Hi, We're a family of 3 (one female aged 34 and two children aged 10 and 8). We have a little dog named Molly and two cute fluffy cats that you'll adore. We're a friendly and hospitable family household that loves technology and creativity. Our home is a 10 minute walk to shops and restaurants in the Sunnybank hub area, a two minute walk to public transport and in close proximity to Griffith University and Garden City Shopping Centre. We have a swimming pool for those hot summer days, three bedrooms in total, two living rooms and a large front and backyard. We enjoy creating a happy home away from home that you'll enjoy and will want to come back to. We've enjoyed everyone that has stayed with us, and they have remained our friends throughout the years. The SpaceNice comfortable house with yard in great location to Brisbane City, Southbank, Airport, Universities, and to access Theme Parks and Gold Coast via buses, trains, or car. Bus stops are right out the front! We have pets so you must be ok with birds and dogs. The dogs are very friendly!!!! :) We also have a newborn son born in September. You have access to your bedroom, kitchen and all you may need, lounge room, bathroom and laundry(washing machine and powder), yard. Linen and towels will be provided. There is a heater in the bottom drawer, spare blankets there too, ceiling fans in bedrooms and lounge room. 48" tv and cd player/radio in loungeroom, 40" in guest room. Iron and ironing board, hairdryer and straighter) We are friendly and enjoy meeting new people and will endeavour to greet you around work hours. We also like our space as I'm sure you will too, so you can do your own thing or you are welcome to get out and about with us at times. My neighbourhood is very safe with easy access to many needs. There are ample shops, large supermarkets etc within 5 minutes drive or an easy bus ride with bus stops right out the front, coffee shop/cafe, post box all 1 minute walk around the corner from the house, on lumley street. My street is a little busy at times with traffic (but it doesnt pose a problem) as its is in close proximity to major roads and motorways for getting to Brisbane airport (approx 15 mins drive), Brisbane City (15 mins), Theme Parks - Movie World, Wet'n'Wild, Dreamworld/Whitewater World (approx 40 mins), Gold Coast and Sea World (approx 1hr), Griffith University (under 10 mins) and the large Westfield Shopping Centre at Garden City (5mins) There is a bus stop right out the front or a transit link 10-15 mins walk down the road which gets you to either train stations (closest train station is approx 10 mins drive away), or straight into the city. There are many easy options to get around. I can find out specifcs if needed. Bus 184 gets you from Garden City(where you will get a bus to from either airport or Roma Street train station etc) to Cale Street which is where we are. Basic breakfast items such as cereals, eggs, bread, will be available for the first two days of a stay and to help with the longer stay bookings to get started :) Guest AccessYou can use the lounge room when you like also. Sometimes its nice to sit on the big reclining lounge rather than your small 2 seater in your room. :) Interaction with GuestsWe like to give you space, but also are happy to have conversations, dinner or even drink/dance outings if you like! My daughter and I live in a lovely leafy suburb 12 kms away from the city, south Brisbane . We are close to transport, universities, shops, parks and the beach. My house is about 30 years ago with lovely brick front and landscaped gardens. Internally I have 4 bedrooms of which 2 are occupied by my daughter and myself, 3 spacious living areas, large kitchen and dining area. We have a large backyard occupied by a large beautiful pool. We do love our backyard barbecues. I love cooking and baking so you would love to enjoy a few treats from time to time. We live within walking distance to transport, shops and cafe. The city is about 12 kms away and the beach is approximately the same distance too. I love to be hospitable and am looking for a friendly home guest.

I live in a very quiet suburb with lots of parks around me. The bus stop to the city is only a 15 minute ride and the stop is very close. I have a student who is doing year 12 at present who has been with me since the beginning of year 11. We don't have any pets but there are two very friendly poodles next door that like to say Hello. I am very interested in photography and making photo books. I also knit and sew. My house is not large but very comfortable. I am more than happy to show students around Brisbane and surrounding areas.

