The SpaceThe heritage cottage consists of 2 bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed, and the other with two single beds. It has a sitting area (lounge and dining room) with a lovely big fireplace, a kitchen inclusive of an original Dover Stove for those chilly winter days and nights, and a bathroom with shower. The kitchen leads out on to a beautiful patio area with a table that seats 12 as well as a braai area. The front door opens out on to a large fynbos garden with loads of space to play, chat, relax, read...whatever takes your fancy. We offer guests the privacy they require. Guest AccessThe cottage consists of 2 bedrooms, a sitting area (lounge and dining room) with a lovely big fireplace, a kitchen inclusive of an original Dover Stove for those chilly winter days and nights, and a bathroom with shower. The kitchen leads out on to a beautiful patio area with a table that seats 12. The front door opens out on to a large fynbos garden with loads of space to play, lie, chat, read...whatever takes your fancy. Interaction with GuestsMarlene, who manages the cottage, lives in a flat on the premises. If there is anything you need, please feel free to contact her at any time during your stay. The NeighborhoodMcGregor is a small village in the mountains of the Western Cape, South Africa. It is roughly 150 km east of Cape Town, located in the Breede River Winelands. The village has become somewhat of a magnet for alternative lifestyles. It is home to a dynamic community of artists, poets and musicians with a number of galleries to boot. Both eccentric and therapeutic, it provides a place to unwind, step back in time and relax. There are a number of restaurants to choose from to suite every pocket but no fast food outlets. Getting AroundThe village is small enough to navigate on foot. If you want to experience the neighbouring wine farms, donkey sanctuary, and any other attractions in the Langeberg region, it would be wise to have a car. Other Things to NotePlease note that all grey water empties into the garden. This may sometimes affect the flow of water out of the shower. Please let Marlene, our manager, know if this is the case, and she will do her best to rectify the situation. The fireplace in the lounge needs to be 'handled' with utmost care. Because of the thatched roof, we have a sieve in the chimney that catches any stray sparks. The grid needs to be pushed right up against the back wall so as to prevent smoke from entering the house. When first lighting the fire, a bit of smoke may come in to the house, but this will soon sort itself out. If the wind is blowing strongly, it may also affect the directionality of the smoke. If this is the case, you may need to use the Dover stove in the kitchen until the wind subsides. Unfortunately there is not much we can do about the wind causing the smoke to blow into the house! We also ask you please to make sure that all fires are completely extinguished before you go to bed. All of the beds have electric blankets on them for chilly winter nights. It is advisable to switch the blanket/s on at least an hour before you go to bed. If you would prefer not to use the electric blankets, we have some 'heavy duty' blankets stored in the cupboards. Please ask Marlene to take these out for you.

The SpaceSituated in the heart of Robertson, a favourite tourist attraction spot that’s located along the longest wine route in the world, Route 62, resides a chic quaint Hotel providing luxury accommodation and fine cuisine all year round. The hotel also hosts its signature restaurant, offering an exclusive wine collection and sheer elegance. The hotel prides itself on its tranquil picturesque sceneries from the property’s simple, yet contemporary architecture. This recently established boutique hotel comprises ten luxurious guest suites, each rich with character and yet ever so modest making up the perfect home away from home. Clients’ comfort and relaxation are of the utmost top priority, it should come as no surprise that each suite is furnished with a king size bed, minibar, and en-suite bathroom. These are just a few of the standard perks that are accountable in bringing about a warm ambiance in this yet undiscovered haven. Poolside Suites: The Poolside suites demonstrate a further step along the trajectory of old to new, progressing from the casual-contemporary to a more definitive and clean-contemporary crispness. White doors contrast with chrome and textures ‘speak’ to each other in a tactile, multi-layered, ultimately serious interior. These four suites spill out onto an expanse of a shimmering, extra-elongated, pool with sundeck. Again, the neutral wood and mottled water juxtaposes smooth metallic-elements. The Hotel has ten bedrooms divided into three room types: The Manor House; Stables and Poolside Suites. Despite stylistic variations, the three accommodation types share common threads reflected by the continuity of aspects of design. Each facet is not stand alone but all flow into one another effortlessly. Each type of accommodation reflects the appreciation of space and a variation of expression in art. Textures, details and layers are all meticulously placed and appraised to create the ultimate experience. Dining Experience: The hotel’s restaurant, as far as possible, uses natural and seasonal produce and demonstrates a progression towards organic. The cuisine is eclectic with a concentration and focus given to the best local and seasonal produce available. The free-range duck eggs, which serve as an alternative to conventional chicken eggs, are sourced from a local farm and exhibit rich, nutty flavours. Free-range local pork and bacon, as well as dairy products and fresh produce are all sourced locally. Facilities: With a century and a half of richly diverse history, legacy and heritage, the number of national heritage sites in this charming town is hardly astounding. One such building is Zandvliet, on 58 van Reenen Street, built in 1909, now coined the Manor House, the heart of the hotel, to which all sinews are interconnected The centennial Victorian Manor House with her old world charm, elegance and graciousness houses: The intimate Bar Area (with exquisite mirror, lead and pewter details) Ultra-modern temperature controlled Wine Cellar Restaurant Courtyard The Wellness Room 2 Swimming pools Internet access in hotel lounge WiFi connectivity Laundry service Picnic baskets on request Secure parking Rates include: Breakfast Complimentary in-room mini bar Rates exclude: Transfers to / from Cape Town Lunch, Dinner Hotel Bar Please note single occupancy rates available upon request.
