Hike to Hillsboro Peak. Hillsboro is a cool little town, quiet, a great get away especially for creative folks. The house has really cool historical ties to movers and shakers in territorial New Mexico, the Victorio War and Geronimo campaign, the supreme court, Sheriff Pat Garrett, President Harding's Tea Pot Dome Scandal. For those reasons, and its most unusual architecture it's a New Mexico Cultural Property and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The home is made of lava-like iron silicate blocks, featured in New Mexico Magazine and the book, Houses in Time. Check out www rotation films com/documentary/88042 and http:// hillsborohistory.
