The SpaceWelcome to Lake Hopatcong, a restful lake community in the gateway to the Skylands, in northwestern New Jersey.
Affectionately nicknamed "Hippie Haven," it is ideal for a musician or band wanting to get out of the city and spend a few days rehearsing. It's also a lovely environment for an writer or artist, as it is peaceful and there are many light and bright rooms for drawing. However, all travelers and people in transition are welcome.
EXTRA BAND MEMBERS OR FRIENDS: $12 per person helps us cover the costs of washing additional linens and towels and providing continental breakfast.
The space has a bedroom with a full-sized bed that can accommodate a single person or couple. The music room can double as a second bedroom if you are traveling with friend(s) or other band member(s). There is a couch in the music room, which can accommodate an additional person, and there is an air mattress for a 4th person, (although it would be tight for 4 people and recommended for a short stay).
In spring, summer, and fall, there is also a usable trailer that can sleep extra band member(s) or friend(s) who cannot be accommodated in the studio. It has two full-sized beds. There is no running water and guests must come inside to use the bathroom, shower, etc.
In winter, we offer a private bedroom upstairs for extra band member(s) or friend(s) who cannot be accommodated in the studio. It has one twin bed and an air mattress.
We always make it work. We once had a group with 8 people, and everyone had a great time!
Due to the nature of the space, please tell us about yourself and what you'll be doing while you're here. Musicians are preferred, as the space is designed for traveling musicians. REFERENCES ARE REQUIRED, preferably on your AirBnB profile, or from other sources. Guest AccessThe music room has a PA, full drum kit, a piano, an electronic keyboard, a bass amp, and a couple of guitar amps. It's equipped with cable TV and high-speed internet. We have recently added a turntable and a collection of vintage vinyl records just for fun. Musicians will really enjoy this space.
There's a mini-fridge, microwave and toaster oven in the rehearsal room. I'll leave continental breakfast foods in the fridge for you. Just tell me what you like to eat. If your group needs meals, you can eat with us by special arrangement. A donation of food or cash to cover expenses is suggested.
There is a separate entrance to this space, and we ask that you use it if you come in after 11 PM.
Free off-street parking is available. Laundry facilities are available. Interaction with GuestsYou don't have to see us much if you don't want to, because we live upstairs. However, we enjoy interacting with our guests.