The SpaceThe house is very clean and tidy and very comfortable. It is a light and airy space and there are plenty of spaces to sit and relax. Guest AccessThe guests will have access to all the amenities. Interaction with GuestsI will endeavour to make my guests very welcome and assist wherever possible. The NeighborhoodMy neighbourhood is in a great location very close to the M1. It is a short drive to the Mt Gravatt lookout and toohey forest where there are great bush walks. It is within walking distance to Griffith University Mt Gravatt campus. A coffee shop is within walking distance which is great. There are loads of green spaces and plenty of trees very peaceful and quiet but all within a short distance to west end, southbank and the city or valley. Getting AroundThere is great public transport the busway is within walking distance and the buses are very frequent to southbank and the city. Other Things to Note The pets are both indoors and outdoors but are very friendly.

The SpacePrivate room in family home, close to public transport, 15-20 mins by direct bus to City, easy Freeway access; yet, quiet and peaceful, you will hear plenty of birds including kookaburras, magpies and butcher birds. There are plenty of possums and bush turkeys about. Close to parks, transport, schools, university. We can help with settling into Brisbane, or if you are having a holiday, advise you on the best ways to get to theme parks, beaches or the mountains. The Gold Coast is only 45 minutes away by road, and with the new tunnels, the Sunshine coast is just over an hour away. Airport access via the new airport link is an amazing 20 minutes. ( Yes. we tested it!) The guest bedroom has a queen bed with another guest bedroom across a small hallway. The two guest rooms share a bathroom with a shower, towels provided, yes there is a hair dryer too! (If you need more space, you can book the second bedroom as well.) It is in the front of the house, so you have privacy from the family if you like. The house is a post-war home on two levels, so you will need to climb a few stairs to get inside, and out. We can provide you with the evening meal at a small charge with prior notice. You are free to cook your own food, just give us notice so that we can clear up and leave you to it! There is also a barbeque in the pergola area that you can use. The living room has a TV and Blu-ray, that you are welcome to use. We can provide you with wireless internet for email and browsing. The living room is equipped with microwave, electric kettle and toaster for your use.

we live in a quiet suburb close to the CBD of Brisbane within walking distance to shops, bus stops and parks. Our brick house has 5 bedrooms, aircon , a piano and a cozy fireplace for cool nights. A large spacious patio with a BBQ overlooks the garden. I love cooking and gardening and we have daily fresh eggs from our 4 chickens. Andrew is a keen surfer and motorsport enthusiast. He will love to take you to an Aussie rugby game.

The SpaceThe unit is nice and well presented, with a view of the pool and entertainment area. Fantastically convenient location with one of Australia's largest shopping centres and many restaurants within 10 minutes walk. Relax at the end of the day on the lounges in the entertainment area with a refreshment, or have a cool off in the pool. Pool. Shared Laundry. Bunnings 5 minute drive. Shopping centre 10 mins walk. Easy access to university (5 min drive), Sunnybank for great Asian restaraunts ( 5 min drive) and the freeway to the Gold Coast or into town only 2 minutes away off Logan rd. Guest AccessPool. We are usually around watching TV or on the internet if guests want to join us. We love to help our guests as much as possible - best transport to places, interesting sights to see and where to shop! We value privacy so if guests want to keep to themselves that is perfectly fine, on the other hand if guests want someone to chat to we are happy to oblige. The NeighborhoodOur neighbourhood is in suburbia and we live within walking distance to parks, bike path and convenience stores (even a Maccas!). Living opposite a large high school's oval guests can take advantage of it after school hours for jogging, sports or basketball. Our home is close to a bus stop with bus routes to Brisbane city in one direction and Garden City (a large shopping complex) in the opposite direction. Getting AroundStreet parking is available outside. Bus stop is less than 5 minutes walk. To arrive from Brisbane airport head South on the Gateway, over the Gateway Bridge. Exit the Mt-Gravatt-Capalaba exit. Head right toward Mt Gravatt then right onto Broadwater Road. Our street is 2nd right - Ham Road. We are close to the Gateway if guests have a car and want to go to either the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast. Gold Coast is approximately 45 minutes away (Northern end) and Sunshine Coast approximately 1 1/2 hours. We are about 20 minutes from Brisbane CBD. The times are dependant on traffic. Other Things to NoteBreakfast of toast, tea and coffee is supplied. We supply tea, coffee and toast for a light breakfast. We own two large dogs who are very used to people coming and going (as long as they know it's ok). As the dogs are part of the family they do come inside to the living area in the evenings. They are not permitted in any of the bedrooms.

