The SpaceOne of the best things about Currarong is that it is still a sleepy fishing/surf village. Despite being only 2 ½hrs drive from Sydney and 1 ½hrs from the Southern Highland, the town hasn't been overdeveloped and has a very relaxed feel. Another great thing is its absolutely beautiful pristine beaches. Sail Away with me is 50mt walking distance to two gorgeous beaches both of which are north facing so you can catch the sun all day and are really safe for swimming with kids. Jervis bay is only a 10 minute drive with another 6 beaches accessible including the divine Honeymoon Bay. You will be spoilt for choice and you can always find a beach protected from the wind. You can spend the day exploring the many rock pools or bush walk along the Beecroft headland. It is a fishing paradise and is also a top spot for surfing and rock climbing which are popular sports in the area. In town is legendary "Zacs" fish and chip shop where you won't find any fresher. They catch their own fish and cook it fresh that day. There is also a general store incorporating a bottle shop to cover basics. There is also the Currarong bowling club that has a great Chinese restaurant and bistro that caters for the family. There is tennis court and a great skate park for those children that love to skate board. Guest Access*Sail Away With Me* is available for 5 night + booking only. We do not do bookings for less then 5 nights. Interaction with GuestsYou have the home all to your self with your family. I will not meet you, but you will meet the care taker / cleaners of *Sail Away With ME*. The NeighborhoodThere is a caravan park near by that has a great play ground for the children. The yard at *Sail Away With ME* is child friendly and safe (fully fenced). Getting AroundEvery thing in the village of Currarong is walking distance. There are some very good bush walks with amazing views. Other Things to NoteYou will find maps and flyers at *Sail Away With ME* that will show you around the area. The SpaceThe apartment has a well equipped kitchen for those who love to cook whilst on holidays, a big bath for relaxing, and a comfortable lounge and dining area. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and the 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds and double sofa bed. The jewel in the crown of Casa de Rosa is the beautiful covered deck that has views of the ocean whilst you sit amongst the tree tops. It is one of the biggest rooms in the house and has a BBQ, dining table and chairs for outdoor eating and whiling away the hours when your not at the beach having fun. Guest AccessThe apartment is fully self contained and guests will not have to share any of the upstairs spaces. The back and front yard will be shared with the owner who lives downstairs. Guests will not have access/use of any of the apartment downstairs or the front and back outdoor living areas. There is parking for 1 guest's car in the driveway and more parking on the street out the front of the house if needed. To access the house guest will find the key located in a key safe situated under the staircase. There is a torch hanging next to it incase you arrive after dark. 2 days before your arrival you will be sent the code to the key safe. Interaction with GuestsThe owner lives downstairs. Prior to arrival all communication will be by email or mobile phone but once you are here I can be available if any issues arise during your stay. I run a food truck so will be out working on most days or nights. Chances are that we will come across each other sometime during your stay. The NeighborhoodThe Beaches There are loads of them! Walk around the peninsula, or drive across the peninsula to the other side. Have a look at the maps at the house and find a beach all to yourself. When you’re walking around the water, look for dolphins – we saw 2 groups of them when we were there last. If the season is right you will also spot many whales giving their new babies a few life lessons. Abraham Bosom’s Beach is the closest and the prettiest. Head down Fishery Rd (turning right when you leave the house), take a left at Pescator and walk right down to the water. Then follow the track in front of the houses and next to the water. Just keep on going until you come to the beach. You will pass a stunning large rockpool which is very close to Abraham Bosom’s Beach and which has picnic tables and parkland adjacent to it. Bushwalking To get to the start of the bushwalking track turn right when you leave the house, walk to the end of Fishery Rd, turn left into Pescator St, then turn right into Weber Parade and keep walking for about 5 minutes. Once you’re at the beginning of the bushwalk and to get to Honeysuckle Point, take the walk to the Wreck and then turn right at the sign which says the Wreck. Honeysuckle Point is just beautiful and usually without people. The snorkelling here is superb. Further along this pathway is Lobster Bay, also delightful and, usually, free of people. Check out Mermaids Inlet which is about half an hour walk away and also Beecroft Head/Outlook which is about a 50 minute walk. Don't forget your fishing rod as there are loads of great fishing spots. Just ask one of the locals. Getting AroundSydney is the closest capital city and there is a train from Sydney Central to Bomadeery (30kms from Currarong) but only 1 bus a day out to Currarong. For cycling enthusiasts and if the weather is fine, bring your bike on the train as it's a lovely ride (30kms) out to Currarong. Definitely not recommended for the faint hearted though. The village is small so walking anywhere in the village will take you no more than 10minutes. If you are keen cyclists bring your bikes with you as many of the bush walks are suitable for bikes as well. For getting around under the ocean don't forget your snorkels, goggles and flippers as there is lots to be seen just below the surface. Other Things to NoteWe have spent the year renovating. All the internal work has been completed but there is still work to be done on the garden and the downstairs outdoor living areas. So just letting you know the property is unfinished and you will find piles of pavers sitting around the side of the house and patches of dirt where the grass has yet to grow. Don't be put off though as you will have a beautiful deck to spend your time on when you are not down at the beach. The outside of the house needs a lick of paint but sadly that can't be done until next year.

