We are in Coorabell which is set in the hills above the town with views to the Nightcap Ranges. There are many festivals in the area throughout the year for music, writing and alternative healing. There are farmers' markets and local artisan markets with local food and music. Getting AroundIt is desirable to have a car as public transport in the area is limited. Ballina airport is 35 mins from Coorabell and Gold Coast airport about 45 mins.

All that this special area has to offer is within a short drive....Federal and the wonderful Japanese Doma cafe is just 5 minutes away, the delightful village of Bangalow with its exclusive shops and restaurants is only 10 minutes away and a 15 minute drive will get you to the magnificent beaches of Byron Bay. Byrons Brae is clearly marked. Other Things to NoteHOUSE RULES Please note that all our homes have no party policies as noise travels to neighbours easily in both residential and hinterland areas. No extra guests are allowed to the houses and noise levels are to be respectful at all times. There is to be no outdoor music or outdoor entertaining after 10pm. Noise complaints will result in bond deductions and possible eviction. We apologise for being so strict but noise is a serious issue in the Byron Shire and keeping our neighbours happy is of paramount importance.

The dining table can seat up to four people. A breakfast hamper of local organic produce is provided when you arrive. The comfortable King Furniture lounge can be easily turned into a double bed for extra guests (although we recommend that two people enjoy this romantic accommodation). There are 9 other houses in the community, so you are not completely isolated. The aptly-named “Sandcastle House”, built largely of rammed-earth, sits in this landscape just 6 mins by car from Bangalow, 15 minutes to Byron Bay and 15 mins to the Blues Festival site (in light traffic). The deck faces East with lovely short, medium and long distance views sweeping 180 degrees across rolling hills and a lilied pond while protecting against western sun. Guest bedroom is on the ground floor with your exclusive bathroom right next door. Your casement window looks out over the garden. Guest AccessYou have the run of the house, with full access to kitchen/dining/living/deck and fabulous courtyard with open firepit. Walking tracks round the property, bubbling creek with swimming hole and a dam. Interaction with GuestsWe may or may not be in residence when you book. If we are there - we would love to chat, share a wine and dinner - or not - depending on your preference. You may see some of our neighbours - we'll let them know you are visiting. The NeighborhoodWe are on a wildlife refuge - the birds, the cicadas, the frogs and the resident wallaby are a delight. But being just 6 mins to Bangalow with its cafes, restaurants and boutiques and history is a bonus. The beaches are 15-20 mins away...getting to Byron the "back" way might save you a heap of waiting time. The Blues Fest site is just 15mins down the highway - easy! Getting AroundYou will need a car to get to us...no public transport until you get to Bangalow where there is a shuttle bus to Byron and the Blues Fest. Other Things to Note- Fresh linen and towels provided - Hair dryer provided - If you need to wash clothes - the machine is available - Use of condiments and basics such as jam, butter, cereal, rice, pasta etc is included. Herbs from the garden! You'll need to get milk, bread, fruit, veges, meat, fish etc.

The space is brand new in August 2015 and only high quality furniture and finishings have been used; much of it is up-cycled and eco-friendly. We welcome families and are happy to provide a mattress to go on the floor for a small charge of $10 to cover the cost of washing. There is lots of space and a refreshing pool to enjoy together. The local area is full of colour and culture with a leaning to alternative lifestyles. Mullumbimby's Friday's farmers market is a highlight not to be missed or Byron Bay on a Thursday morning. The rate starts at $120 per night but varies according to seasonal demands. Off season rates are negotiable for singles or couples. We are close to festival sites at North Byron and for Splendour in the Grass - avoiding all the traffic hassles of Byron Bay. We look forward to welcoming you to our little piece of paradise. The NeighborhoodThere is a beautiful waterhole 1 minute drive away where the locals love to swim. There are many roadside stalls selling local produce and flowers. Federal is another local village with the best sushi, coffee, full breakfasts and corner store, located 2 mins drive from us. National parks, waterfalls and the myriad of activities that the North Coast of NSW has to offer is at your fingertips here. Getting AroundNo public transport from our house. It would be advisable to have your own transport. Parking includes a 4 space under-cover carport. Ballina airport or Coolangatta airports are the closest. The main part of the house has lovely, character filled polished hardwood timber floors and cool furniture pieces including an eclectic chandelier, a huge white wash mirror and a corner daybed, perfect for curling up on with your favourite book. The living area offers a state of the art entertainment system including a 55" LCD 3D TV, DVD and Sonos sound system. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking up a feast on those nights in. There is a bathroom with spa bath on this main level and a Queen bedroom upstairs with balcony. The new wing extends down from the main house and features a TV room with fold out lounge, 2 queen bedrooms with built ins and the 2nd bathroom with a separate shower and bath. Every room opens out on to the lower deck with fantastic views across the wet edge pool and valley below. This 10 acre property is located at the end of Koranba Place, Coorabell, making it very private. There is a semi detached accommodation with tenants next door, however this has a separate entry and is private from A Coorabell Retreat. Coorabell is a wonderful little rural area and is only 10 min drive from Bangalow and 15 min drive to Byron Bay and Mullumbimby.

