OWNER SUPPLIED TESTIMONIAL We just returned from celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in Hana and it was just what we were hoping for. Hana Beachfront Hale provided a true Hawaiian experience because it is steps from the lovely Hana Bay, peaceful, surrounded by plants and flowers, private and quiet! The ocean facing windows with no window coverings brought the outdoors in. Yet, it was still private because of the higher elevation of the home. The wrap-around lanai with large overhanging roof allowed us to sit outside and stay dry while it rained. There were no barking dogs or crowing roosters. Just nice neighbors out for a stroll who would wave as they passed. Everyone waved to us in Hana and we felt very welcomed. The Aloha Spirit is alive & well in Hana! The kitchen was beautiful, modern and complete including a full-sized oven & refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave oven. Coffee maker, coffee and filters provided. Ceiling fans were in every room. The beds were very comfortable. The 2 person shower (2 shower heads) was romantic and efficient. We never turned on either of the TVs. We were also very impressed with the communication of the property manager. Rebecca was friendly, efficient and prompt in answering our questions. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. Kelley O., October 2015 25% deposit on credit card to make a reservation. Payment due in full 30 days prior to arrival. The SpaceAttractively furnished, this light filled, airy space features commanding views of the ocean and coastline just across the street. Eclectic artwork lines the walls throughout, and a fully equipped kitchen with gas range & oven welcomes your culinary skills. Source locally caught fish and farm fresh local produce and get creative! When night falls slip into the extremely comfortable King-Size bed and let the sounds of ocean lull you to sleep, then wake to a view of the sunrise over the ocean from between the sheets. If you feel the need to stay connected to the outside world (though why would you?), wireless internet and digital cable TV is included. Guest AccessGuests will have full access to the main house and complete privacy during your stay. A partially attached Ohana suite remains unoccupied during your stay. Interaction with GuestsYou'll be greeted upon your arrival and provided a brief tour of the accommodations, and we'll update you about pertinent goings-on that may be of interest to you. Feel free to ask all the questions you wish! The NeighborhoodWe are located in the Kaawaloa "ahupua'a" (district) of Hāna, 5 miles south of Hāna Town. Our long stretch of road sets just above the coastline, so most home in our neighborhood is blessed with stunning ocean views. The area is made up of long time local families along with many residents originally from all over the U.S. mainland. We are a tight-knit neighborhood where everyone watches out for each other and shares their Aloha freely and abundantly. We are surrounded by incredible nature, and early morning or sunset walks through the area can be exhilarating. Nights are dark and quiet, with star-filled skies and brightly lit full moons. You may not want to leave! Getting AroundOne thing that makes Hāna so desirable is it's remoteness. While only 35 miles from the closet commercial hub and flow of Maui, Paia, you feel worlds away. Getting to Hāna is limited, so having your own vehicle is crucial. Be sure to make car rental reservations well ahead of your trip. The drive on the Hāna Highway is extraordinary, and you will want to take your time as there is so much to see. Once your arrive in Hāna, driving around is a piece of cake! Other Things to NoteHāna is a tropical place! The verdant foliage and mild climate support an abundance of insect and animal life. But no snakes anywhere in Hawaii! Awaken each morning to a chorus of birds. Our location in Kaawaloa is dryer and sunnier than the denser rain forests areas of Hāna. That means we have fewer mosquitoes and other insects. However, we do recommend you bring your favorite insect repellent just in case. We make every effort to keep your accommodations free of pests. Leaving food out and uncovered may attract ants and other unwanted visitors.

The SpaceThe private suite includes free Wi-Fi service and satellite TV to keep you connected to the rest of the world while you enjoy your stay. We request that you check in before dark. If you arrive in Hana before 2 pm, the Hana Health Center sells fresh vegetables that they grow on the property. We also have lime, lemon, papaya, coconut, avocado, banana, mango and bread fruit trees on the property. Something is almost always producing fruit. The property is rejuvenating and Hana brings out creativity - everyone always says how wonderful they feel and that their only regret is that they didn't plan to stay longer. Explore Hana Town and visit the local shops and food stands along the road. Visit amazing tropical wonders such as Hamoa Bay and the unforgettable Pipiwai Trail and bamboo forest in Kipahulu. Taste ono grinds and true organic vegetables and fruits at local markets. Meet the locals and experience what true Hawaiian culture and life is all about. Take note that the road to Hana is a long and winding one - both ways. Be prepared to spend a full day driving one way. We recommend driving the highway in its entirety, it is an experience in its own. On your return to the other side of the island, if you time your adventure right, you can witness sunset at Haleakala Crater - - 10,000 feet above the Central Valley of Maui! Your journey to Hana - in car, on bike, or even on foot - is waiting, come visit! Guest AccessAll spaces are accessible to guests, with the exception of 1 small locked cabinet. Guests check in at the front desk and are issued keys to the unit. After hours checkin is also available via a lockbox and key code. Interaction with GuestsWe are fully staffed and offer daily housekeeping free of charge. Our front desk is open from 8am - 8pm daily and staff are available after hours by simply calling our After-Hours On Call Manager. We have an informative guest book with extensive information on the Hana area, the sites, activities and services available in the area. The NeighborhoodHana is known as the last Hawaiian place. Our community is still predominantly Hawaiian. Hana has a rich history and the Hawaiian population in this area once numbered in the hundreds of thousands. Today Hana's population is under 2000, from Keanae to Kaupo, a 40 mile coastal radius. Hana Kai is centrally located and easily accessible. The property is nestled along the North side of Hana Bay at the entrance to Waikoloa Beach. Although we do not recommend swimming (except on very calm days), Waikoloa Beach is wonderful to explore and you can actually walk for several miles on the coastal trail to Waianapanapa State park. Hana Bay is a precious resource to the community and you may see fisherman netting Akule, keiki swimming in the gentle shore break at Hana Bay, dolphins and sometimes whales, turtles along the rocks or canoe paddlers practicing for an upcoming regatta. Getting AroundRental cars are a necessity in Hana. Public transportation is not available and the nearest car rental is located in Kahului. We do have a small airport in Hana if some of the group prefers to fly, but again no car rental in Hana. Other Things to NoteWe offer WiFi free of charge. Our units are NOT equipped with Televisions or Air Conditioning. Units are cooled by gentle the gentle ocean breeze and we also have ceiling fans. Unit 204 is on the 2nd (top) floor of the Mauka (mountain) building.