And just four houses down on the opposite side of the road is a path leading to Warrain Surf Beach. So, if the waves on one beach are a little too big or small for your liking or it's a bit blowy, you can always nip over to the other one! The NeighborhoodCURRARONG is a sun-drenched beachside village nestled securely in the lee of the Beecroft Peninsular, protected from southerly winds allowing for pleasant swimming all year round - yes, even in winter......the locals can often be heard saying...."the sun always shines over Currarong" Originally a small fishing village, is divided by a tidal creek & surrounded by pristine waters, long sandy beaches, sheltered coves and inlets. A sleepy little place for most of the year, Currarong becomes a vibrant holiday hub during summer and Easter breaks. Gorgeous sunsets, fantastic views & a myriad of bird & animal life make Currarong a truly memorable place to visit. With hanging swamps, ancient banksias, hidden forests, aboriginal caves & middens, tidal creeks, estuaries, soaring vertical cliffs, rocky headlands, etc. surrounded by the Jervis Bay Marine Park, Currarong's topography is so special & varied as to provide habitat for flora & fauna of important biological significance - all connected by various easy walking trails. Not to forget of course, some of the most beautiful sand, rock & bay beaches to be found anywhere in the world. Currarong's geography is additionally special in that the village & several of it's closest beaches unusually face back towards the west over the open ocean (as if on an island) providing spectacular 'over the water' sunsets - otherwise not possible on the Australian east coast. WHALE WATCHING: Humpback Whales visit the region annually during the migration seasons of June/July when they are heading north to calve & again in October/November when cows seek the safety of Currarong's bays to nurse & rest their new season calves on their return south to the Antarctic. There are plenty of fantastic vantage points from which to view the whales, with the very best often right in front of Currarong Village (sometimes so close as to see their large grey eyes looking curiously back). Whale numbers have risen substantially in the past few years making this area a premier whale watching spot. Watch out for seabirds, sea eagles, seals, dolphins & penguins all year round. Currarong truly is a photographers paradise ! BEACHES: Abraham Bosom Beach is a sheltered beach perfect for young children & great for snorkelling. There are also several modern gas BBQ's just behind the beach at the car park. 15 minutes walk further on into the Beecroft Peninsular reserve will take you to the unspoiled oasis of Honeysuckle Point or Lobster Rock. Both sheltered beaches are great for snorkelling, fishing & during quieter times, provide you with your own private little hideaway. Cycle, jog or take a leisurely stroll through the bush tracks to the impressive cliffs, rock formations and fantastic views at Gosangs Tunnel, Mermaid’s Inlet & the Beecroft Headland. Great vantage points to see the Humpback Whales as they migrate North and South. Other whale species can also been seen from these vantage points. Warrain Beach, a classic long surf beach is just 400 m walk away, is north facing & offers great surfing, kayaking & paddle boarding (hireable during holiday season). One can snorkel any of the many small rocky headlands protruding from the beaches & even snorkel the wreck of the Merimbula or Plutus, both close to the shore. Dolphins frequent all these areas, often cruising & feeding close in. There is excellent fishing from all beaches & rocks surrounding Currarong & several ramps to launch a boat. Great spots for scuba diving as well. GENERAL: There are 2 playgrounds for young children, the one at Dolphin Point across from the shop, affording fantastic views of Warrain Beach and looking as far out as Culburra & Mt Coolangatta beyond. Zac’s café/restaurant offers local seafood & oysters, most caught fresh on the day. Evening bookings are recommended during peak holiday times. Zac’s also provide take away meals, a general store & bottle shop. The local Bowling Club is open 7 days & serves Chinese & Australian food as an alternative. The Progress Hall has Bingo 2 or 3 nights a week during peak holiday times & is otherwise available for private hire, very reasonably for your special occasion. The local tennis courts, basketball court, skate park & 2nd children's playground are just 100 m behind the general store, opposite the boat ramp. The local craft shop is open several days a week for browsing. Getting AroundOf course, you will need a car to reach currarong unless you are happy to take the school bus from Nowra or Bomaderry railway station (from Sydney) but once in Currarong, every thing to do & everywhere to visit is easily reached by walking. Other Things to NoteYou will require a passcode to open the 24 hr accessible key lock to access your security entry key. Such passcode will be sent to you by SMS approx 2 days prior to your arrival. Should you not receive such by then please do not hesitate to contact me, so I can resend. Beds are not pre-made as some guests prefer to supply their own bedding & bath towels. However, should you require, bed linen & bath towel packages are freshly laundered & bundled, ready for your immediate use & all conveniently located in the linen cupboard within bedroom 1. Free Wi-Fi is provided, however please be reminded that we are in the country & NBN is still unavailable, so service can be slow or intermittent. Username & password are labelled beneath the modem/router which sits on the bench top beside the television. A gas BBQ is located on the top balcony & a large single gas bottle is supplied. An additional gas bottle is available upon request for longer rental periods. If using the BBQ, we request that you scrape clean the grill after each use with provided tools to prevent fat & grease build-ups, thus reducing the likelihood of fire caused by flare-ups. Please leave all in a generally clean condition - as found. This is an Eco friendly & Allergy Aware property & for occupants convenience & wellbeing, is stocked & cleaned with Eco Friendly & Allergy Sensitive products only. Accordingly pets, unfortunately are not allowed.

