The SpaceMy cabin is a timber frame barn of 800sf with one bedroom and bath (400sf) attached. You will have my bedroom, with private entrance, and private bath. I will sleep in the great room and use the toilet/sink in the shop. Location is very private, view is wonderful, terrain is a steep oak woodland good for hiking. I am off the grid and have some interesting infrastructure (solar electric, solar thermal space heating, salvaged materials). There are many wineries nearby. Ukiah and Hopland are both 20 minutes; Boonville/Anderson Valley is about 50 minutes, as is Healdsburg. I am happy to provide as much information on the area as I can. You pretty much need a car to get here. Since you will be sleeping in my room in my bed only those possessing a high level of consciousness and respect need apply. Guest AccessYou are welcome to hang out in the great room, read, listen to music, watch tv, as you like, but note that I will be there as well. Interaction with GuestsI will be found in the great room. I will try to respect your privacy and give you your space best I can. I welcome the interaction but if you want to be alone that is fine. You are the "customer". Getting Aroundroad is pretty knarly for close to three miles, so you don't really want to be running back and forth.

The SpaceThe Tumbleweed Tiny House is located at the Solar Living Center (SLC) in Hopland, California. The SLC is the home of the Solar Living Institute (an environmental education non-profit organization), and the Real Goods Solar retail store. The site of the Tiny House (the SLC) is a 12-acre renewable energy and sustainable living demonstration. The property features various photovoltaic solar arrays, permaculture gardens, and an integrated, aerating water system that mimics natural streambeds, and includes an oasis that is positioned in accordance with the four directions. There are many interesting and educational attractions at the SLC and we encourage guests to fully explore the property. Guest AccessThe Tiny House is a compact 89 square-foot, self-contained building on wheels. It was completed in 2013 by a group of Solar Living Institute (SLI) interns. It is now managed by SLI staff and current interns. Downstairs there is a compact kitchen, including a sink, mini-fridge, and stove-top. There is also a small shower downstairs. Upstairs there is a cozy, full-sized bed. The bed loft is accessed via a wooden ladder and is not handicap accessible. Wireless internet is available on the site under the domain name Real Goods. NOTE: The toilet for guest use is outside of the house and is the public restroom for the SLC. Please do not use the toilet inside the house as it is not set-up. Towels and bedding are made from organic materials. There is heat and AC available in the Tiny House. Due to the area, ants are common on the 12-acre grounds. We have noticed them in the house and are dealing with the issue (during the summer months). We ask guests to not leave food on the counters. Interaction with GuestsMinimal interaction required with guests. Staff, interns, and visitors to the Solar Living Center will be on site during normal business hours. The NeighborhoodWe are located off the 101, so it is inevitable that guests will hear some traffic noise at night. You can find more information about the general layout of the location by visiting (URL HIDDEN) and selecting the tab for Solar Living Center. The map of the site is found under accommodations and is also sent via email to confirmed guests. Tour maps for site visitors can be found various places throughout the SLC as well as inside the Tiny House. Getting AroundA car is recommended. Other Things to NoteWe provide coffee, tea, sugar, honey, granola bars, and a few bulk food items. The kitchen has cups, plates, utensils, a french press, and other essentials. The Real Goods store has a selection of snacks and drinks for sale. Bathroom: There is a shower in the Tiny House. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided or can be purchased in the Real Goods store. Please refrain from using toiletries that are non-biodegradable. The toilet does not function. Guests are to use the public restrooms (women and men separate). The restrooms have individual stalls and sinks. Guests can also use the outdoor kitchen and shower area in our volunteer-camper area. The shower area has an indoor and outdoor shower. Review the map found on our website for complete details. Our guests have full access to the site when it is closed. SLI interns and caretakers live on the site.

Wood-burning stove Satellite TV, DVD player, and phone Ravenridge Cottages are located in the scenic Yorkville Highlands at the gateway to Anderson Valley. In addition to exceptional wine-tasting, the area provides visitors with a quintessential country experience. Surrounded by forests, meadows, and wild lands, pockets of agriculture – grapes, olives, sheep, cattle, apples – provide vitality and livelihood to local denizens. The spectacular Mendocino Coast is approximately one hour's drive along Highway 128, passing through the town of Boonville with its restaurants and shops, and Philo, with farm stands and tasting rooms. Outstanding Hendy Woods State Park near Philo has hiking trails through awe-inspiring old-growth redwoods. Ravenridge is located on a secluded hilltop property surrounded by forest and rangeland. Access to the cottages from Highway 128 is via private road, through the neighboring vineyard. The country location is very near the popular wine growing regions of Alexander Valley (Healdsburg, Geyserville, and Cloverdale), Anderson Valley (Boonville, Philo, and Navarro), and the local appellation of Yorkville Highlands. Yorkville is just a dot on the map with a small market and post office; however many of our Yorkville neighbors live on properties tucked away on the bucolic hills and dales. The locals comprise a surprising mix of pioneer families and more recent urban transplants. Many contribute to the award-winning grape-growing and wine-making culture (and lifestyle) of the region. There's a very lively social calendar in our community, catering to gardeners, environmentalists, nature lovers, foodies, and wine enthusiasts. Three excellent wine-tasting rooms enhance the neighborhood – Yorkville Cellars, Maple Creek, and Meyer Family Cellars. The town of Boonville, with restaurants, shops, brewery, and wine tasting, is a 30-miunte drive. Numerous wine tasting rooms are dotted along Highway 128 between Boonville and Navarro. Hendy Woods State Park with magnificent old growth redwoods, is just beyond Philo. At the end of the road, 128 intersects with coastal route 1 near the village of Albion. Spectacular beaches, historic lighthouses, restaurants, and the quaint village of Mendocino offer many choices for adventurous day trips. Ravenridge is a convenient home base for exploring the natural beauty, culinary discoveries, and friendly folks of the area. The cottages offer relaxation and serenity in an exceptional rustic setting. The perfect getaway from urban stress to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, honeymoon, holiday, or a simple revitalizing weekend.
