The SpaceCharming furnished bedroom on the top floor with a private sitting area down below for rent in a very quiet residential area in the Heights of Hood River. (800 total square feet) The bedroom, upstairs, is very spacious and overlooks the gardens. It has a very inviting atmosphere and lots of character with custom wood trim. There is also a view of Mt. Hood from the bedroom. Queen Sleep Number Bed. You must enjoy taking baths as there is NO shower. It is a Large Jacuzzi tub. Downstairs, a dining room with a wet bar, induction plate, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, water boiler for tea, and toaster. So not a full kitchen but enough to prepare small meals. We will provide you with a few essentials like milk, OJ, butter, jam, bread and a selection of breakfast cereals. If you forget to bring your iPod/iPad or Smart phone charger, not to worry, your bedroom has a double USB outlet for your convenience. Easy access to all points in the Gorge. Hiking around the Gorge is fantastic. We will let you know our favorites ones. Lots of wineries as well in the Hood River valley. Tour the Columbia Gorge Appellation (AVA) vineyards. Hood River is also known for its great micro-breweries: Full Sail, Double Mountain, Everybody Brew. After a long day hiking, nothing better than a cold locally brewed beer. Several delicious restaurants within minutes. Bakery, grocery store and shopping area also within one mile. Coffee shop and local pubs 5 minutes by foot from our place. Your rental has its own private entrance. Guest AccessYou may park on the left side of the driveway. You will have full access to the gardens. We are always available any time to answer any questions about the area's hikes, restaurants, wineries, breweries, etc. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is residential. Rather quiet especially at night. We are about a mile away form downtown Hood River. Which means that all the noise from the freeway and the railroad doesn't reach our house. Peace and quiet, yes. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation around town, but there are plenty of cabs if needed. Downtown is about 5 minutes by car or 20 minutes by foot. Other Things to NoteIf you forget soap, shampoo, and any other amenities we will be glad to provide you with any needs. A 8% Transient Room Tax is included in the daily room rate.

The SpacePrivate studio with a separate entrance on the lower level of main house. A family with a baby and toddler and a dog do live directly upstairs from the lower unit so you will likely hear tiny feet running across the floor. We are a great space for families with small kids - a lot of things around the yard to entertain them and a backyard swing. Guest AccessThis studio garden apartment is the lower level of a main residence and has a private access/entrance. It opens up to a patio and a large backyard. The bulk of the patio is covered to provide protection should it rain and room to stash your gear (skis, snowboards, kites, boards, etc.). The patio comes equipped with a grill, gas sideburner and adirondack chairs. Inside you will find the studio furnished with a dining table, queen sized cozy bed, couch that folds down into a double bed, futon, closet, dresser, kitchenette, bathroom and shower. There is a separate laundry room that you will have access to if needed. There is a family with small children and a dog that live upstairs and use the shared backyard. Interaction with GuestsKeith and Debbie and their two small children live upstairs. They are good friends and have an intimate knowledge of local businesses and attractions. They do have a friendly 4 year old dog that likes to spend time in the backyard and loves people! Unfortunately, he's a bit of a backyard hog so he'd prefer no other pets. The NeighborhoodThe studio is right in town near everything! You can walk the stairs to downtown Hood River in minutes. It's close walking distance to parks, the local organic market, coffee shops, and pubs. It is also close to lots of biking trails, wineries and water. We are a great space for a family with small kids. Getting AroundWe're just 40 minutes to Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort and just a one hour drive to the Portland International Airport. Other Things to NoteThis is a perfect spot/launching pad for anyone looking for a home base while exploring all the wonderful things the Gorge has to offer - hiking, biking, skiing, snowboarding, kiting, windsurfing, wine tasting, stand-up paddleboarding and more! There is no TV in the unit so if you are looking to stay in and watch soaps this is likely not the place for you.

The SpaceThis farm house built in the late 1930s resides on half an acre right along the Indian Creek Trail just a few blocks from 10 Speed Coffee, the local grocery store, and the Taqueria while also being one mile from downtown and world-class windsurfing, sailing, and kiteboarding. Mount Hood looms in the distance and Portland is just an hour away. The house is a modest, one-floor, two-bedroom house with one spacious bathroom, a big kitchen, and a living room with wood-burning stove. Each bedroom has a queen-sized bed, two windows, ceiling fan and bookshelf. There is plenty of parking for one or two cars and/or an RV. Guests also have access to wi-fi internet. We will accept pets but want to know a little more about them beforehand. They MUST be pre-approved prior to guests arriving. There will be an extra $10 charge PER PET PER NIGHT. The house is located in The Heights neighborhood - not in downtown Hood River. The Heights is a great neighborhood where mostly locals live, and has a great bakery, coffee shop, grocery store, Thai restaurant and more. It's a mile walk to downtown (it's literally down a big hill). The house is located right on the Indian Creek Trail, which is a two-mile trail that heads into downtown. Guest AccessFree wi-fi. Help yourself to coffee, tea and homemade granola. Interaction with GuestsWhen we rent the entire house (versus just the spare bedroom), we usually don't meet our guests. The NeighborhoodWe live in a safe neighborhood that is full of great restaurants, coffee shops, a bakery and parks. Plus, our house is right on the Indian Creek Trail, which you can take to get downtown. Other Things to NoteOur home is registered as a nightly rental with the city and we pay the required 8% transient lodging tax.

The SpaceWe offer a charming and functional space, right in downtown Hood River that fits 1-2 adults comfortably. Set under the trees, this little cottage is both cozy and modern. It has a full, private bath en suite and a queen-sized bed. Guests have privacy and comfort and may come and go as they please. We do not offer storage for gear or access to laundry. But, we are windsurfers and have no problem with you hanging wetsuits up to dry. We look forward to meeting you and getting you settled, but are happy to give you your privacy. We have lived in Hood River for many years and can guide guests to outdoor activities and great local businesses. Our neighborhood is off the beaten path so it's nice and quiet but is in Hood River proper. We can see the river from the property so it's great to get a sense of what's going on down at the riverfront. And, we are steps away from the Indian Creek Trail--a nice beginning or end to the day. It's just a quick walk to the main shopping street (Oak), either via the street or the stairs. Parking is easy on the street and guests will have a dedicated space. We live on a fairly steep hill and the path to the house from the street is steps and a gravel path--it's not for those who may be unsteady on their feet. Please note: we do not permit smoking or vaping of any substance in the house or on the property. Guest AccessGuests have the full run of the cottage and can come and go freely through the yard. (Guests may not invite other guests on to the property without permission.) Interaction with GuestsWe are friendly and will welcome you but will keep to ourselves mostly. The NeighborhoodWe live in a neighborhood that is off the beaten path but in Hood River proper so it's the best of both worlds. The Indian Creek Trail is steps away and the Hood River stairs are 1/4 mile. Getting AroundThere is no public transit or über in Hood River (there are a few taxis). But we are walking distance from restaurants, parks, etc. Other Things to NoteThere is a small fridge in the space and we have coffee / tea and cream, sugar.
