Giraffe Lodge is a charming house in the heart of the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, an area where many species of animals live. Gazelles, warthogs, giraffes, zebras live at your doorstep and the estate is a bird paradise.
The house is surrounded by a private bush area of 4900 square meters. Inside the house, on the ground floor, there are a large living room, the open kitchen, two very large bedrooms with king size beds and the bathroom with shower and bathtub. One of the two bedrooms has direct access to an outdoor shower.
On the first floor there is a bedroom with two single beds and a balcony where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the bush and the mountains. In the outdoor area you can enjoy a large patio with a nice splash pool to cool off in the summertime. A dinner table under a nice pergola is available to have a pool-site lunch or a braai with friends.
Hoedspruit is a small town sorrounded by Kruger Park, Blyde River and the most famous private game reserves of South Africa. From the Big 5 game areas to the Blyde River Canyon, there are an extensively wide range of adventure and daily activities one can partake in while visiting the region. Home to a variety of game species, Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate is the perfect place to spend some time in nature.
The estate is 680ha in size, with each lodge set on a half hectare stand. Game moves freely between the lodges, so you can either let the wildlife come to you, or go by yourself on a game drive on one of the estateâ€™s game drive routes. Security is strictly monitored through a security gate with 24 hour access control. The estate is located just a few hundred metres outside Hoedspruit, and is close to a number of restaurants, pubs and shops.
In the Estate itself, you can make bike and horse riding, a few kilometers away you can find adventure trails or flying over streams and through forests (canopy).
You can flights in a balloon or by a microlight aircraft.
Golf lovers will find two close courses. Hans Merensky is one of the most beautiful 18 hole golf courses in the world and it takes only 45 minute drive,
Many wildlife animals Rehab Centres are in this area: Hoadspruit Endangered Species Centre (HESC, Cheeta Project), Moholoholo, Jessyca Hippo, are only few examples.
Hoedspruit is strategically located near the Drakensberg mountains, where you can drive along the famous Panaroma Route (Graskop, Pinnacle Rock, God's window, Pilgrim's Rest and Bourke's Luck Potholes).
The spectacular Blyde River Canyon and the three rondavelas are easily reachable in about half an hour and you can also admire them from the water, by a beautiful boat trip, which departs from the Blyde River Dam.
