The SpaceMercedes House originally called "Tarra" was built in 1895 but as a single story home for a local merchant, in later years the Catholic Church/Marist Brother purchased the residence and added an additional story to accommodate boys boarding and schooling (Circa 1921). Mercedes later change to all girls under the guidance of the Sister Of Mercy and continued the boarding school till 1975.
