Location Easily accessible from Goolwa over the Hindmarsh Island Bridge you'll find a nice little corner of the world to experience. From here you can also easily access great beaches near the Murray Mouth and Mundoo Barrage. The Island also forms the boundary for the Coorong National Park. The Coorong is a place of tranquility, solitude and wonderment. A place that calms the mind, soothes the soul and appeases the senses. Venture into a timeless, untamed wilderness and marvel at the diversity nature has provided. A great way to experience the Coorong is through Spirit of Coorong Cruise.

Shops and restaurants are within walking distance and wineries offer cellar door tastings. There is a walking and bicycle track. Interaction with GuestsWe can offer our overseas guests guidance about local tours and even plan an itinerary if you want ! We are boaties and can host you on a River Cruiser for a small additional fee. The NeighborhoodLooking out at the river is so relaxing, and there are always river and sailing boats passing by. The 'Oscar W' is a restored paddle steamer that often goes by, giving a wonderful insight to what transport on the river would have been like when Goolwa was first settled. Getting AroundGoolwa is an hour from Adelaide, so a car will give you the most flexibility whilst you are visiting. Cafes, restaurants and markets in Goolwa are within easy walking distance.

    Our light, spacious and modern house is very well appointed and only a couple of minutes walk to the river. There are a range of facilities nearby including, fishing, sailing (sailing school), 2 boat ramps, marina, tennis, wetlands and hiking.

It's also a perfect spot to break your trip when travelling between Melbourne and Adelaide via the Great Ocean Road and Southern Ocean Drive. The NeighborhoodCoorong Waterfront Retreat is located in a rural area. The house is one of a small number of holiday houses and residences facing onto the Coorong Lagoon. The Coorong National Park is a wetland of international significance and an important habitat for migratory and resident birdlife. Our nearest town Meningie (12 minutes drive) is situated on beautiful Lake Albert. There are 2 small supermarkets in Meningie, a hotel, restaurant, museum, playground, walking trails and many other facilities. Pack a picnic and explore the many tracks and trails in the Coorong National Park. If your feeling energetic use the kayaks provided and paddle across the 2km wide Lagoon to the sand-dunes then trek for 1km to the ocean beach for a pure wilderness experience. Getting AroundCoorong Waterfront Retreat can be accessed by car. Public transport is not available. Undercover parking is available for one car and additional onsite parking is available in your driveway.
