A spacious, rural home only 15 minutes from Camden. You'll have plenty of room to spread out in our four bedroom antique farmhouse set on two acres of lawn with 54 more acres of rolling fields and woodlands and a magnificent view of the Camden Hills. The midcoast area is a tremendous vacation destination, but most rental properties are located in village or lakeside settings, which can be noisy. Our farmhouse offers a quiet retreat, yet is only minutes from Camden and other area towns, like Belfast, Rockport and Rockland. Lincolnville was voted one of the top 20 small towns in the US! Begin your day with coffee or tea on the deck or in one of our Adirondack chairs on the lawn. Hike through our own woods and fields, or from nearby trailheads in Camden Hills State Park. Biking can be great fun, since traffic isn't too bad once you're off Rte 1, and most of the secondary roads offer scenic vistas. Swim in Levenseller Pond, a five minute walk down our street, or at the town beach on Norton's Pond, two miles away in Lincolnville center, or in Penobscot Bay at Lincolnville beach, just 10 minutes away. Tour the several wineries located within a 30 minute drive, including the Cellardoor winery located right in Lincolnville. There are also several lighthouses within an hour's drive. The closest is on Islesboro, a short ferry ride from Lincolnville Beach. At the end of your day, pick up fresh cooked-to-order lobsters from the local lobster fisherman, and dine al fresco on our lawn, enjoying the mountain view. Of course, there are dozens of wonderful restaurants in the local area, if you don't want to eat at home. Acadia National Park is a 90-minute drive - close enough for day trips, and a must-visit for any Maine vacation. Camden, Rockport, Rockland and Belfast all offer a wealth of cultural, recreational and shopping opportunities. We have renovated our family homestead and are offering it for weekly rental from late Spring through early Fall. The house, built sometime prior to 1830 based on the accordian lathe we found under the plaster, includes four bedrooms and is fully furnished. My grandfather 'updated' the kitchen in the 1920s and converted the pantry into a bathroom in the 1930s, personally building all of the cabinetry in both rooms. An interesting historical note: our farm had one of the first indoor bathrooms in Lincolnville, and we're still using the original sink! The first floor includes a large eat-in farmhouse kitchen, bathroom, living room, den, home office and one bedroom. The first floor bedroom has a double bed. A spacious front entry hallway leads upstairs to a new (in 2015) second bathroom and three more bedrooms - one room has a double bed, one room has an old-fashioned 3/4 bed, and the largest room offers a double bed and a twin bed. In addition to these bedrooms that can accommodate nine people, we have a couple of portable play-yards that can be used for babies and small toddlers. We are fully stocked with books from the 19th and 20th centuries, jigsaw puzzles and vintage board games. We also have a pretty extensive library of Maine's native son, Stephen King - the master of suspense fiction - whose novels frequently take place in secluded Maine towns. You haven't experienced the full impact of a Stephen King novel until you've read it in a secluded Maine farmhouse! Follow Rte. 173 northwesterly out of Lincolnville center about 1.5 miles. High Street is a left, just before Levenseller Pond. Our house is the second farmhouse on the right, about 3/10 of a mile down High St. It's a large, rambling, white farmhouse with a large front deck and two attached sheds, set on two acres of lawn with an ancient maple tree and several apple and pear trees. One of our large hay fields is directly across the road, which gives us a great view of the rolling field and the Camden Hills. The driveway is just past the house, and parking is behind the house.

Welcome to the Johnson Farm, which has been my family home since 1914. I work remotely from home, which gives me the freedom to host guests and indulge my love of baking! As your host, I'll provide a daily continental breakfast featuring freshly-baked muffins/scones/bread, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee or tea. I only rent to one party at a time, so you will have the entire 2nd floor as your private space - our front entry hallway leads upstairs to three bedrooms and a bathroom with a double walk-in shower. One bedroom has a double bed, another bedroom has an old-fashioned 3/4 bed, and the largest room offers a double bed and a twin bed. In addition to these bedrooms that can accommodate seven people, we have two travel play-yards where babies can sleep, if needed. You have kitchen privileges to prepare your own lunches/dinner if you don't want to eat out. The Farm sits on 2 acres of lawn and gardens, with another 54 acres of fields and woods - very private and relaxing! And last but not least - I do have a pet. Our cat, Snoop, usually lives here, and sometimes our dog, Patrick, too! This is a very private location. You cannot see any neighboring houses (unless you count the 3 rooftops you can see on the mountainside across the valley). We have about 2 acres of lawn with many perennial flowers, 12 acres of fields and another 40 acres or so of forest.

The SpaceThis farm sits on 46 acres of land on the side of Levensellar Mountain, 900 vertical feet above sea level. The barn apartment looks down past our house and to the orchard and the Camden Hills beyond.Trees block the view between our house and your bedroom windows and the little back deck. Our web site tells the story of how Bob came to be an apple farmer! ((URL HIDDEN) Guest AccessGuests can walk or hike anywhere on the property; up to the top of our blueberry hill or down through the orchard. There are trails to a bridge over Tucker Brook and up to a natural spring. Bob needs to mark the trails but they are close to the house and easy. Knox and Waldo counties in Maine have a high deer tick population so please dress appropriately for maximum coverage for walking or hiking. You may also wish to look up the homeopathic remedy Ledum, which many people use for Lyme prevention. This is indeed a working farm and you will see ancient trucks, farm equipment, rusty things, and the like. Nothing is off limits but the large hole for the future farm pond! Interaction with GuestsMia works as a therapist three long days a week ( Tue-Wed-Thu) and will answer texts as possible in between appointments and be available if needed at other times. She will sometimes text you with a restaurant suggestion or just to make sure all is well. Bob is on the premises every week day working on our new building, a cider and vinegar processing building with two new apartments ( which will be called The Cider House Apartments at Sewall Orchard) and can help if needed. We love meeting guests but want to respect that some folks are just here to relax. So in terms of meeting we will absolutely take our cue from you! The NeighborhoodWe are on a quiet dead-end property. There is a stable with horses nearby and route 52 ( to go south to Camden or north to Belfast) is close by. One claim to fame is that our neighbors are the owners of Camden's award-winning restaurant, Long Grain. We welcome deer, eagles, hawks, turkeys and rarely, moose! Getting AroundRural Maine has no public transportation. Most tourists rent cars. Other Things to NotePLEASE use our web site directions to get here. Many friends have been taken to an old, impassable part of Masalin Road when using on-line direction/GPS type apps. During apple season the farm is very busy. The week before Common Ground Fair ( which is always the 3rd weekend after Labor Day) we do not book guests, as we are working round-the-clock to prepare for the three-day fair, where we sell many thousands of cups of delicious cider! In apple season we work on the farm 7 days a week but are only open to the public Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. You will note much activity as the crews bring the apples up to the barn. The main days for pressing cider are Thursdays and Sundays and you are welcome to watch. You are welcome to walk in the orchard and may pick and eat an apple or two or three if you care to! Orchard rules apply, mainly no climbing, swinging or hanging from branches. Our lovely trees are delicate! We have never used sprays or pesticides of any kind, so our apples are not "dessert quality" in looks ---some have bumps and blotches---but they are highly nutritious due to the high nutrient content of our soil.I n season you can buy cider and vinegar is for sale year round, with a day or two notice, as Bob ages the vinegar 3 years and we bottle on demand.