The SpaceThis apartment is SELF-CONTAINED - (no sharing) -sleeping from 4 to 6 (seven at a pinch) with excellent Telstra Cable WiFi. Our space isn't brand new or five star, but it's INEXPENSIVE, it's very CLEAN and close to buses with convenient access to universities and the city. We think it's 5 star for good value, and we hope guests can reflect that in their reviews if they agree :) LOUNGE ROOM/DINING area is one room. The lounge area has three sofas and a coffee table with a large modern flat-screen TV ...LG 43" Full HD LED LCD TV and it gets all the free to air channels -special thanks to Derek for letting us know about previous TV issues. . The lounge/dining area is cosy and perhaps a little cluttered, but that is the trade-off to have adequate furniture for up to six people. The dining area has a large rectangular dining table with six solid wooden chairs (inbuilt cushions). The BATHROOM has clean white tiling NB: There is only one bathroom –so please plan accordingly. A group needs to consider the extra shower time that may be required using only one bathroom. The KITCHENETTE has a refrigerator, microwave oven, & stove. The kitchenette is small but adequate for a short stay. The BEDROOMS have great beds with fresh clean linen (all sheets, pillowslips, towels and mats are washed after every visit). The bedrooms are very large with clean white tiling and carpets. Both main bedrooms are air conditioned with good size reverse cycle air conditioners (heating and cooling). Beds (see bed layout diagrams) a) Bedroom 1 has two single beds and a large corner desk with power outlets for phones and computers. b) Bedroom 2 has a single bed and a double bed and a large corner desk with power outlets for phones and laptops. c) The lounge room also doubles as a third bedroom (closable door for privacy) for large groups, with a sofa-bed that folds out to a comfortable double bed. The laundry includes a front-loader washing machine and a large tub, clothes basket and an outdoor large clothes line for drying clothes. Please ask if you have any questions, John & Jarling. Guest AccessYou will also have access to very fast Internet and a spacious backyard with a great BBQ area. There is no night lighting for the BBQ area, but there are security lights around the apartment. The BBQ area is outside and because it is only used occasionally, if you would like to use it ...please let us know and we will give the area a spruce up and clean the BBQ. Interaction with GuestsWe like to let guests enjoy their privacy without unnecessary interruption. Because we live onsite in another apartment we are nearly always personally available if you have any questions. The NeighborhoodIt's a quiet neighbourhood with lots of natural bird-life. We often have bush turkeys in the backyard -(especially after rain), as well as kookaburra's, owls and cockatoos. It's conveniently located close to two Griffith Universities, and about 18 minutes by bus from Queensland University or the city, as well as two major shopping centers (walking distance). Getting AroundIt's close to convenient public transport to Brisbane City or the Gold Coast. There is off street parking for one car, and more parking on the quiet street. From the airport, the easiest for four or five people to travel here is by taxi, costing around $65.00. The most cost effective way for a group can be to hire a car. (URL HIDDEN) Will search all the local hire companies. If you are by yourself, the most effective way is to catch the Air-train to Southbank Train Station, walk across the road to Southbank Busway, and take the 140 or 130 Bus directly to "Mains Rd Park and Ride" (one stop past Griffith University Busway). This journey will cost about $20.00 for an adult (bit less with a "Go Card" -or you can buy a tourist Go Card for unlimited public transport travel while you are here. