If your travelling from Sydney, ask the driver to drop you off at the Upton Street stop, and we'll pick you up from there...if your flying in to our local airport (Newcastle) the same bus service operates, or you can hire a vehicle and do your own thing... Outside is a covered picnic table where you may like to enjoy your morning coffee or have breakfast. We also have a portacot and high chair. Babies stay free. Guest AccessWe have a barbecue that you are most welcome to use should you wish and you may have access to the kitchen and share our fridge. Interaction with GuestsWe will be here to welcome you and are home most evenings, so if you have any questions or need anything feel free to ask. Getting AroundThere are two bus stops near our house that will take you either into Nelson Bay or into Newcastle or to Newcastle airport. Other Things to NoteThere is plenty of room to park up at the house.

    The SpaceThe house has a large open spaced lounge, deck and BBQ area with great sea views. There is ample space for people to chill out, read, relax or research places to visit around the area. The beaches are not far away - we can often hear the surf roaring and dolphins sometimes swim by. The bird life is amazing. Pelicans rest on the point adjacent to my place and fish in Tilligerry creek daily Guest AccessPeople who come to my place can access the section, gardens and deck area as well being able to cook in the kitchen or on the BBQ if they wish. They are welcome to use the home to relax in. The poodles are very sociable and we enjoy people and children here. Interaction with GuestsWe are available with information on some of the great things that are available to see and do in the area. Brochures are supplied. The Neighborhoodour place is unique with the seaviews , bird life, space within the house and section with closeness to all amenities around the Nelson Bay. A big plus is the close proximity to Newcastle air port - 15 minutes. Getting AroundIt is usual for people to rent a car at the airport or come by car to Pelicans Rest. There are buses, but seem rather infrequent so this would need to be researched by guests before coming . Other Things to NoteI have a son who is oyster farming, so for a small cost these are usually available. You just need to give us notice to access thesse.

Getting AroundThere is a local bus service at the door. However, a car is recommended. Soldiers Point is approximately 30 minutes from Newcastle Airport (Williamtown). All to be viewed from the lounge and large deck area. Every bedroom has a view.The townhouse is very large and spacious, with a magnificent antique early Australian dining table that seats 12people. If music is your hobby..there is a baby grand. Alternately, you can take a a few minutes drive to the Salamander Bay shopping complex with MacDonald, KFC, Domino Pizza, Kmarts, Targets and supermarkets (Coles, Woolworths and Aldi). Port Stephens Visitor Information Centre is located at 60 Victoria Parade, Nelson Bay which is 9 minutes drive from the house. It's a good starting point for your adventure & exploration such as dolphin & whale watch, scuba diving & snorkeling, golf & bowling, 4WD tour & sandboarding, helicopter scenic flight, Koala patting, Go Karts ride, boating & fishing, wine & dine, etc. The house is only 6 minutes drive to the popular Soldiers Point Marina for boat launching. There is a daily ferry from Nelson Bay to Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest. After all, it's only 2 hours drive from Sydney Upper North Shore, mostly on a dual carriage motorway. Getting AroundThe nearest bus stop is 2 minutes walk from the house. Port Stephens Coaches operates buses that can take you as far as Newcastle Airport and Newcastle train station. Other Things to NoteThe house is for holiday rental. The house is cleaned and all beds are made without linen for guests before arrival. Do away with small hotel rooms and crowded holiday parks to experience holidaying in this home away from home. The garage will be locked up but off street parking is still available in the driveway.     The SpaceThis is a quaint beachfront cottage, literally on the beach! There is an amazing view through to the Heads from the patio. Ideal for a family holiday of lazing on the beach, swimming, fishing or kayaking. The cottage sleeps a maximum of 4 people. It has two separate bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and the other room has two single beds. There is an open plan lounge and dining area. The bathroom has a toilet, vanity and shower. There are fans in the cottage. A BBQ is provided. You can use the communal lawn area as well as your private balcony. A linen pack is supplied and will be in the cottage when you arrive and you will be required to make up the beds and strip them before you leave. Please bring your own beach towels. Off street parking is available for one vehicle only. Should you wish to bring a boat or a trailer, please inquire about availability of additional parking spaces. Port Stephens is truly a magnificent area and there is so much to see and do. Inside the cottages are some brochures on activities to do. The NeighborhoodThe cottage is a 5 minute walk to Sunset Beach (where you watch the sun go down) and the Soldiers Point Marina. I love having dinner at "The Deck" restaurant. It is relaxed and you can sit overlooking the water and take in all the boats and the wonderful sunsets. Pearson's Park is close by and the kids love to play in the park, fish off the pier and look for a Koala. They have even scooped up a sea horse in their little fishing nets before! Just near the cottage is "Sails Restaurant" and the kids love to get a milkshake and hot chips to eat on the beach (if Mom is feeling lazy). Getting AroundThere is a bus stop close by and onsite parking for 1 vehicle per cottage. We have an abundance of birds including lorikeets, friendly magpies and koels who feed off the native plants. Visitors have also spotted the local koala. Across the road is Soldiers Point Marina, with 2 restaurants. Two other cafes are in walking distance (1min), as is the local bowling club and pub (10min). Soldiers Point is usually a quiet neighbourhood, especially outside of peak holiday times. Its a great place to relax after a busy day out. If you are looking for more action - Nelson Bay is a short drive away. Getting AroundThe bus stop is 1 minute's walk away. The Sydney-Port Stephens coach service also stops here as well as the local buses. Newcastle airport is 30 minutes drive away - car hire available here. Soldiers Point Bowling Club provides a courtesy bus service. Water taxi can be arranged from Soldiers Point Marina. Nelson Bay taxis service the local area.
