In the heart of Victorian High Gate, home to Ken Wood House and the famous High Gate cemetery and resting place of Karl Marx & George Eliot; the apartment is on a beautiful tree-lined avenue on the upper ground floor with just 12 steps to the front door. Once inside everything is on one level. There is double glazing and gas central heating so it stays warm in Winter. The bedroom looks out onto the pleasant garden and Queens Wood, which means a peaceful and Idyllic setting for your stay. You can hear the singing from the birds’ evening chorus and dawn chorus at sunset and sunrise. The bedroom is light and airy with perfect views over Queens Wood in its Autumn colors. The bedroom has ample storage space with a tall double wardrobe, dressing table, small wardrobe and arm chair. The bedroom measures 12 feet 9 inch (3 m 89 cm) by 9 ft 9 in (2 m 97 cm). The bedroom has an English double bed which is 4 ft (1 m 22 cm) by 6 ft 3 in ( 1 m 91 cm). English double beds are all 6 ft 3 in long and shorter than standard continental double beds. Taller guests please note. Tea & coffee making facilities are available 24 hours a day in the kitchen.
A tailored continental breakfast is served in the kitchen and times are usually between 6.30 am and 9.00 am but breakfast outside these times can be arranged, e.g. for earlier departures to catch flights. If you have not had the opportunity to say what you would like on the first morning a sweet continental breakfast of freshly squeezed orange juice, croissants (or crumpets if preferred) with jam, fruit and yogurt is served with tea or coffee. Some guests prefer an alternative continental breakfast can be served of freshly squeezed orange juice, boiled eggs, ham or salami, cheese, salad and bread with tea or coffee. All guest preferences will be accommodated if possible, just as you would expect when going to stay with friends. Our housekeeping standards are the best. The bed will be made daily and the bedroom cleaned daily as are the other areas. Bed linen is changed twice a week. More frequent changing can be accommodated if needed. Fresh towels can be provided daily but guests may prefer to have towels changed less frequently from an environmental perspective. Other laundry needs may be accommodated.
The bathroom, which is also used by your host, has an original wash basin, and a cast iron bath and thermostatic over bath shower, with high level cistern water closet (WC toilet). The bathroom has softened water for a touch of luxury. The living room, which is shared with your host, has two sofas and a large screen plasma television, with the full range of digital free view and free satellite channels. The television is wired with High Definition cables allowing you to connect your laptop hardware to access your multimedia accounts. This means you can watch your Netflix movies on large screen. Free Internet access provided Guest AccessAs a guest you have priority access to the bathroom. Also, you are welcome to use the kitchen, where breakfast is served, to prepare hot drinks or a light meal at other times. You are welcome to use the living room to watch television, listen to music or relax. Internet access is provided free.
Parking is available free on the street on a first come first served basis. Off street private parking which is more secure may be available on inquiry.

Equally, that can mean being on hand for a friendly chat and to offer advice, or simply making sure your itinerary is accommodated and goes to plan. The NeighborhoodThe smart village of Highgate, nestled between woods and parkland north of central London first attracted Victorians in search of the clean air in the pretty hilltop village. This neighborhood is chosen by many celebrities, artists and intellectuals, including Sting, George Michael and Kate Moss, who recently bought the house, which was home to the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Other historic writers and poets whose homes are celebrated with blue plaques or older brown plaques in High gate. Overlooking Queen’s Wood historic woodland in a beautiful and safe residential tree-lined road between High gate Wood is where we are located. Many excellent restaurants and cafeterias, as well as tennis courts in Water low Park, are close by. Equally you can enjoy the outdoors with the amenities of Queens Wood, Parkland Walk and High gate Wood on the doorstep. Hamp stead Heath, where Summer concerts are hosted at Ken wood House, is also a walk away. There are corner shops with excellent shopping nearby in fashionable Crouch End. Whether you are a business travelers needing to be in easy reach of the City or visiting London for a short holiday break this location is ideal offering brilliant connections and relief from crowds of tourists in the center of London. Getting AroundMoments from High gate underground station, a direct connection from St Pancras International, as well as Euston, London Bridge, Kings Cross and Charing Cross and Waterloo national rail stations. London’s night buses connect you from the West End in just 15 minutes. Both road and public transport connections to Heathrow airport are excellent with only one change on the London Underground. The City, the British Museum, Leicester Square, and West End nightlife can all be reached direct by bus or underground. It is a genuine 5 minute walk from the front door to High gate tube (zone 3) on the Northern Line. Archway tube (zone 2) is a longer walk. There are several 24 hour buses (43, 134, N 20) with the W 5 and 263 just as close. London’s night buses connect you from the West End in just 15 minutes. The City, the British Museum, Leicester Square, and West End nightlife can all be reached direct by bus or underground. Other Things to NoteOn check-in passports or national identity cards will need to be scanned. Pillows and duvets are synthetic and regularly laundered at hotter temperatures to minimize allergy risk.
