All beds have pillow top deep mattresses. There are also two sofa beds, a full-size in the parlor, the other, a twin, is in the upstairs office/study. The townhouse has been decorated with a 1930's Jazz Age theme containing authentic antique furnishings, combined with many modern conveniences, forced air heating, and air conditioning. Guest AccessGuests have 'exclusive' access to the entire Townhouse, the parking area, and fenced yard in the back. My policy is to only host one "guest" or "group" at a time. The back yard and deck contains tables, chairs and a 4 burner BBQ. There is also a 'traditional' Cedar Lined Sauna for guests to use year-round, especially nice after a day of winter recreation here. Interaction with GuestsThe host lives nearby, has an office/studio next door in the building, and usually is present only when guests check in and out. The NeighborhoodThe Townhouse is conveniently 4 blocks from Walgreens and Safeway and 3 blocks walking distance away from the State Capitol and Offices complex. Getting AroundWe provide off-street parking behind the townhouse. We provide Airport Transportation, but most guests find it more convenient to rent a car, due to the lack of 'reliable' public transportation within the city. There is a "City" area transit system Bus Stop at the Capitol and, another is supposed to be one block from the Townhouse on 6th Avenue with busses stopping about every hour according to the last published schedule. Other Things to NoteThe parlor contains board games, a library of local interest books, and large selection of DVD Movies for guests to use and enjoy during their stay with us. The kitchen is completely furnished and permitted as a 'commercial' kitchen facility. Meal services are available for a slightly higher charge than published here.

The "Costa Rica Room" and the "Montana Room" have their own sites, with their own calendars, so check these out if you need more than one room.) I work long days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and every other Sunday, but am around on the other days as I teach art/music classes. Guest AccessI have a beautiful Tuscany kitchen that you are welcome to use. Every house in the neighborhood is unique, ranging from tiny houses, to mansions! Our "South Central" neighborhood just held a neighborhood party, indicating the level of community and neighborhood involvement. Other Things to NoteThis old house only has one full bathroom. :( I have a half-bath on the first floor, but there is only one bath/shower, so my guests need to share! (This has not been a problem, as generally I don't have multiple guests. However, there are occasional times when all three airbnb rooms are rented.