The SpaceSkyview was built by my father (a qualified builder and fishing tragic) in the late 1960s as a family holiday house. We enjoy making it available to introduce others to the delights of Currarong. The two levels are linked by an indoor spiral staircase, which will require supervision of young children, and by an external stair from the deck. The entry is via a sheltered carport which can accommodate two cars. Kangaroos frequently visit the backyard, as do the occasional ringtail possums. For this reason we ask that you not bring your pets. Being on the high side of town, the house catches a sea breeze on most days. Shops and beaches are a 10-minute walk away. Across the road is a bush track to the trig station lookout and the cliffs. The house provides some recreational equipment and games. You will need to supply your own linen and towels. The water heater is small and responsive, so allow 10 mins for reheating after about two showers. We ask that you not smoke in the house. Guest AccessAccess is to the entire house, apart from a private room at the top and the garage. Entry is by numeric keypad. I will provide the code before you arrive. You won't need to carry keys and members of your group will be able to come and go securely. Interaction with GuestsI live in Sydney but am happy to take enquiries by phone while you are staying at Skyview. As I work full time please note I may not be able to respond immediately, but I will try my best to get back to you. The NeighborhoodCurrarong has been a fishing village and holiday destination since the 1920s. As the only village on the Beecroft Peninsula it is blessed with access to a wide range of beaches and natural scenery, both along the sea coast and Jervis Bay. Apart from fishing and beach activities, people are drawn to the area for snorkelling and diving, sea kayaking, dolphin and whale watching, exploring the nearby gorges and walking the many bush tracks. The village has a seafood restaurant as well as a club, and there are some excellent restaurants between Currarong and Nowra. Nowra is 25 minutes away and has major shops, cinema, pool, galleries and other facilities. Getting AroundYou will need a car to get to Currarong and to visit areas such as the Point Perpendicular lighthouse (this road is through Navy territory and can be closed on weekdays out of holiday times). There are school buses from Currarong into Nowra. The nearest train station is at Bomaderry, across the Shoalhaven River from Nowra, from which you can travel to Wollongong and Sydney (and which is one of the most attractive rail trips available in NSW). Driving from Sydney takes about 2.5 hours. Other Things to NoteThere is a guide to the house and the district in the house. We respect our neighbours and we ask that you extend the usual courtesies in terms of noise and sociable hours. Please note you will need to bring your own sheets, pillowslips and towels. Beds are 1 x queen, 1 x double, 2 x single and 2 x single bunk.

Steer this ship for beachside fun Step aboard this charming coastal gem and discover a cottage transformed. The charming soul of the original has been retained, but a masterful renovation has opened up the spaces to create a free-flowing holiday home for fabulous family togetherness. The heart of The Wheelhouse is its sun-filled, screened deck that overlooks a sub-tropical garden regularly visited by kangaroos. Hours of lazy, sun-filled hours reading, painting and chatting will be spent here. The breezy kitchen melds seamlessly with the lounge/dining and deck, so glorious aromas will waft gently through to entice the gang to the dinner table. Each of the four bedrooms has its own special character and style – kids will love the bunk room with its bright nautical theme and the master bedroom opens to the deck and overlooks the garden. At every turn, the interior style is eclectic, engaging and focused on the comfort of guests. Sink into a lounge with a good book, pop on some soft music and drift off to sleep and be woken by the kids keen to get down to the beach….heaven. Currarong is a peaceful seaside enclave with fresh seafood and migratory whales in season can often be seen from the cliffs a short stroll from the house. Jervis Bay is a stone’s throw away.
