The SpaceFirstly, welcome, thank you for considering my space. My home is an original 3 bedroom red brick based in old Narrabundah. This listing is for a double bed guest room. (See other listings for larger room and/ or entire home) You'll have access to a shared toilet and bathroom but given I'm not home much it's hardly sharing :) You'll have full use of the remainder of the home. It's an oldie. Some say nurturing with a daggy kitchen. Some say sooo comfortable with that old timber and brick feel. Some even like the quirky way to open Nanas fridge with a chisel!! There's a small deck facing the sprawling grassed yard. You can mow it if you like:) The wide street with 2 elms out the front give a peaceful feel. The bathroom would hardly suit a footy team. It's small, but the bath is deep. I happen to like creaky floors and the history they exude. Maybe you like peaceful energy . Maybe your not into polished marble benches and white interiors where the fear of breaking or marking something somehow eats away at total letting go. You can do that here, just let go as your springboard to whatever Canberra has to offer you or you it. Free wifi TV in lounge room Ironing Laundry And a host that will engage with you as much or as little as you wish depending where I am. Keys will be left in a secret spot I'll share later. Guest AccessYou'll have access to everything!!!! Except the 2 other bedrooms. One is my 2 sons who stay with me when no guests are present and the other is mine or if booked another guests. Interaction with GuestsI live a flexible life driving for uber and working on other entrepreneurial ideas. I'll do my best to meet you but if it's not workable I'll be communicating all the way. I can come home very late after work but please, don't worry about noise in the morning. I'm not fussed at all. The NeighborhoodI love old. Do you ? Narrabundah is in the established part of Canberra within minutes to a variety of moods. Kingston Foreshore affords contemporary space with bars along the lake. Manuka and Kingston Shops give a range of bars, restaurants and cafes within a 5 min drive. The Griffith shops has gorgeous restaurants with a bar and 3 organic inspired shops. ( butcher, veges and health food ) Narrabundah shops close by too. The Bus Depot Markets operate each Sunday offering local and regional hand made products Adjacent to the markets is the Canberra Glass works. The National Gallery, National Library, Portrait Gallery, Questacon and both Parliament Houses are a 5-10 minute drive. The Fyshwick fresh food markets are also close by. They are open Wed - Sun and within walking distance of my place. A little further, but not far, is Fyshwick, Canberras industrial area which hosts a Direct Factory Outlet Centre. It's just a great place and space to be!!! Getting AroundIs there convenient public transport? You betcha!! Route no 5 is out the front of my place that takes you to the city. The Train station that is only used for Canberra - Sydney trips is a 10 min walk away Being an Uber driver myself, well you can't get anymore convenient than that if I'm around. Be nice and I might just drop you off anyway :) Below are approx costs using UBER to or from key destinations to your (my) place: Canberra Airport - $26-35 Let me know and we can do a deal for less ) CANBERRA CITY $18-24 National Institutions inc Parliament House - $10-15 Manuka and Kingston Shops - $6-10 Bus depot Markets $6-10 Fyshwick Markets $6-8 Other Things to NoteI have a fenced yard so dogs are ok as long as your the only guests at the time or I can ok it with others.
