The SpaceThe apartment is very clean, bright, and airy with one large main space unhindered by walls or hallways. Newly renovated with washer/dryer, stove/oven/mic, Wifi, all the expected western amenities. Beautiful open kitchen plan with island bar seating as well as a separate large dining table. Each bedroom and the main space have separately controlled AC/heating units. HD TV with DVD player, Bose sound system from which you can plug in your own music for the main room, and there are also speakers in the 2nd bedroom. The bedroom itself is a guest bedroom so usually not in use, with shelves and a closet of storage for your clothes and belongings/ full length mirror. Hair dryer, clothes steamer, iron etc on request. Comfortably fits 2 people in the bedroom. Guest AccessThe bedroom listed is a 2nd bedroom, sharing one bathroom/shower. You are welcome to use any space of the apartment aside from my own bedroom as your own. When I am in town, I will list this as 1 BR - and when I'm out of town I will list it as a whole apartment (1 BR). Interaction with GuestsVery happy to offer recommendations around the city and Asia as I've lived here for nearly 10 yrs. However, I have a pretty busy schedule when in town and so will not be around often in person. The NeighborhoodSai Ying Pun is a newer, more laid-back version of Soho, complete with the escalators through levels of restaurants and bars. The big difference is that SYP has its own MTR stop now (open for 1 yr) with entrances on 3 different streets, so it is extremely convenient for getting around HK Island, even to Kowloon, and getting home. There is an ATM cash point, Starbucks, 2 grocery stores, MTR entrance, big/small bus/ taxi stands all at the intersection which the building sits with a 711 down the block. There are plenty of restaurants close to you here in SYP an escalator down, as well as a few bars, fast-food joints, take-away delis, liquor and wine store, etc. Getting AroundThe apartment is literally on the block of the MTR so you can't get much closer than this. SYP station is 2 stops from Central, 1 stop from Sheung Wan (full of cool spots as well), and 2 stops from Kennedy Town which in its own right is popping up as another area of restaurant and bars. At the same time, the apartment is a 10-min walk (or 2-min ride jumping on any of the minibuses) straight down the street from the MTR entrance to Soho, Midlevels, etc. Taxis stop right in front of the building so no need to walk in your heels up and down the extra stairs and slopes that HK is so infamous for.
From the airport you can take the 26-minute airport express train into Central and change to the Blue Island line 2 stops to SYP (Exit C to Bonham Road). Apartment is on this block. Other Things to NoteI have a very cool dwarf bunny that looks like a panda. He makes no noise, does not smell, is potty trained, and can also be in a cage in my own bedroom when I have guests so you will not have to see him unless you specifically want to play with him (which most people do). I also love to read and travel and have accumulated a good collection of travel guides (for HK and the rest of the world) and books that you are free to peruse during your stay as well.
