The SpaceWe personally built this home as a sanctuary. It is constructed of the same logs that grew where the house now sits. Not a cookie cutter home, this one is built with love. Comes with 2 bathrooms/2 bedrooms and a pull out futon. Modern features include jacuzzi tub, custom tiled bathrooms, granite counters, gas stove, dimmable lighting. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. Perfect space for relaxing after a day of exploring! Enjoy your own private home in a small Alaskan town. Please note, this home has steep stairs. We request a two night minimum stay. We also request that the only guests are the ones discussed and identified to us as being on the reservation. Maximum total number of guests is six, including guests under age 7. Guest AccessWe have an extensive private library. You can read while here; we ask that you not take any of our books offsite. Interaction with GuestsWe will not be present during your stay. However, we will be available by phone and have a local contact for anything that might come up. The NeighborhoodEveryone that lives around us is a full time resident. See organic gardens, disenfranchised tires, and old trucks! The reality is that Alaskans like their "stuff". It does allow you a look at "real" Alaska. That said, EVERY SINGLE ONE of our neighbors is extremely kind and hospitable. When you see them, give a wave, you'll likely get a good conversation out of the whole deal. Views of mountains are stellar so is the access to the surrounding forests. Ride your bike into the backcountry or to downtown's one of a kind local scene. Bike rentals available, world class whitewater rafting tours, and recreational gold panning are just a few of the summer activities available. Don't forget to check out the Hope Museum! Hope is actually quite central for a variety of destinations on the Kenai Peninsula as well. Day trips to Whittier, Portage, Girdwood, Seward, and Turnagain Pass are quite easy, without more than an hour of driving one way. Hope itself is a gem of a town, from its culture to it's backcountry access, there's more than enough to do here that most folks are content to explore around town without ever getting in their car. Getting AroundParking available. A quick drive will get you anywhere. a short bike ride will also get you anywhere. Other Things to NoteHope is a 4 season destination. Winter fun can be had right outside the door. Just strap on your touring skis and whoosh away! Contact me for more information.

The SpaceWelcome to the historic Wolf Cabin reconstructed from a piece of Alaska’s gold mining history. The cabin was built by miners during the first gold rush in Alaska in 1906 at Lower Summit Lake. It was moved to Moose Pass in the 1940’s, and acted as a residence and post office to the Wolf family until it was abandoned in the 1970’s. Our family bought the property and has moved the cabin to its new location. The cabin was disassembled and reconstructed in 2016. It is completely refinished inside with the modern conveniences of a bath and kitchen. It is a small 12x18 cabin, but well equipped. It will be necessary for guests to have the ability to climb a ladder to the queen size bed in the loft.

This is a cute 1,000 sf cottage overlooking Six Mile Creek halfway down the road to Hope, Alaska. It's quiet, clean, warm, with lots of windows. The deck offers an outstanding view. You can hike from here, or raft the whitewater of Six Mile Creek, or bicycle the Resurrection Pass, or fish on the Kenai River, or dance at the Seaview Inn on summer weekends, or ski backcountry at Turnagain Pass, or just sit and watch the river otters in the creek. A lovely fireplace allows you to watch the river flow by in the winter. Only 80 miles from Anchorage but a world away! The quaint gold-mining town of Hope is just down the road. One bedroom in the turret. A futon and fold-out beds accommodate up to 6 comfortably. If someone wants to sleep on the deck, you can host more. You are welcome to use our canoes on the creek at high tide for a spectacular view of the forest and mountains from the turquoise waters of Six Mile Creek. Running water and indoor toilet. Water is filtered and checked regularly for quality. Our only challenge is that we are not on a well system so need to haul water ourselves. Our worst fear is you running out during your stay. We *really* appreciate you being conscious of water usage. Accordingly, if you don't mind not flushing #1 and keeping your showers short, that'll help save scores of gallons a day -- they add up! Thank you! It should be clear: we are sharing our family cabin in the woods. We use it, too. Stairs are not code. Water is hauled and filtered from the creek. We don't pretend to be a B+B or hotel. It is clean, beautiful, safe and relaxing but we're not there to fix any issues that may arise, though we are always on our phones and have people nearby to help, should you need.