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) "Translink Tourist Go Card" for detils. Other Things to NoteGuests, please note ...AirBNB does not permit any exchange of contact information prior to booking. Even if we sent each other phone numbers or email addresses AirBNB software WILL DELETE THEM. Give it a try and look at you message after you send it. You will see, thanks. Please do not ask us if you can inspect the apartment prior to booking, because we are unable to do this. If you have any questions regarding this ...please contact AirBNB ...hope you understand this situation. On the positive side ...if there is anything you are particularly interested in seeing ...please let us know, and we will take a photo and post it on the listing. Also on the positive side ...AirBNB's policy keeps all parties safe, because it prevents scams and provides insurance for both parties. We don't supply meals for guests, but when you arrive you might be tired and hungry and we want you to feel comfortable. We have a single door full size refrigerator with a freezer for your perishable food after you go shopping. There are two shopping centers quite close (we often walk) ...but remember, supermarkets close at 5PM in Queensland on Saturdays. We supply freshly washed towels for all guests as well as soap, shampoo and conditioner and extra toilet paper. Edit: 18th Feb 2016 Recent events cause me to clarify an issue: If you feel some aspect of the apartment or your stay needs improving (TV, bedding layout, water pressure/heat etc.) please let us know and we will endeavour to rectify the issue as soon as is practicable. Experience shows that some people (very few) use complaints as a ploy in obtaining a discount. Please see our cancellation policy. If you think we are being unreasonable, please advise AirBNB and we will take their advice into consideration. Update 21 Feb 2016. We are experiencing some issues with ants just at present. We have found a very effective treatment, but this does result in a build up of dead ants while the treatment takes effect. Please let us know if this becomes a problem during your stay, and we will vacuum and clean the affected area. We also provide a vacuum for use by guests to help keep the apartment clean. The Space2 bedrooms (one double, one with twin beds and an extra foam mattress can also be supplied) in large house with pool, free wifi and all modern conveniences. Close to Griffith University, PA AND QE2 hospitals and Toohey forest. Walk to bus and shopping. Friendly host who knows the area backwards. There is now a newly installed kitchenette with microwave, fridge, 2 hotplates, sink, toaster, kettle and rice cooker. This is a flat contained within my home and I live downstairs. Guest AccessGuests will have access to a living area, kitchenette, own bathroom, share laundry, pool,deck and two bedrooms in the home. This space is seperate and private from the rest of the house with its own entrance and back door. The NeighborhoodQuiet and leafy neighbourhood, but close to the city Native busland walking/cycling tracks and a few good cafes and restaurants nearby. The Tarragindi Thai is a favourite and there is also a good Indian restaurant (Bay Leaf) and Italian (Puccinis). Great fish and chips , bakery and convenience store within walking distance. Leaf cafe makes great coffee....also within walking distance. Maccas, Sushi train, Subway and a gourmet burger place are just over the hill in Nathan as is Salisbury Hotel if you like a tipple and pub food. Sunnybank and all of its fab cheap asian cuisine is a 10 minute drive. . Easy access to QE2 and PA Hospitals. Getting Around120 bus from the city or the 112, both within strolling distance. Rail is also not far. I can provide go cards for you to use while you are here that can be returned at the end of your stay. There are 3 pushbikes and helmets available for use for free and one is electric so very easy to use. Getting AroundThere is the busway (road dedicated to buses) station behind the shopping center where you can get to the CBD in 15 mn, station to station at the best times. Prices vary depending of the time of the day, the number of trips, you can buy a card. For more details I recommend to visit (URL HIDDEN) the Brisbane public transports site. To go to the bus station at the shopping center you'll have to walk some 10 minutes. Very easy when the shopping center is opened as you can cross it, but in the early morning and afternonn, you'll have to walk around the center, which is a bit longer.

