Some of the best restaurants, cafes and bars in Canberra are only a short distance away in the centre of Braddon, such as; Lonsdale St Roasters, 86, Elk and Pea, Grease Monkey, Chez Frederic, Bentspoke and Debacle.
So many other needs are very well catered for in Civic (just a 15 minute stroll) where you'll find cinemas, an olympic pool, super markets, specialty shops, a casino and a huge range of other outlets. Getting AroundTravel is very easy around Canberra, walk/car or bike.
Free city loop bus along Lonsdale St, only a five minutes walk.
Buses run regularly from the main bus stop in Civic, about a 15 minutes walk away.
There's a great bus system (ACTION Busses) you can use to get around and everything is super accessible on foot. You can also hire bikes (Canberra is very bike friendly) and ample parking around the tourist hot spots and a range of great day trips available.

OECD rankings have yet again confirmed what many Canberrans have long known; that our city is the best place to live in the world.
A story on the The New York Times's new site The UpShot, titled "Want an easy life? Try Canberra", trumpeted the results from a second report from the OECD, ranking 362 regions according to an increased nine measures of well-being from their 34 member countries.

Canberra has overtaken Adelaide as Australia's most liveable city. An annual survey by the Property Council of Australia asked 5,400 people across 10 cities to rate their city on the issues that matter to them.
Canberra edged out Adelaide and Hobart, scoring highly in outdoor recreation, education, and safety.
The capital also ranked second for healthcare services, cleanliness, design, roads, employment and economic opportunities.
