The SpaceAre you ready to pack your bags, hit the road, cross the Canal and RELAX on the Cape? Don’t pack too much – our home is ready to welcome you with all of the amenities to make you getaways as worry free as possible. From linens to beach chairs, towels to beach toys, spices to high chair, it’s all here, so you don’t have to think about it. And there is no extra cost – the rates are all inclusive for the human part of the family (dogs are slightly extra).
Bayview Getaway is child friendly, dog friendly, family friendly and in general, very friendly property that would love to host you this year. We are located on a quiet dead end street, just 5 minute walk to Bayview beach on Lewis Bay. It’s also easy to walk to great restaurants with marina views, hit the ferries to the charming Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard without a thought about fighting for the (expensive) parking spot, walk the kids to a mini-golf or just unwind with a book in the shady backyard. Guest AccessFor the beach explorer, we provide a free beach parking pass for Barnstable beaches. There are large and small beaches, beaches to keep teens happy (yes, they do exist), beaches perfect for small kids, beaches for windsurfing daredevils, all within 10-15 minute drive.
For families with young children, we have a pack-n-play and booster chair on hand and can provide several other baby paraphernalia on request.
Our home is set up for comfort and flexibility – there are 3 bedrooms, each with a queen bed and one of the upper floor bedrooms also includes 2 twin beds. All bedrooms are equipped with A/C units to keep you comfortable.
The downstairs floor includes an extra spacious bedroom with a sitting area and an entertainment center. There is a full bath, well equipped kitchen with modern appliances and granite countertops, a living/dining room area comfortably sitting 6-8.
Upstairs floor has 2 bedrooms (queen bed in each, and 2 twin beds in one of the two bedrooms) and a full bath with a shower.
Entertainment consists of a 42” flat screen TV with streaming video and cable, DVD player, Playstation, books and games.
Outside there is a porch with sitting for 6, a grill stocked with propane, a large yard with a swing and a sense of peace and tranquility that is hard to come by. The house is a last one on a dead end street, and the street backs into the conservation area, so you will see bunnies in the yard in the twilight hours. Better warn the dog! :)
While Bayview Getaway is situated in a secluded and serene setting, away from hustle and bustle of the town, it's within a walking distance (less than 1 mile) to the spirited Main St. in Hyannis - home to the Kennedy Museum, numerous restaurants, ice cream parlors, bookshops, boutiques, a carousel, and family amusement centers.
Enjoy Thursday night parade or listen to live music in one of the pubs. Take a ferry to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket, catch a whale-watching cruise out of Barnstable Harbor, a deep sea fishing expedition from Hyannis, take a drive along Old King's Highway and do a little antiquing, catch a game of golf at any of the nearby golf courses or just enjoy the sea breeze in the backyard.
'What a wonderful place! My boyfriend and I had two other couples join us for a 'Fall Getaway'. We spent a fair amount of time at the house. We enjoyed the very well equipped kitchen, cooking 'comfort food' for the gang. The TV has plenty of channels and we enjoyed doing a puzzle on the coffee table. I brought wine classes and martini glasses, but didn't need them as the house came 'fully equipped! The linens and towels are high quality and luxurious while the home is comfortable and welcoming. We can't wait to come back!' says a group of friends who enjoyed a fall getaway at our home.
'The house was well appointed and comfortable. I especially liked having linens and basic necessities supplied. The house is well located for long walks to the Hyannis beaches, downtown Hyannis and through the West Yarmouth neighborhood. It's also within walking distance of the island ferries and is a nice central location for exploring the rest of Cape Cod by car. The resident beach pass provided made exploring all of the Barnstable beaches trouble free.' says a guest from Maryland.
'Bayview Getaway was the best cottage I have ever rented. It came with everything you could possibly need and was a terrific location for hoping on the Ferrys for Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket and a short drive to all the cute towns to shop. Minutes from Hyannis.'- say our guests who chose Bayview Getaway for a girls week away.
'Thank you so much for the use of your house in Cape Cod. It was perfect. Enough space for everyone not to get on each other's nerves, a great deck where we took our meals daily, AMERICAN TV (if you don't live outside of America you don't know how exciting this can be), deck chairs that sit in the sand at sea shelled beaches, resident pass for Barnstable Beaches, quiet evening walks to the water down the street, watching the ferries to and fro from the Islands, bunny rabbits that welcome you when you arrive, A/C, an incredibly well stacked kitchen with so many things that I now want to get, and just a wonderful place filled with beautiful things that we were able to call home for a week. It was the perfect family vacation.' said our Canadian guests. Interaction with GuestsWe have been hosting families in our properties for over 12 years now. While we do not reside on the Cape, we live about 2 hours away and have wonderful local caretakers who are available for emergency issues that can not wait for us to take the trip down. We are available to guests by phone or e-mail whenever they have questions or any issues arise. Our contact information is also posted at the property for ease of access. Guests will gain access to the property via lockbox code, which is e-mailed 7 days before arrival. The NeighborhoodWe love the peace and quiet of our tiny street, the fact that there is a huge parcel of conservation land right next to our street where we can walk our dog or just go for walks. With young kids, the proximity of a local beach is extremely convenient since we don't have to pack them into the car - just walk down or put them into strollers.
We love being able to hop on the ferry to Martha's Vineyard by just walking up to it without having to worry about finding a parking spot or paying for it.
We love being able to spend days at our beach house not having to get into the car - walking to the beach, walking to the carousel or restaurants, walking to the mini-golf or Aselton park near Hyannis marina when there is a concert, all without having to think about driving. I love hearing the ferry horn on the foggy mornings :)
In general, what we love the most about this location is the combination of privacy, quiet, ability to recharge and yet close proximity to a lot of activities for adults and kids, many of which do not require us to have to drive.
Because we are so centrally located, the ability to take day trips, either to National Seashore and Provincetown or to the lovely towns of Sandwich and Falmouth on the Upper Cape saves us time in the car as well. Getting AroundGenerally, one needs a car on the Cape to explore it. This particular area of Cape Cod is probably served best by public transport in comparison to others (there's a bus terminal within 10-15 minute walk that can take you to/from both ends of the Cape as well as Boston and Boston's airport).
Additionally, proximity to ferry terminal allows for a trip to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket without a car.
But a car is strongly recommended if at all possible in order to fully explore Cape Cod. Other Things to NoteWe are new to AirBnB but not new to renting our homes to visitors. We have hundreds of 5 star reviews from past guests across our properties which can be seen online under my name or shown to guests on request.
