Getting AroundThe Metra stop, exactly 1.1 miles to the east gives you access to the south where the end is Ogilvie Center in Downtown Chicago or north to Kenosha, Wisconsin shopping malls or even Milwaukee. Pizza? Barnaby's is a short drive or a longer walk south on Skokie Valley Rd, just south about 1/4 mile of Dundee Rd., the next east-west street south of us.

Looking for stroll in The Chicago Botanic Garden. An amazing array of plants, sites and smells that are all free when you walk from our place, or bring your bike and cruise through to the forest preserve south that runs for 10 miles.. Parking is $25 at the garden. Want a more wooded experience, just down the street is a forest preserve and Green Bay Trail that offers the hiker and biker a great walk either north to downtown Highland Park and HIghwood and beyond or south for a hearty walk to Glencoe, Winnetka or even a grand hike to Wilmette. Take the train back north.
Or if you want to tour, take the Metra train to Kenosha, Wisconsin and vist the outlet malls and come back the same day.
Local theater includes Writers Theater in Glencoe for stage plays and several movie theaters at Northbrook Court AMC, and a broader selection at Rennissance Theater in downtown Highland Park. There are several restaurants and unique shops downtown.
