The SpaceThe Empire of Atlantium is the only country you can drive to from Australia. Atlantium was founded in Sydney in 1981 by a trio of teenagers, and has since grown into a global civil society organisation and micronation with citizens in over a hundred countries. We acquired a 200 acre pastoral estate near Reids Flat, NSW, in 2008, and have been developing it ever since as our ceremonial capital. We have our own government house (the Golden House), post office, pyramid and an assortment of other monuments and buildings. Now we're opening our borders for the first time to visitors from Australia and beyond. If that's not unique we don't know what is! Guest AccessAtlantium is entirely independent of the Australian power, gas and water grids; Government House is equipped with LP gas fridge, stove and BBQ facilities, kerosene and woodfired heating, and solar-powered lighting. The bathroom includes a waterless composting toilet and an LP gas water-heater/shower. To ensure the safety of guests, gas fuses are fitted to all gas appliances in Atlantium. In addition to enjoying the amenities of Government House, guests have full access to the 0.76 sq kilometres (200 acres) of natural bushland that lies within Atlantium's borders. They may enjoy hiking, bird-watching, mountain bike riding, picnicking or swimming in our unspoilt forests, fields and lakes, whilst taking in often breathtaking views of the surrounding Australian countryside. They can also visit the only pyramid in Australia, along with several other commemorative monuments. Official Atlantium souvenirs, such as stamps, coins, banknotes, postcards and flags can all be purchased from the post office. Interaction with GuestsHow often have you met the king, president or prime minister of the countries you've lived in or visited? The monarch of Atlantium - Emperor George II - is, by contrast, a very down-to-earth fellow, and enjoys meeting and interacting with visitors to his country. He also wears the sort of sashes and bling that monarchs usually do, and you can call him "Your Imperial Majesty" if you really want to. Ladies may curtsy if they wish, but we don't insist on it. The NeighborhoodAtlantium is situated approximately 10 kilometres south of the township of Reids Flat, on the western side of the Great Dividing Range, in a quiet pastoral district. The nearest pub and shop are located in Bigga, 20 kilometres north of Atlantium, while the nearest hospital is 50 kilometres to the southeast, in Boorowa. Other Things to NoteAtlantium is located in an isolated rural location, and is surrounded by grasslands and forests that are filled with all sorts of wildlife - including insects, spiders, snakes, lizards, birds and marsupials. If you cannot cope with this, we strongly advise prospective visitors NOT to book with us. It can be hot in summer, and we do NOT have air conditioning. It can be cold in winter - and if you want to use the wood stove you might need to go outside and collect some firewood yourself. Despite our best efforts we do not yet have the power to control the weather - so if temperature extremes bother you, please do NOT book with us. Atlantium is located in a mobile coverage black spot; there is NO access to the internet, and only very limited mobile voice access, from the top of the hill behind Government House. Electronic devices can be charged via a USB charger attached to our solar lighting system - but it is a very SLOW process - and visitors will need to bring their own USB charger for anything other than Android devices. Accommodation at Atlantium is in a 10 x 3m one-room cabin. Facilities are comfortable but basic - including an OUTDOOR shower with a LIMITED water supply that must be used sparingly. All of this is reflected in our highly competitive nightly tariff, which is the lowest on Airbnb for any accomodation within a 100 kilometre radius. We do not provide a concierge service. We do not carry your bags for you. We cannot provide you with transportation to local attractions or public transport hubs. If you require that level of service please do NOT book with us.

If you ever wondered what it was like to wake up in the morning with the sounds of wildlife around you then our place is a must. Our train carriage dates back to the "Red Rattler" days with the Sydney train route still there for the eye to view. A steering wheel at the front where the train driver sat makes it a unique experience. New walkways have been built allowing you the opportunity to view the property. Our animals will welcome you and there is an abundance of food available from our vegetable and fruit tree gardens. Guest AccessAccess to our property from Orange NSW is along Coronation drive. Stay on this road until you see Edinboroh Rd turn off. Turn to the left along the dirt road until you see a sign saying McMurrays Lane. Turn right, follow this road until you see a sign at our front gate with the numbers 712. Your there! There is a park for children to play in and a lovely picnic area. Cargo is not far from Orange which has now become a food and wine destination. There is no public transport to our property, however there is car rental available at Orange if needed. If your wanting to arrive by train, we are able to pick you up and transport you to the property for an additional cost. Other Things to NoteThe location we provide for you is very secluded and private. You may see Kangaroo's, Echidna's, goats, and other wild animals roaming freely on our property. They have been doing this for a long time now and will not harm you if you leave them alone. We have limited water available onsite so we ask that you are conservative when using water. Please do not lite outdoor fires onsite because the chance of it getting away and burning the property is a high fire danger.