We are a happy couple whose children are all grown up and live away from home. We welcome guests into our family and treat them like family. We are both ex-teachers. Juliet is Asian and Mark is Australian, so we eat a wide range of foods. We speak English and we enjoy having homestay guests. We like to experience the different cultures. We live in a nice, leafy suburb about 12mins drive from the city. Our lovely home is quiet and has a beautiful swimming pool to cool you down on a hot summer’s day. Brisbane has a beautiful climate with warm summers and mild winters. Our street is quiet and safe. The bus stop is about 2 mins walk and were very close to two main shopping centres, including Sunnybank which provides a rich and diverse range of shopping and dining. The huge Garden City shopping centre is about 2 mins drive from our home and easily accessible by bus. We are walking distance from Griffith University (Nathan campus) and about 20-30 mins bus ride to other universities (UQ and QUT) and the city.

The SpaceOur apartment is modern and clean and will be perfect for a short - medium term stay in Brisbane. It has a comfy queen sized bed (with clean sheets, towels and pillows), lounge and dining space, modern bathroom with separate shower, kitchenette (toaster, kettle, fridge, microwave, small oven, frypan) TV, internet access, fan cooling as well as an alfresco outdoor dining area which opens on to the leafy garden. There are continental breakfast provisions - cereal, bread for toast, butter, jam, honey, milk, juice, tea, coffee. There are enough provisions for the short term stay and enough to get longer term stays started. Guest AccessGuests will have private entry and exit to the apartment which is located on the ground floor of our house. And there is ample on-street car parking Interaction with GuestsGenerally Tanya will welcome you to our studio. If she can't meet you she will advise you about the key and try to catch up with you at some stage during your stay. We lead fairly busy lives working and raising our two children (tween/teenagers) however we also are at home most evenings and on weekends. Our children are very well behaved however from time to time will create some noise getting ready for school. If you know yourself to be a late and or/light sleeper and will be bothered by noise in the mornings then this will probably not be the best place for you. We look forward to meeting you... There is easy public transport(bus) to the City and Garden City Shopping centre just a short 3 - 5 minute walk from our house. There is a small group of shops (general store, 2 takeaways, florist, hairdresser and a fantastic coffee shop) just one minute's walk from your doorstep. Getting AroundThere are 2 bus services that are an easy 3 - 5 minute walk that go to a major shopping centre - Garden City - and direct into Brisbane City. Each trip takes roughly 15 - 20 minutes. From both of these major centres you can connect easily to other train and ferry services as well.

I live with my mother and friend in a large, beautiful five bedroom house in the southern suburbs of brisbane. The home is in a quiet, clean neighbourhood and is five minutes from major shops and close to public transport. There's two livings rooms and two dinning rooms, a large kitchen and two bathrooms. There is heaps of car space, a massive back yard and patio area and we provide internet for those who stay with us. There's a number of beautiful parks around and the city centre is only 25mins away by public transport. Its a relaxed and warm environment and we enjoy getting to know people of different cultures.

I live in a modern 3 level house in a quiet, leafy street on the south side of Brisbane, 9km from the city. Sweeping panoramic views over foothills to Mt Gravatt provide a tranquil setting, perfect for socialising with friends or just relaxing. The bus stop is a short 170m walk and regular buses travel directly into Brisbane City and popular Fortitude Valley night spots. MSIT (Brisbane South) is only a 700m walk and we are less than 10 minutes from Griffith Uni and both major shopping centres, Carindale and Garden City. The house has 4 bedrooms which all have immediate access to different verandas. There are 2 bathrooms and separate lounge, dining, kitchen, laundry, plus there is a media and games room complete with quality snooker table. Both TV rooms are equipped with IQ-2 foxtel and surround sound. My 18 year old daughter has just moved to Tokyo where she has a 15 month contract with Disneyland as a dancer/actor in the show 'One Man's Dream-2'. We had both been learning Japanese before she left on Feb 1st and I intend to make some short trips to Japan to visit during her time there. The Gold Coast is only a 45 minute drive and as a keen surfer I make regular trips there. As a full time PE & Science teacher and a professional basketball coach, my interests include sport generally, but also film, music, travel, reading, cooking and socialising. This house offers tidy peaceful surroundings, friendly adult company and super convenient access to city, Griffith Unis , MSIT and major shopping centres. It would be ideally suited to international students or travellers, especially (but not only) Japanese people with a keen interest in surfing and improving language skills (yours and mine).
