The farm is a working cattle and Standardbred horse ranch and the historic residence is one of the oldest homes in the state, built in 1835 by the first governor of Kentucky.
Historic Shelby Manor offers an exceptional welcome to its guests with its imposing brick entrance, crafted iron gates, and winding tree-lined drive. The three-story mansion is graced with an expansive foyer and beautiful salons decorated with classical interiors, polished antiques, and Venetian glass chandeliers. The main floor is the central living space which includes the kitchen, dining room, crafts room, tv salon, and bathroom. Off the main floor is an outdoor patio and a wrap-around porch, perfect for enjoying Kentucky sunsets. Outside, the residence is shaded by large magnolia trees and surrounded by lush green lawns.
Beginning on the second floor the residence offers four colonial bedrooms, one with a Jacuzzi tub. The third floor hosts a large private suite that can accommodate up to six people and/or serve as a fabulous space for children to gather.
Consider bringing your own horse! We have stalls and paddocks available to rent while you are with us. We can also provide gentle trail horses for your enjoyment during your visit.