                                The SpaceJust 10 minutes from Mullumbimby, 10 from Bangalow, and 20 from Byron Bay is our luxurious house on five acres of rainforest. Lovingly renovated, our house has been fitted with an all new kitchen, has a dining room with table for 8, living room with lounges and armchairs, three bedrooms (2 x queen beds, 1 x sofa that folds out to a double bed) and two bathrooms. Water supply is from tanks collecting rain water but ALL house water is filtered through silver nitrate impregnated carbon and an ultraviolet steriliser. Toilets are Clivus Multrum composting units that you throw a scoop of sawdust into instead a flushing with water. Some folks are scared at first, but it's all too easy, plus no odour and no maintenance. Outside you will find 5 acres of rainforest, an orchard, herb and vege garden -- eat it all -- a carport for two cars and three decks to kick back, relax and enjoy this beautiful piece of land with hundreds of species of trees. The main deck is 1000sqm with a teak dining table for 10. And it's also a bird-watchers' paradise -- binoculars await on that huge covered deck. We also have a landline phone, decent mobile reception, TV, and wireless internet. Sorry but no pets because the echidnas and wallabies would run away. Getting AroundA car is almost essential here, given the nearby general store is 6 km away, but there are a few buses each day that pass nearby -- at a price that soon adds up to a cheap car rental! Keep in mind that the views from all the local roads are hard to beat. Other Things to NoteWe know certain critters, such as spiders and snakes, scare the hell out of some people. This is a rain-forest so aside exquisite birds and wild goannas, echidnas, wallabies and bandicoots, there are insects and reptiles. We all share, but it is sensible to keep screendoors closed and watch where you're going, just like critters do.

                                  The SpaceThe delightful Hut Studio is for 2 singles, 1 or 2 couples or a couple with children and includes a kitchenette, shower room, lounge & patio area - with use of the stunning pool & garden. The Hut has a double bed plus a pull out sofa bed. It has an appointed kitchenette that includes a fridge, microwave, Webber BBQ, toaster and kettle - thus meals can be cooked. There are plates, bowls, cups, glassware utensils, serving ware and microwave dishes available. There are tea and coffee making facilities at all times. Breakfast may be supplied and consists of continental cereals, bread and spreads. The Hut has a table and chair setting on the patio. This can be moved about as required. There is also a bathroom with a shower, toilet, fresh towels and bathroom supplies connected to the studio. All guests are welcome to enjoy the surrounding gardens and swimming pool facilities. Often we have wild life that venture through - some staying for a period of time to nest. From wallabies, koalas, echidnas, bandicoots, brush turkeys, water dragons and abundant bird life such as hawks, wedge tailed eagles and kookaburras. There is also a playground of young children including a climbing frame and sandpit. Guest AccessAccess to the property is via the main driveway. There is parking available on the driveway. Guests should check in at the main entrance to the house before proceeding down to the lower story via the outdoor stairs with Ruth or Kevin. Check in is from 6pm on Friday and check out is by 9 am Monday please. Sunday checkout is not limited in any way. Enjoy. Guests have their own private access to the room throughout their stay. Getting AroundTo stay at The Hut it is suggested guests have their own car, however, taxis are available from Byron Bay - with the cost being approximately $50 each way. If we can book you a taxi please let us know. Otherwise, Kevin would be happy to drive you to and from a destination at an agreed rate. Other Things to NoteFlights come into Ballina (20 min to The Hut) or Gold Coast Airport (45 minutes). Babies, toddlers and children are welcome but please no pets on the property. Cot hire is through Byron Baby Shop in the industrial estate and should be organised and collected prior to check in.
